On a nice day you'll usually see pups running around together while families spread out across the park. There's plenty to do beyond the open field. The playground is great for kids, with slides, climbing ropes, and other fun features, and there are swings, a full basketball court, and a sand volleyball court nearby. The pavilion with picnic tables and charcoal grills makes it an easy spot to spend an afternoon. This is a pretty fantastic neighborhood park and a great place to relax, let the kids play, or simply enjoy watching happy dogs wear themselves out.

You do only get one reserved parking spot with that so any extra cars in your group will have to pay the park entrance fee ($20) and then will also have to find parking. There's plenty of parking but our friends had to park a little ways down since all the nearby parking was already taken. Our friends also forgot their life jackets so they had to go to the marina to rent some and it was $20 each. So make sure to bring yours! Definitely would like to come back!

It's a beautiful park…read morewith gorgeous sunset views out west, and it's the perfect venue for kite flying on a windy day. Just so we're clear, this is NOT where you go to see fireworks. Someone else reviewed, claiming it was a great place to go. It's not. There's a whole perimeter of large established trees that blocks most of the view of the entire valley down below. The idea is cool, but you're better off going up to Wasatch or Ensign for a valley view. This wasn't it. I suppose this is where you'd go if you were afraid of fireworks. It was very anticlimactic.

The park itself has become one of the gems of the Salt Lake City disc golf community, featuring an…read more18 hole course. The park has some beautiful big trees and is relatively flat aside from the hill on the west side, and there is the namesake creek that runs along the south edge of the park. It is one of the best disc golf courses around, and plays hosts to leagues and tournaments. The major problem here is that it is directly next to the Wasatch Charter School. When school is in session, parents have decided that the parking lot for Creekside Park is where they will pick up and drop off their kids. So for hours each day in the morning and afternoon, the parking lot is next to impossible to access being clogged by those cars. The other problem with the location next to the school, is that the school has decided that the whole park is a convenient recess location. Without notice, hundreds of children will come running over the hill and flood into all areas of the park, disrupting your quiet picnics or peaceful rounds of disc golf. Now if you're a disc golfer, you probably don't want to hit a little kid in the head (I swear all the "ten bonus point" jokes are only jokes). And if you're a little kid, you probably don't want to get walloped in the head by a hurdling disc of hard plastic. I'm not sure why the school just sends out all the kids unsupervised into the woods to run wild and pay absolutely zero attention to the disc golfers who are in the middle of a round, but at some point there are bound to be injuries. The park also has one large pavilion that can seat about 100 people, a small playground for the kids, and a sand volleyball area, so it is a good option for bbq's and gatherings. My advice is that it is a beautiful park, but if you're going to try to enjoy the park during the school year, to do so on the weekends.

The holes are not that long and the terrain is pretty mellow. Just watch out you don't go in the river! Some other parts of the park can be sketchy, but for the most part, it's very public and it's huge. I frequently come here by myself or with friends, and it's best enjoyed on a sunny day.
