Stopped in to grab a quick dinner on our way to Davenport. They were closing for the night we didn't realize till after we left! (Sorry guys!). We were literally the last customers. But checkout person couldn't have been friendlier, she even hooked us up w extra napkins. We chilled in the parking lot to eat a much craved healthy n fresh alternative to highway fast food, but when we went to start the truck, our battery was dead! I have been to this Trader Joe's a hand full of times now and it's great. It is set up way different than the one in Des Moines, so it feels weird to me but I can still find everything with relative ease. There was a gal working named Elle I think who complimented my outfit, which was bizarre cause I had on overalls and wild sock, and yellow shoes.. I thought was she is smiley and nice and made my shopping experience fun. Then I kept seeing her around the store and she seemed to know exactly how to compliment everyone in the right way.. Way to go, give her a raise.. All the staff here seems to go out of their way to help and be personal but not over bearing.. Each TJ's I go to is always fun, bright, shows off amazing products, talented artists, and has a comfortable feeling. I rarely write reviews on TJ's where I visit, as I have never been to one that's disappointing... but this store gets an extra glowing star because of the extremely friendly, and helpful staff (especially since I was on crutches trying to navigate around the store). I love Trader Joe's- I'm totally biased. I lived on the west coast for many years and it was a treat when I could stop in their stores and indulge in the various snacks and pre-made frozen meals. I was delighted that they opened up in Coralville and dismayed that they were not open sooner. The staff here are ALWAYS SO NICE!!!!! We go once a week to get food and everything we have tried so far is so good and with good ingredients which makes us feel better. SO, guys-- I've gotta update this because Trader Joe's JUST KEEPS GETTING BETTER. I recently threw a seventy five person 70th birthday party. It was an eclectic bunch of folks from all age groups and to really make it more difficult when ordering beverages-- the party was on the later side (from 7-10PM). Oh man. A cocktail party vibe. ** Let's just add in there that the host with the most (my father in-law) was footing the bill and his only words of guidance were, "I just don't want to run out." ** ENTER Trader Joe's. I came in a week before my event with my selections of chardonnay, rosé and prosecco. I merely told them the type, how many I needed, my name/phone number and they said, "Consider it done-- see you in a week!" A week later, I walked in and said I had an order. They wheeled out my four cases of wines from the back, rang me up and helped me to my car. Promising any unused bottles, they'd take back and refund me, as long as I had proof of purchase. The party (and rosé) was a hit! I came back the day after, extra bottles in tow and receipt in hand. BOOM. Returned, refunded and on my merry way. They make party planning easy folks. The selection, the pricing, the week notice and the rad refund policy. My next shindig, Trader Joe's will be providing the spirits-- without a doubt. Cheers! read more

I've always had a love for Trader Joe's and was sad when I got to the area and the closest one was this location. Luckily I had to make a trip and this Trader Joe's was nearby!!! I wish there were more of them scattered around the state as the concept is great. Those that have allergies or food sensitivity will love going here for alternatives that are on the cheaper side of things. I felt like a kid in a candy store the moment I walked in. It was hard not to buy everything within view but they had a lot of the same products I loved from the early 2010's, this made my heart so happy. I grew up frequenting Trader Joe's with my mom and was stoked when one opened up near me for the first time since I became an adult. We were a little late getting out there, but my fiancé was an instant fan and we've worked it into our regular errands list. We make the drive from CR every week or so to stock up on all the snacks and meal essentials TJs has to offer. Like others, we are obsessed with the frozen food options including gyoza, shumai, and individual Indian meals. We also love the chocolate and cookie options, trail mix and nuts, produce, and plants. I got the cutest succulent, a fairly big one I thought, for my desk for just $6! I can't wait to buy a few more friends for that window sill. This Trader Joe's is relatively new and is off the 80 freeway and 1st Avenue, specifically on 9th Street. The driveway and parking are well marked and carts are being retrieved and cleaned as you enter the store. The store is bright, wider aisles, and great products at affordable prices. Trader Joe water was purchased for 67 cents for a liter plastic bottle. Checkout was quick and workers were very friendly. This was a perfect stop before heading back home. read more

I really love Trader Joe's and after moving here from New York City, I've come to look forward to my weekday trip to this TJ. First time I came here I had my New York City routine on... I ran through those aisles picking up all that I could and then at some point I looked up and realized I was one of 15 customers IN THE ENTIRE STORE. In this age of COVID-19 it is such a relief to be able to peruse the aisles, to read the packages and to casually decide on what I should put in my cart. And if I change my mind I can go put it back instead of being stuck with it (this is a reality in New York City Trader Joe's - once you go forward it's really difficult to go back). Employees are so so helpful and nice. The store is immaculate and they get new deliveries every day. read more

Trader Joe's opening in town miiiight be the highlight of my year. Growing up in the Chicago burbs, I am a huge TJ's fangirl, and this location does not disappoint. From fresh flowers, to delicious seasonal items and a huge wine selection, I know I'll be here weekly. Like other TJ locations, this spot can get busy during peak times, but the line always moves quickly. Definitely don't be intimidated by a full parking spot or long lines, but also consider going at an off time if you're in a hurry, OR want some more personal space to browse the aisles at your leisure. read more

Was SO stoked to see a TJ's coming to my area and have consistently traveled the 30 mins to stock up on essentials since their doors opened. When I visit a friend or family member with a TJ's in their area, a trip is essential! Love their flyer specialities but staple go-to goods include: maple syrup, frozen Asian goyza, chocolate bar, nut butters, super cheap but fun cards, trail mix, wine, affordable organic or/& prepped veggies plus plenty of other fun and fab finds every trip! They have a selection that truly can't be beat - rivaling any other grocer with their niche products and attention to detail. Staff at the registers are always friendly and despite the small space of the stores I'm always so focused on my shopping experience it doesn't seem to phase me. I went here a second time, and I have to admit, this place is growing on me. Love the wall of orchids when you come through the door, I snagged one and a basil plant. Their produce selection is large, they have both organic and non, nice have choices....produce prices are fairly low. They have a TON of Trader Joe products..I tried a few things, and am satisfied. My first visit at Trader Joe's was great. I was in the area for an appointment at the hospital and I thought it would be a great idea to stop in and take a peek. They had some foods that I have never seen before like salmon jerky and buffalo jerky. Well I didn't want to leave empty handed so I bought this Carmel popcorn and I must say it is the best I've had. The store was very crowded but I guess it's a good thing regardless of that I wasn't in the checkout line long. I plan on going there again soon when I have the time. read more

This Trader Joe's is as wonderful as other TJs; clean, bright, and welcoming, with a wonderful staff! They had almond biscotti featured in the entryway when we walked in, and I grabbed a box, which we absolutely love; they have such an immense almond flavor! Like so many Trader Joe's products, we were very happy with this delicious, inexpensive product! The flowers are always something that are great to see when we walk in; such great prices! We filled our cart to the brim with plenty of great food for my daughter to take back to her apartment. So trader joes finally opens in Coralville, and I made the first visit on oct 7th, which was pretty good. The location is very close to my house, so I think I would become a regular customer after then. However, on my second visit today, I bought a guava juice and didn't realize it was already expired!!! Isn't that awful? The store opens only two days and something is already expired!! The main problem is when my husband took the guava juice back, the store manager didn't really think it is a problem, they simply ask if we wanna switch a new one? A new expired guava juice? No! Just think they can and they should do better as a new open store. They should take it more serious becoz so many people actually really excited about the store opening.
