I picked up their cookie decorating kit mid-pandemic. Kat was fantastically helpful at arranging a pick-up time - even when I didn't check my email until the night before. She said I could pick up the order at her location - or at the Westerville Farmer's Market as well. (I think she also does home delivery within Dublin right now!) The kit was so adorably packaged including a little ribbon, my name, and instructions. Unlike other cookie-making kits I've picked up in the past, all of the icing packets were also entirely clean (no frosting residue on the outsides), and the cookies were wrapped in two-pack packets to optimal freshness. I decorated the cookies two days later, and the cookies were still fresh. We're going on four days after pick-up, and they're still great to be eating and taste completely fresh. Interestingly enough, Cakes by Kat Bake Shop uses almond cookies and royal icing. I'm really used to cookie decorating kits including buttercream frosting. If you're used to buttercream, royal icing will behave a bit differently, but it also makes it possible to "fill out" the entirety of a cookie with frosting easily compared to buttercream's firmer consistency. It also has a different taste. If you have someone who doesn't like super-sweet treats, I recommend making them one of these cookies with minimal frosting. The almond cookie is designed to be "less sweet" while the majority of sugar-goodness comes from the royal icing. So you can easily make "cookie treats" for those in your family who don't have a huge sweet tooth. Fantastic experience with Cakes by Kat, and I'll likely be ordering more of her cookie decorating kits as the seasons change.

Some cold food, but I was on the way to work so couldn't get any. And some interesting imported drinks. I got a Mountain Dew and a Vimto, which says it is a "sparkling fruit flavor drink." There wasn't much sparkling going on, but it was pleasant and fruity. I would say mostly black currant, though the label also lists hibiscus, raspberry, and "black carrot." A handy little stop. Had what I needed and wanted, and more besides.

The first thing I got was a milkshake which was the consistency of water- so I gave it back to the girls who were working. She fixed the milkshake but handed me a flurry that was the SAME consistency as the first milkshake! The two workers then went in the back, where I could still see them and were obviously gossiping about us (the costumer). Normally, I really enjoy my experience at 1340, but today I was not impressed.

Specifically, I've ordered the pizza burger, the shredded chicken sandwich, and different ice cream products. The burger was greyish in color with a few cold pepperoni and the sauce on shredded chicken sandwich had clearly "broken" leaving it with a oily cottage cheese appearance. Nothing but the packaging appeared to be fresh. Most disappointing was the quality of the ice cream. My shake was inedible and the "two scoops" of other dish looked as if a teaspoon was used to portion the serving. Worst of all, my body violently rejected everything shortly after the last time we ate there. Wish them all the best, but it is clear the owner is absent and I will not be returning.

The quality and workmanship of their hive boxes was like no other. Robert uses select grade lumber, little to no knots or blemishes. We purchased two complete hives and two of the top feeders. They also have better prices than any other bee supply companies. We also purchased a nuc from Little LaRue Apiary. When I opened the top it was full of healthy beautiful Italian honey bees. It was so full of bees it was overflowing. When my mentor saw the pictures of my nuc she said, "that is a VERY nice nuc". I've been telling all of my new beekeeping friends that they need to check out little LaRue Apiary.

The cafe staff are the nicest people and great about answering questions. They have a normal menu with sandwiches, coffees, teas, and smoothies. They also do seasonal drink specials too. They have seating available, but most seem to be just passing through probably waiting for an appointment or visiting someone. There are more drink options here than at the main hospital.
