I had motorcycle insurance through Allstate with a local agent (Machelle) (Not a typo), beginning several years ago. In February of 2016, I got a new bike and requested that coverage of my old bike be stopped at the end of the month. In March of 2016 my credit card information changed and in April I received a call requesting payment. At this time I was explicitly told that the second bike had been removed from the plan and I was only paying for the 1st bike. I said ok and absentmindedly paid the bill, resumed automatic payments and forgot about it. In February of 2017 my credit card was stolen and I received a call a month later requesting payment for my policy covering both bikes. At this point I called the local agent (Machelle) who told me it was my fault the bike hadn't been removed since I didn't catch it earlier, despite two phone conversations where I was thoroughly reassured that this had taken place. I called the national office who told me that without a bill of sale proving I sold the bike, they were unwilling to compensate me for the error in any way. The price was right for the insurance, but this experience went wrong in so many ways. What if I had a wreck and they had somehow messed up and never initiated proper coverage--Would they then leave me hanging? People make mistakes--good people correct them. I feel the mistake made was kind of large, but the response of refusing to correct it in any way is extremely disappointing--not to mention Machelle's rude and condescending attitude.

An employee here almost ran me and my child off the road this morning. She was driving 55mph on…read moreRose st (which is 35 mph) and almost went up on the curb to try and get by me. I had to slam on my breaks and I had my kid in the car. We were going the same direction so I pulled in behind her and when she got out of her car attempted to inform her that she was driving recklessly and to slow down. The woman ignored me until I laid on my horn and all she said was "I'm late to work" and then b-lined into Miranda Insurance Agency with no thought, apology or care that she almost hurting someone. The woman is a curly haired brunette driving a grey dodge Durango with stickers on the back window. I'm not sure who she is at the agency but she works there, which is pretty ironic. Someone who is supposed to be selling safety and protection is being reckless and risking other people's safety cause she can't manage her time well. I have kids that deserve a safe community to live in and this woman could care less about her surroundings, selfishly endangering others. What if that was my kid learning how to drive or an elderly person just trying to make it home? I was just lucky I caught her out of the corner of my eye. And note to the driver if you read this, learn something from it - you are not in a large city where you are faceless and nameless. We are in a small town where small businesses can thrive or tank based on word of mouth. You need to remember that what you do in and out of work all leads back to you and can affect your career and what is said about you/your company in a small town. Do better next time.
