Never had an issue. Used for numerous things from a full landscape to installing new timer box.

I paid to have hose bib put in and since the first day it has leaked in the trench they dug. He came by once to fix it but it is still leaking underground. I have now called 4 times for him to come and fix it. Maybe I should start charging him for my excess water. If he can't but in a simple hose bib do you really want him to put in an entire irrigations system? I would recommend him to anyone. read more

I have used Farmer Juan since I moved to the city of Maricopa in late 2010 to trim my trees a couple times a year. This spring I decided it was time to completely renovate my backyard and create a space suitable for my kids. I contacted a number of landscapers and and had them complete estimates. At the end of the proceeds Farmer Juan came out as the lowest by a significant amount. Farmer Juan was very professional and worked with me when I had a few concerns about how things were coming along. He had his crew make the necessary changes with no argument. The job was done very quickly and it looks better than even I had imagined it would. I would recommend Farmer Juan to anyone for any service ranging from yard cleanup and tree trimming to whole yard packages. read more

Wish I could give no star, or negative. We had a crisis, tree fell over in the yard, and hanging on neighbor's driveway. Called this guy who put us off for nearly a week. But he made big promises so we waited. Well here it is Friday, NO SHOW. I tried to call, no answer, text, nothing. I aint waiting for this unprofessional man. Juan redid my front yard. Yard looks great. Problem is he takes a very long time to respond. They were about two months behind on starting the project, which is fine, however, he did not communicate with me and let me know. I had to call and email numerous times to get a response. During the project, they broke stucco from the house. When I brought this to Juan's attention he first tried to say it was already there. When I assured him it wasn't he said he'll send one of his guys back out to fix the stucco. That was two months ago and I haven't heard from him. I have reached out to him because there are loose pavers on my front porch and nothing. I have reached out and asked him to come look at the water system he put in because plants are dying and a significant amount of grass is growing through the newly placed rock and nothing. Still haven't heard from him. It's upsetting to spend so much money on what feels like a job done halfway. Oh, and I asked to have the sidewalk lined with rock and lights. I guess that didn't happen. read more

Juan left us high and dry! We were under tight timelines to get our landscaping project done and he was a NO SHOW! He called a few times during his scheduled day to say he "was on his way" - never did show! Stalled our whole project!! Had to reschedule with others working on the project. DO NOT rely on this guy; he is terrible. So disappointed. read more

Overall we are pleased with the irrigation system work (replaced the cheap-ass vinyl tubing with PVC) & gravel replenishment Farmer Juan's crew did for us. The price was very reasonable. The best part was when they were done they did an excellent job cleaning up! Biggest complaint was they did not show up on the agreed day - and did not bother to call. Minor issues: they installed several capped emitters in case we want new plants,but I wish they had asked as they don't look very good - and our yard is 100% done. Also they used much larger water-flow emitters on some of the plants rather than the same ones we had - which had been working just fine. read more

I posted a review about 2 months ago with Farmer Juan. I ALWAYS want to give a person the benefit of the doubt. I read most of the reviews on here about Farmer Juan and I thought maybe he was having a bad day with some of the people. I owned a business for over 20 years. I realize there are people who just complain or want something for little or nothing. These are people that no matter what you do to please them are just not happy. I am NOT someone like this. I tend to look for the best in the people. After meeting with Juan and expressing my concerns about what I read in the reviews I felt I could trust him. He assured me that many of the issues were from his workers and he has hired all new crews to do the work. I will say that the crew that came here was outstanding. They were very polite and worked hard. From the point of the crew and their being a issue, I did not see this. While we did not see Farmer Juan much during the landscaping job his crew would arrive early in the morning and work all day. We did not have issues until he was almost finished with our landscaping. The pavers look great however there is a piece missing. I called him and sent him a picture of the missing piece and he said he would send someone out right away to fix it. That was several weeks ago. Since his crew planted our front yard we have had 1 large palm die and some of the plants are looking poorly. We asked him to please stop over and look at the palm and replace it with a living one. He told us he would come right out and look at the palm and replace it if it was dying. He set a date, but NEVER showed up. Now the large orange tree he planted has died and I am guessing I will eat the cost of this tree as well. There are a few other small issues he has told us he would fix however like many many other people he just NEVER FOLLOWS THROUGH! I never enjoy writing a bad review like this, but I want to warn others that this is how he does business. read more

I highly rate this gentleman and his crew. His rates are competitive with other landscapers. Juan is very conscientious about his crew doing things right. He even joins in and helps his crew complete the job. Our neighbors were impressed with the work he was doing that they made arrangements to have their yard completed by Juan. read more

My brother Eric gave Juan a positive review previously. Years ago when we first got to Maricopa my entire family (3 households) used Juan and were so pleased. He was friendly and professional, and his staff did a wonderful job. Over the years Juan became more popular, and started to get bigger projects. With that the yard clean ups became less of a priority and he started to run late. Two years ago I stopped using Juan after it took over a week to show up to do my yard. This year I thought about giving him a chance again. He came out promptly to estimate my yard. I talked about big projects that I had coming up, and he was excited and told me he'd love to work on those. I even told him how I was frustrated and stopped using him before due to his tardiness. He apologized but said he would be there later in the week. It took Juan over 3 weeks to come out, with multiple apologies and promises of "tomorrow" or "after 3 today." When I paid him he admitted that clean up jobs are not a priority, and the big jobs keep him too busy. I told him he should stop offering clean up jobs if he refuses the respect of a 30 second phone call. Juan's workers do a wonderful job on the yard, some of the best. But I would only call him again if I wanted to spend the next 2 months consistently calling to ensure he shows up. read more

Farmer Juan and his crew are the most unreliable landscaping business I have ever encountered. If they have a bigger job they have no problem not showing up to previously scheduled jobs and will not even so much as call. I have called the mornings of scheduled appointments to confirm and he has confirmed a time but will not show up. He has consistently blown us off. Once I saw his crew at another home doing sprinklers when he should have been at our house. When I called he never picked up. Can't leave a voicemail because it is always full (other angry customers perhaps). If you are looking for a big job he will move the sun and earth for you. If you are looking for maintenance please look elsewhere! read more

Very unfortunate our relationship did not last very long. Farmer Juan does fine work and is competitive in the market. However, it seems as he is more concerned with keeping his "big customers" than servicing homeowners in need of maintenance work. I had an experience where he was hired to do a full backyard and frontyard landscape. When we had problems with the sprinkler system he installed and our "lifetime warranty" plants died, he was nowhere to be found. When we called about our agreed monthly maintenance work, he did not respond. Thank you for ignoring the little guy!!!! read more

If I could give him 0 stars I would. We needed a landscaper to fix up our backyard and then provide us with routine maintenance year around. We found farmer Juan through a friend. The day he came out to assess the situation and provide a quote, he came 5 hours late and we had to call HIM to inquire when he would arrive after not showing up within the window he gave us. Then we agreed on a price and a date. No one showed up when we had scheduled. We called and left a message and no one returned our call within 3 days so we called again and were advised his team had a large job on that day and it ran over schedule. We made a second appointment. No one showed up... AGAIN. We called and spoke with Juan himself who swore his team were out at our house and that the job was done. After apologizing profusely we rescheduled once again and were told Juan himself would accompany his crew to ensure it got done. No one showed up. We called and left a message and never heard back. We have since taken our business elsewhere. read more

Juan's crew came out a day earlier than promised and worked for 2 hours to make our "sow's ear" of a yard into a "silk purse". They were amazing with their detail and their work ethic. We called Juan for tree trimming (He did some for us a couple of years ago) He called , showed up, went over the work and called his crew to come over. 1/2 hour later they started, did everything to my complete satisfaction (including some irrigation repairs that we added on) and finished in the rain with a great clean-up. The next day Juan came over made sure we were happy and collected what I thought was a very fair fee. read more

He replaced a watering system and took care of a few other landscape items. Had some issues post-installation regarding system leaks and did not feel Farmer Juan addressed them in a timely and courteous manner. Calls not returned, did not show up when he said he would.. Very stressful as I paid him $2,000 and was expecting some follow up. Instead it was more like a disappearing act. I had to incur additional expense to further troubleshoot the problem. Needless to say I will definitely NOT use him again nor would I recommend him to others. read more
