Just moved to the area and the anxious person that I am was nervous about my dog seeing someone new (we had been to the same vet for the last several years in Houston.) Dr. Gittings made all my nerves disappear. She was very thorough with the exam and genuinely listened and addressed all my concerns. The tech, Ladasha was so sweet and gentle with my dog too. The office staff was nice and friendly. We came back for a second visit to see a vet tech and she was so sweet and kind to my pups. I felt like my pups was safe when they took her back. I also appreciate that the office accepts care credit, as anyone with a pet knows that their visits can get expensive over time. Overall I am excited to have picked this place. Losing a beloved pet is one of the hardest things a person can go through, and I want to begin by thanking the veterinary team and Dr. Hood, who supported me during the incredibly painful decision to say goodbye to my sweet girl. In that awful moment, they were compassionate, gentle, and present. I will always be grateful for that. But sadly, the care and kindness stopped there. When I returned to pick up her remains, the experience couldn't have felt more different. The front desk person was on the phone, which I understand--clinics are busy places. But while I stood there, barely holding myself together, I could hear and see three staff members in the back laughing loudly and carrying on, who had clearly seen me. I waited in silence for ten long minutes before one of them finally shouted from the back room, asking, "Do you need something?" I was in pieces. I wasn't about to yell across rooms for my pet's ashes. Eventually, one woman came out. She looked annoyed, rolled her eyes, handed me a small bag, and turned around and walked away. No words. No eye contact. No compassion. Just... ouch. That moment hurt. It still hurts. After everything, that final goodbye felt cold, rushed, and disrespectful. I understand people have off days, but this wasn't a moment for carelessness. I hope this feedback is taken to heart, because grieving pet parents deserve tenderness and dignity from beginning to end. read more

Farrell Animal Hospital has been our vet since we moved to Pantego 3 years ago. I have always had a good experience with them. We saw them very frequently for a while when our cat had terminal kidney disease. When we had to say goodbye to her, while nothing can make that situation better, but they were respectful, empathetic, and dignified. I like the vets very much and the techs are also extremely kind and friendly, and always seem to be genuinely happy to see your fur-baby when they come in. We will continue to be with this vet for the foreseeable future. I don't have any complaints about them. read more

The staff at Farrell Animal Hospital are all so kind and exceptional! When I adopted my dog almost a year ago, they were so gentle with my dog. She was very anxious when I first got her, but the staff made her feel welcomed and she easily opened up to them. They would give her lots of pets and love at every visit. I tried going to a different vet that was closer to home, but the environment just wasn't the same as Farrell. When I took my dog in to get her nails trimmed, the person who came to get her at curb side was yanking on her and traumatized her. I knew at that point that the drive to Farrell is worth it because I know they will treat my dog like their own. read more

We had a very bad experience with yearly check-up and shots for our 2 dogs. The vet tried to sell us several things that were unnecessary and when we politely declined she tried to make us feel guilty by saying those are things she does for her own dog. I do not recommend this veterinarian and will not go back. read more

Excellent. From my experience, Dr. Gaines is knowledgeable about spine issues. I would definitely recommend this place. The staff is always available to talk to you. Seem genuinely concerned about the animal and want to fix the problems. My dog was exhibiting issues we needed help with and after taking them to another vet, and getting a shrug and a 500.00 bill, I turned to Yelp and Google. Reluctantly, I tried this location as I am new to the area and unfamiliar with the good vets, and I definitely scored. Prices seem reasonable considering. Old building but very clean. read more

I'm very happy to have switched from Banfield hospital (Petsmart's in-house veterinary care concept) to Farrell Animal Hospital. At Banfield we did the vet roulette. My dog has knee issues so I would have to explain the details again every time we'd go in. Here they had a vet come in to do my initial check up, then they asked if I'd like to stick with the same vet or try someone else for my next visit. Dr. Gaines and the assistants are always friendly and knowledgeable and take care of my dog like he is their own. The receptionists are very friendly and the facilities are well kept. The prices seem reasonable considering what I spent at Banfield for similar services. I'll definitely be going back to Farrell Animal Hospital for many years to come. Dr. Turner took over 45 minutes in an exam room explaining a procedure to me and making me feel comfortable with it. He is an extremely kind vet and really cares about the animals he sees. He squeezed my dog in for surgery on a day he typically doesn't do surgeries. Really clean facility and all staff I met were friendly and professional. I can't recommend his practice more! read more

After getting financially screwed by my previous vet, I decided it was high time to take my business elsewhere. For the last few years I had heard good things about the people at Farrell and had referred 3 different people, with great results. The first time we took our labs the folks were great and quickly sent us a thank you card signed by everyone at the clinic. They obviously care about customer service and promptly sent an evaluation card for us to fill out and asked who they should thank for recommending us. Our older labrador retriever is 10 and we always fret over her aging, so when Hubby took her in they spent a lot of time explaining her fatty tissue tumors and put my frantic man at ease. When it came time for shots, the Dr was really patient, took 30 minutes to chat with my husband, and the actual Doctor, not a tech, called the next day to say that my old girl is in super health. Her teeth are also improving with some fluoride you add to the water (we got it at obedience class), and they sold us the brand they carry. My man is in love with this vet and we continue to recommend him to everyone! read more

Farrell is the best! They know you and your pets by name. All the techs are kind and knowledgeable. I've seen all three doctors-- we usually see Dr. Gaines, but I'd trust any of them. I have two Corgis and we've been in there for a multitude of random issues as well as routine care. Their prices are always fair and the care they give to your pets cannot be beat. Their front desk staff always calls to check on the pups a few days after any injuries or illnesses. I've been to many other vets, but Farrell Animal Hospital is the one I recommend to everyone.
