Also I let my phone number just in case the car needed more repairs because I bought the car with 100.000 miles for 700 pounds. When I went to pick up the car the total cost of the reparation was 740 pounds, they didn,t even call me to know if I agree to spend up to the 740 pounds. They also didn't inflate the tyres after paying so much money.

I was lucky that the incident happened not a block from Halfords, so we limped in there with no appointment, not even a call ahead -- just rolled in with a flat tyre, and they were able to take the car right away. They had to get the right kind of tyre from somewhere else, but that turned out to be only a 20-minute wait. I don't know how auto repair usually goes in the UK, but in the US, even a tyre change could've required hours of waiting. The mechanics were all nice people, too. I was feeling deeply embarrassed and discouraged, as an American who hadn't yet worked out how to drive on the left, but everyone I spoke with was cheerful and helpful, as if they actually enjoy working there, and no one tut-tutted at the damage or gave me any hint of an attitude; it may sound like a small thing, but being treated with friendly respect when I was feeling like a foreign idiot meant a lot to me -- their cheerfulness and professionalism helped to steady my nerves so I was able to face driving again once the car was repaired. And the efficiency meant we were back on the road in under an hour. Fortunately, I quickly got much better at driving on the left, so there were no more incidents, but if there had been any need for more repairs, I would've wanted to come to Halfords.

Absolute scam merchants- avoid at all costs rude and unhelpful to boot…read more My car failed it's MOT due to rear brake issues (uneven brake force) at the Salisbury Kwik Fit who decided they were too busy to do the repairs and suggested going to another branch. I work in Newbury so it was the logical choice. After 'inspecting' the car they tried to convince me that the problem was that the brakes at the front needed replacing (to solve a rear brake issue!) and became very confrontational when I asked for a reason for this work being carried out. The best they could come up with was 'air in the brakes' - despite there being no sign of this. The staff I dealt with, one of who I presume to be the manager as he was in a shirt rather than the usual uniform, we're evasive, unhelpful and In the case of the manager he tried to be agressive and intimidating using scare tactics to try and get me to agree to the work. When I declined the work and picked the car up the wheels had not ever been taken off - the cable ties holding the wheel trims in are still in place. When pressed they said they had looked at the rear drums, opened and inspected them and found nothing wrong- an outright lie. Having now taken the car to my local mechanic to have the work carried out, there was a cylinder in the rear drum that had ceased - a £20 part - and nothing to do with the front brakes that I was told needed to be replaced. For peace of mind I also had the front brakes checked and they were found to be well within acceptable wear limits and perfectly safe to drive. Thankfully I am competent when it comes to cars and actually do a fair amount of my own maintainance so was able to spot a con but I'm sure many people would have bought into it and agreed the work - and it still wouldn't have passed an MOT afterwards. So, never again will I use Kwik Fit and I will do my very best to make others aware of their shoddy ways.

Once I reported it they got angry on me and blamed me for leaving money in the car. I understand I should have not left the money inside the car. But does that mean they nick it!!!. Be ware of them, they nick the small amount and guess what they can steal any original part of your car and fit any rubbish!!!. Just be aware of them. This is not all, they raised their voice at me and shown me the door and shut the door hard after me. It is not about money, but they blamed me instead of apologising and investigating the incident. I did not expect them to return my money and neither I asked for it. But just one liner Apology from them and assurance of looking into the incident would have satisfied me(Though they could have decided not to look into the incident, but what would have costed them to assure me to investigate the incident and apologise!!!!, no brain, no sense of speaking to customer. Simple attitude of keeping the customer happy would have not made me to write my pain here. Their behaviour pained me more than the money loss!!!

Took my car to MR CLUTCH in Basingstoke and had a new clutch and gear box installed for £1900…read moreOnce i collected my car i had an awful grinding sound coming from the engine, i returned and my car had to sit in the garage for another half a day for the problem to get rectified. When i collected my car after having a drive i noticed problems listed below: No reverse lights No parking cameras No Cruise control No speed limiter No hill start/auto hold Handbrake faulty System failed appearing on DASH. I have now had to take my car to Nissan and am awaiting a full report. When i was in the garage complaining about these issues the technicians told me that there diagnostics machines were rubbish and that the tools supplied were rubbish so most of them brought in there own. I now have to pay nissan to sort out my car whilst MR CLUTCH carry's out an investigation but have already been told that i was lying about what the technicians have said, I have witnesses to prove that isnt the case, Awful experience i hope they resolve the matter ASAP and send over there investigation to me.

I went to Taj Quick Fit Hounslow a Week ago and the MOT Tester really p***** me off when he Took…read morealmost 2 Hours to check my Car and at the end it failed the MOT and tried hard to force me to do the repairs from their own Mechanics Who gave me a total of £350 quotation which Included changing of rear fog light bulbs for (£25 plus VAT). Next day I went to another MOT Station Nearby and the guy put the Bulb and re tested the MOT without any problem and charged me £5 for the Fog Light Bulb. All I say is these Peoples in Hounslow are really crooks they try their best to convince peoples that their cars had serious peoblem and need repairs from their own Workshop which is totally a Scam.
