We had this farm to table food truck present at a company event. We were offered tacos. They have to have a lot of different options available from sandwiches to skewers to toasts. Regarding the tacos, 2 came to an order and all the ingredients appeared to be fresh as one would imagine. I went with carnitas and squash tacos. I was not sure what specifically was on each, but the carnitas was the better of two. Each taco was loaded with plenty of toppings. The carnitas had an interesting sauce that was a good compliment. There were also greens and onions I believe. The meat was tender and juicy. The squash tacos seemed to have a sweet sauce, pineapples, and a few greens as well. It was alright. This truck was part of the Night Market in Burholme recently. The person who took my order was very nice. I ordered short rib tacos and a lamb burger. I normally don't eat lamb but the person in front of me ordered it and it smelled delicious and it was. The short rib tacos were also good with a good kick to it because of the kimchee. There was a time where I thought that I wouldn't believe in seeing a food truck dish out recipes made from farm fresh and locally sourced ingredients until I saw pigs fly. And in a way the flying pigs that were painted on this truck mural style did affirm that fact even if it wasn't in the way that I was intending. And overall it was hard not to fall for the overall presentation of the truck, which even had plant potters on it to showcase some of the fresh ingredients they were cooking with; or the refreshing recipes that the truck delivered with gusto. The seasonal menu changes almost daily, and is very equal opportunity for meat and veggie lovers alike, and can even be made vegan or gluten free if you ask. But whether its something like a sriracha and beer sausage sandwich with wilted spinach and apple ginger chutney; or a chopped apple salad with mixed greens, goat cheese, and maple glazed walnuts; you're sure to find something that will leave you salivating. The 2nd Street Festival menu was nearly impossible to order from because it touted a chicken sandwich that used Yards IPA, and amazing sounding shrimp tacos among other things. But the summer squash tacos sounded like divine providence; and were crafted with fresh ricotta cheese, lightly grilled onions, black peppers, and just a drop of honey for an epic and delicious victory. Farm Truck changes that, with a variety of veggie-friendly menu items all made from fresh & local ingredients. Some of the wonderful eats I've had include: - Roasted squash sandwich with rosemary goat cheese, spinach, turkey & mustard - White bean hummus sandwich with grilled asparagus, cucumber-dill salad on ciabatta - Tilapia scallion pancake - Buffalo mushroom on ciabatta with goat cheese, carrots & greens The art exhibit on the back of the truck is inspiring, and I love the way they display the ingredients they use in crates attached to the outside of the truck. I ate at the Farm Truck today and what a world of difference from a year ago! Back by popular demand, the truck made a return catering trip to my office. I went with the Roast Porkwich and it was excellent. I felt the broccoli rabe, sautéed onions and roasted fire peppers were farm-fresh. The thick cut roast pork was juicy and on point. The Gorgonzola spread added an extra touch of fun and flavor. I had to walk away from my sandwich for a meeting at one-point and found myself sitting there missing it. I didn't love the watermelon mint salad, but it was more so me not liking the watermelon/mint mix. I would have gone crazy if that was basil instead of mint. I reread my last review of the Farm Truck and I think our options for today were a little more creative with more vegetable options integrated with the meat. When I think of farm to table food, fresh veggies are one of the first things that come to mind. I know there's much more to that, but it's an important aspect to me. By the time my husband, small child and I got to the event where The Farmtruck was corralled, they were sold out of everything. This tells me that they must be doing something right. We waited about 15 minutes for them to re-up their ingredients and let me tell you, it was worth it. Two words: Pork Tacos. They were perfectly balanced. The tender pork melted into the perfectly cold-crunchy-spicy-sweet cucumber and pickled jalepeños with a creamy mayo delicately woven between. Their corn tortillas were soft, and their subtle flavor was the precise canvas needed for these delicious tacos. I would check out their ever changing menu again for certain. And the truck is really pretty too. The only reason why they get three stars is they were sold out of everything by the time we got there. Again, this is a good thing, and also bad. I'm going to be dreaming of some of these items daily from here on out. We worked with Kris directly on every step of the planning and menu selection process and all communication was super professional and prompt. He was so helpful and patient in answering all of our many questions throughout the complicated stages of planning and scheming. Every single thing on our custom menu was heavenly. Guests have been RAVING about the food long after the night ended, and our vegan guests keep reiterating how satisfied and cared for they felt given the menu items Farm Truck came up with for us. Another friday, another lunch truck outing at LOVE Park. Got the pork tacos (sesame ginger, slaw, house pickled jalapeño, chipotle mayo) and chilled asparagus soup (feta, crostini). The pork tacos were five star plus! Right amount of pork combined with the wonderful flavors of the jalapeno, slaw, and ginger. These couldn't have been any better except maybe for some homemade guacamole to go with them which was not sold at the truck. The chilled asparagus soup, was just not as good as it could've been. It definitely was made of asparagus and a lot of it. Unfortunately, it left a bad aftertaste for a long time. This soup looked much better on the menu than it tasted. 2 stars. Farm Truck is simply delicious. This food truck is part lunch truck, part mobile farmer's market, part art gallery. It's cool, it's healthy, and it's a really nice spin to the traditional food truck. It's run by two really friendly guys, Kris and Eliot. Everything they serve is healthy and local - they want people to know what they're eating and where their food comes from. I love that I can get a lunch for $4 - $8 that is unbelievably tasty and not covered in the usual food truck grease. I was an instant fan the moment I tasted their organic potato and leek soup. I can't even describe it as well as it deserves! Broth-based, with huge chunks of potatoes that melt in your mouth and just the right amount of white cheddar cheese hidden at the bottom of the cup. It comes with a slice of fresh bread, that's light and fluffy and toasted to perfection. Oh the bread is so good! Every single menu item gets rave reviews from my coworkers - the chipotle chili is next on my list to try, although it's so hard to part from the potato leek soup! I decided to stop here because I love the concept of a truck that uses local, sustainable ingredients to make good, simple food. I decided to go with the thai tacos, which were pretty tasty. They were made from thai-spiced chicken, jalapenos, and had some cilantro and onions on them. These were wrapped in a warm corn tortilla. 2 tacos per order for $8, which I thought was a little high, but I'm happy to pay a little more to support a truck like this. Visited the Farm Truck while they were serving at the Dad Vail Regatta. In all honesty, this truck is phenomenal. As a Cuban who lived in Miami for 7 years, my standards for Cuban sandwiches is very high. This was, bar none, up there with the classic Miami Cuban sandwiches - the pork was roasted perfectly and had just the right amount of mustard seeds. I got a chance to order at the Manayunk Streat Fest, & was excited because their line was super short. Pretty good. I wasn't blown away with my order, but it was solid. I ordered the pulled pork pancake, with bourbon crème fraiche and maple syrup. The pork was amazing, and the pancake was good as well, but we struggled to find how to tie it together. I think it would have been better if there had been more crème fraiche and if there had been a spice factor added in...say a honey chipotle infused maple syrup?? As soon as he handed me it I thought hmm that's way too light and when I got back to the office to have my $10 "ahi tuna sandwich" was just a large ciabatta roll with a few bean sprouts and 3 very tiny strips of dry tuna. My niece had Farm Truck of Philadelphia for her wedding last weekend. I have to admit I was skeptical when I heard food truck and wedding in the same sentence but was I ever wrong! The set up was casual, the appetizers exceptional, shrimp on a skewer and a bruschetta, served by wait staff moving through the guests during the cocktail hour... both were out this world yummy! Guests ordered from a menu of 3 or 4 choices which were made to order, not precooked. I had the turkey club with grilled corn on the cob! OMG it was amazing! I am certain the cost was less then the crazy prices some venues charge for your standard wedding meal that usually isn't very good. My fiance and I hired Farm Truck Philly for our wedding on 6/8/2019 and we booked more than a year in advance. When testing the food out at a local street event we loved EVERYTHING they served and were super excited to have them at our wedding since the pricing was right in line with our budget. Once we started getting closer to the date I inquired with the owner Kris about logistics of the day and requested we meet in person or have a call (since we never met before) and I was only responded to in email form and given very loose details. About a month before the wedding I requested to create the menu and was told I could choose from any item on the website under the "summer" or "spring" menu. We chose items and I got menus printed for my 100 guests. Fast forward to a week before the wedding and we were told by our day-of contact, Percy, that menu items would need to change based on "seasonal availability" and chef suggestions. I not only needed to get my menus reprinted once but TWICE, when three days before the wedding we were told another item wasn't available with the toppings we had selected. They arrived on time to the event and the food served at the cocktail hour and dinner was tasty, but what they NEVER ONCE informed me of is that the dinner items are served mini-sized and it's recommended that the guests get multiple. Since I was never told of this beforehand all my guests were extremely confused and only took small portions until half way through dinner when I learned that they were not regular entree-sized after having a freakout that there would not be enough food for my guests. All in all, I'd say save yourself the stress and go with a different caterer. I do not recommend for a large event. read more

The only reason I'm giving any stars is because the food was decent. We hired the Farm Truck for our wedding on 5/11/19. We booked them in March 2018 and at that time all our conversations were with Kris the owner. 2 weeks before our wedding we were told that the company was expanding and making a few changes so we were asked to sign an addendum to our contract from March 2018. We were told nothing would chance with our contract. At that point we were still under the impression that Kris was the owner as he stated they were making the company an LLC. The day of our wedding the Farm Truck showed up late. Mind you we hired them to do food for cocktail hour, the reception and late night. Our cocktail hour was to start at 430pm, I didn't walk down the aisle until almost 5pm as we had to push the wedding back due to the Farm Truck and our guest transportation being late. At 3pm I received an email the day of my wedding from the Farm Truck that they were running behind and that the contact person for our wedding had suddenly changed from the day before. Now what bride has their phone on them an hour before they are to get married. Our wedding coordinator was unable to get in touch with the Farm Truck that day as no one was answering their phones. The food for cocktail hour and the reception was still not ready on time even with everything being pushed back almost an hour. They stated they served everything we had chosen; however we did not see all the items and our guests stated they did not see the items we believed to be missing either. Also the food was not served out of the little window as pictured on their instagram and Facebook, instead it was served out of the passenger side door. Not one employee of the food truck apologized to my husband and I the day of our wedding. After our wedding I reached out to Kris, again who was the owner from the beginning our contact with the Farm Truck, who stated he heard what happened and would talk to his team and get back to me. A few days go past and I don't hear anything, so I reach out to Kris again and we have a few conversations back and forth. At that time I was told that someone would be contacting me as he (Kris) only does sales for the company now and no longer is the owner. This was of course a surprise to us. So we talked to two different guys Percy and Amrish who have been giving us the run around since the week after our wedding. Both state that it's not up to them to make a decision on what the company can do to make things right after the horrendous service they provided. Amrish at one point stated it's up to Kris, but Kris stated that's not true. Here we are a little over a month after our wedding and nothing has been resolved as no one from the Farm Truck has returned our calls. The company is so unprofessional and unorganized and it's clear the Kris, Amrish and Percy don't know who's in charge or what is going on. We were lucky to have the Farm Truck at our wedding reception! Working with Kris made the whole catering process easy. We met him over at Yards to try what they had and he sat and chatted with us while we ate and had a beer. As the date got closer Kris sent us a list of possible options, he also said anything not on the menu we could let him know and he'd be able to do it. We ended up doing two salads and three sandwiches (bahn mi, pork tacos, caprese sandwich), which were all great.
