I got 2 gallons of serious oil based paint in Space Shuttle Grey oh and by the way it's the same paint they use on the space shuttle. For $13 a gallon. That's right. IF you could get it anywhere else which you can't it would be $80 a gallon. Then I got 5 gallons of stain for $10 each. Forget the Memorial Day paint "sales" at Home Depot. You would be paying 3 times as much for an inferior quality paint. And the accessories?? Rollers for 75 cents. 4 inch brushes for $3.99. And lavender scented rubber gloves for $1. Free parking in the back. Tell Ron I sent you.

I stopped in here and picked up some primer as well as two gallons of BM Aura paint. The lady that assisted me was quite friendly and helpful in finding the paint I needed. The prices are a bit higher than what you'll find at the big box stores, but I think this is due more to the BM paint as opposed to the store's pricing. I was very satisfied with my transactions as well as the end result and would definitely go back when/if I need more paint.

First off, don't shop here if you're looking to paint a large project. You can't go back a week…read morelater and hope to match the previous paint color. They probably won't have it. Remember, color selection is limited. BUT, if you only have a few rooms and don't mind going different colors in each, or . . . even remixing multiple cans to make one single color, then you may be in luck. The paints are good brands and fairly priced . . . . . but remember these are returns and color mistakes, so limit your ideas about color choices. Last thing, will recommend you "stay away" from their no-name spray paints. They are really cheap quality, bad coverage, and long long long time to dry. Good spray paint normally dry to the touch in 10 to 20 minutes. Their stuff still sticky after an hour or more. You get what you pay for. If your just looking to save money, no problem, you will. But if your looking for choices, you'll need to go to the big box stores.

I'm working on a patio project and instead of wandering around a gigantic store in Ontario, I stopped at Kell's. I walked in and was immediately greeted. I explained what I'm doing and they personally walked me around the store, helped me gather up the exact right components, paint and proper fittings, cut the PVC at no charge, rung me up and had me out the door in less time than it would've taken me to drive to Ontario. Three people helped me while I was there -- THREE -- while simultaneously assisting other customers. It made me realize how much I miss dealing with real people who are knowledgeable and actually want to help. It just. Doesn't. Happen. But it happened at Kell's today. And it happens every time I've ever been there. Very thankful to have them right here in Lexington.
