Farmers switched my agent to Burleson Insurance when my agent of 15 years stopped carrying Farmers…read more I had problems with Burleson form the begining. First, I was not informed of the change nor was I given an opportunity to choose a different agent. When contacted by Burleson via phone I thought it was a sales call from a marketer and didn't respond... Then they cancelled my insurance. After getting that straightened out, I requested several quotes because I noticed my rates had increased. I was quoted outrageous rates. After reducing coverage and dropping vehicles that were garaged Burleson got my rate to a manageable amount. I previously had a commercial policy that covered several vehicles and had to switch to a personal policy to afford the increase. Evidently they're was a balance left on the commercial policy that I was never informed of. I received a collection letter from an attorney, Keep in mind I'm still with Burleson at that time. I contacted the attorney who was extremely rude and threatening. He treated me like a criminal. Upon finding that this was about insurance thru Burleson. I contacted their office and spoke to my agent. He looked into it. Seems that any overdue amount is automatically sent to collections after 30 days. I was never informed that I had an overdue amount and had spoken with my agent several times during this 30 days and he never told me there was a balance due on the cancelled policy. So I paid them the balance and we got that problem straightened out. Then the first six months for two vehicles and three drivers was around 375 per month. I could manage that. When the policy renewed it went up to 945 per month. The renewal was automatic and so was the bank draft. I didn't realize how high the rate was until after several months. So I started shopping around. I found the same coverage with a different carrier for 275.00 per month. When I contacted Burleson to inquire why their rates were so high. I was told that they had a lot of complaints and cancellations. These people are ridiculous.
