For example, recently purchased some super tender okra from here--and it's the middle of winter. They encourage me to take all the time that I want to scan the various condiments. Hot and cold prepared foods were added along the way. PP's corner stall has been a presence in Eastern Market for many years. They fill a niche.

Whenever I pass by this stall, their kimchi is exceptionally bright red with white opaque nappa leaves which tells me everything they have is made fresh and there is a quality control. Eastern Market has a great selection of vendors, but this one in particular feels like a mini market seeing that you can get many specialty things from here. Like an Asian market, they are highly seasonal to Asian ingredients so I would come here for that! But do pay special attention to their small bites. We got their kimbap which had a glossy shine from the sesame oil. Each ingredient was well-seasoned and masterfully rolled right in its seaweed paper. Their pork skewer was also so delicious, with a great char and sweet soy marinate. So glad we turned the corner from the produce side and made it to their ready-made food selection. This is a really well rounded stall.

I want to kick myself for letting it take this long. It is always so vibrant here, tons of people coming and going. Ample parking, both on and off street. A bunch of outside seating and just a crowd that is happy to be here. Then, inside, get ready for a sensory overload. All the aromas from all the different stalls will make you second guess where you will grab some grub. Then you might also want to graze...err, I mean browse on what to take home. I love exploring this place. I wandered around for quite some time until I zeroed in on where to eat. Even though this place is always so busy, it feels intimate enough to be alone in a sea of people. With that, I give you review 4400!

We decided to do our own little food tour within the market and sample some bites from a few stalls. We tried: 1. Masala dosa from Sambar & Spice. This may have been one of the best dosas I've ever had, and I'm not exaggerating. So epic! A must try, 2. Chicken dumplings from Laobun - soft, freshly prepared and melt in your mouth good. Also affordable! 3. Fish tacos from the famous seafood spot. These were sadly my least favorite item on our little food tour, the slaw was overpowering but if removed the pan seared fish was flavorless. 4. Wrapped up with some matcha and iced coffee - can't go wrong with those. Enjoyed browsing the little artisan stalls as well. An amazing stop on my trip to DC!

I love Wisteria Gardens for their greens. My favorites are the pea shoots, watercress, and…read morepurslane, but lately I've also been buying their salad greens or micro greens as well. Their greens are so fresh and delicious. If I was going to a party and not making my own salsa, I would probably get salsa and chips from here. They offer a nice variety and everything is tasty. I agree with Pam about the inconsistent pricing. It used to be $4 for what they considered a small bag of greens (but enough for weekday lunches for once person if mixed with another bag), but now it is $3, and I think the bags are smaller. The woman I always see working is sort of friendly - perhaps a bit more now that she recognizes me.

Better than Costco at the food samples! Wisteria Gardens is a reliable, local greens and…read moresauces/dips/dressings option at Eastern Market. They have (overpriced $4!) chips and pitas, and all of those amazing sauces and dips to try on pita or chips, as well as an expanding albeit inconsistent repertoire of greens. Make sure to use the little utensils to get samples (no dipping of chips!) or you might get reprimanded. MY FAVES I especially like the Indian curry hummus, Quinoa salad, Spicy Cilantro salsa, and the Peanut Sauce. They also have other salsas, dips, salad vinaigrette, and other hummus options. I know they just started branching out into bottled sauces, so keep an eye out for new stuff! $$$ Prices can run a little steep, but everything is fresh and packed on dry ice for display. This isn't Pace salsa, you're going to have to put this in the fridge as soon as you get home. Container for dips, sauces, etc are bigger than 2 decks of cards, smaller than a Steno half notebook(4oz?). *3 containers for $12 *1 container for $4.5 *$4 for chips alone GREENS Think you hate salad? This place demonstrates what salad mixes are supposed to look like(micro greens!). Sometimes they even have edible flowers in 'em and usually run around $5. I don't like salad, but this stuff is actually very appetizing and visually appealing too (sugar snap pea shoots! marigolds!). Of course I throw chicken and a little dressing on top of it, but I digress. They do run out of greens rather early though, so don't dawdle. LOCATION Usually they're under the overhang on 7th in front of Eastern Market on Saturdays and Sundays. Why are these amazing ppl getting 4.25 stars instead of 5? They've been steadily raising their prices (it was $10/4 sauces last spring! Now it's $12/3 hence) and are inconsistent on what they have/run out of stuff.

Here's the latest and greatest vendor list from 2023: Timber Pizza - Scrumptious wood-fired pizza with a pillowy soft crust. I can't count on how many fingers and toes I've had the pizza at different farmer's markets! While the lines can get long 12:30pm, you only have to wait for 15 minutes. Taco Dirty To Me: Crispy battered cauliflower tempura tacos, bursting with flavor! Bun'd' Up - Delicious fried tofu and mushroom in squishy soft bao buns topped with microgreens, scallions, and a nice creamy aioli sauce. Light and tasty! Urban+ade - Refreshing lemonade with less sugar than classic lemonade. The Sage & Tarragon is my favorite! Veg Heaven - Decadent sweet treats, the dark chocolate cookies and brownies are the best! While the cakes are moist, they aren't as tasty. Taco Loco - Giant burritos are amazing! There's a swarm of people waiting in line, so be prepared to wait 10-15 min before ordering and then another 5 min for your order! The mango and watermelon juice are refreshing. Hipp Sippin' - Cold-pressed juices and acai bowls made to order. Ravenhook Bakery - Great selection of freshly baked loaves of bread and baked goods. DMV Empanadas - They sell out fast! While the empanadas has a nice crispy hard shell and with so many flavors to choose from, they are a bit bland and overloaded with bland cheese. The Spinach and Cheese or the Bacon and Cheese didn't quite hit the spot, hubby like the Chicken. Al Volo Cucina: While I wasn't a big fan of the greasy eggplant parm subs. I wish they brought back the fresh juices (the watermelon and mango juices) were amazing! Wonderful market with plenty of delicious and diverse options to choose from.
