The staff on the phone was patient and kind. When we arrived, the front desk team was welcoming, and the Vet Tech was incredibly thorough, taking the time to listen and take detailed notes. Dr. Tran is fantastic. He is personable, professional and, most importantly, he actually took my concerns seriously. Let me start by saying this place may have good reviews and that's great if you're looking for an experienced and compassionate Vet. Everyone wants the best care for their animals. So I checked this place out. Called them and had to reschedule. I talked to this specific receptionist several times her name was "Lynn". She was condescending, and rude over the phone. I was simply trying to get a new Vet for our animals since we moved. She had a horrible attitude. I can't imagine how she treats her partner...that is if she even has one. A huge turnoff to say the least. At one point in the conversation I simply asked how much the services were just to be curious, she essentially belittled me because I ask. She then proceeded to let me know they had payment plans for $200 worth of vaccines. Nevertheless, as I said we all want excellent treatment for our animals, children, and ourselves. I can only imagine if she was this rude, and condescending how would the people above her, and above them etc treat my pet. Now, for obvious reasons I never went in, the service from Lynn was unacceptable. I hope that someone who cares for their animals reads this and takes my caution There is no excuse for this, and like with anything in life- company, relationship, leadership etc it always starts at the bottom. I have to counter what "Jax" wrote about cropping Doberman ears. I have two boys from the same litter and got the procedure done at the same time. The vet and staff were very clear on what we needed to do to get the results we wanted. I also want to note that having two males from the same litter they can get a bit rambunctious and we still managed to keep their wounds from being infected. We have a large dog run and let them play a bit. I don't know what that other reviewer had happen, but I wouldn't recommend boarding your Doberman while their ears are still healing and Definitely use the donut in the photo. Again, we had zero issues and this vet guarantees their work by including the pinning. We took them every 10-14 days to get repinned and it's a drive from Rockwall, but we'll worth it. Have been bringing my dogs here for a few years now. The employees are always very kind and caring. This time they had me text in a video of my dog's injury to make sure she needed to be seen and squeezed me in same day. There were several people/dogs in the waiting room when I was checking out and my Doberman kept pulling really hard on the leash. I'm pregnant and it caused me a lot of pain. The vet noticed and held her leash for me while I waited. He even helped me load her into my vehicle. A lot of vets are kind, caring, good at their jobs, and obviously love animals, but the little things like this are why we love this place. Simple things put them above the rest. read more

We are relatively new to the area and so we came to Creature Comfort. We had brought our Doberman in on Mother's Day very sick. Unfortunately we had to put him down. Dr Tran was amazing,compassionate and very understanding as well as the staff. That was a hard day for us. A few months later we welcomed another puppy into our home. Dr Tran was very thorough in checking the puppy out making sure she was the picture of health. A week or two later the puppy got hurt, fractured her leg I ran to the vet without calling and again the staff was amazing ! They got us in and fixed up and back home playing. Took in my 12 week doberman for them to crop her ears, staff is friendly and everything but the work was done poorly. Doctor removed staples after it was fully "healed" and bandages as well but she still had an open wound on both ears. Which to my understanding staples and stitches are kept on until is funny healed. They also have her a donut, for her not to scratch her ears which later on had said not to put anything that could rub and open the wound. WHICH THE DONUT THEY GAVE ME. Had to call this morning to see if i could bring my dog back in bc the wounds just looked horrible. They had me waiting for about 6hrs until i got a call back. Doctor told me not to "clean" it but thats how wounds become infected after not cleaning them. I always had to ask what was the process after they took off the bandages and staples because they simply did not explain anything. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND FOR EAR CROPPING. read more

We came to Creature Comforts by virtue of a recommendation for a vet for our 11 year old lab (As seen in my profile pic). The vets here are all top-notch doctors and really care about pets and what they mean to your family. We've been to other vets that have more 'polished' offices or 'premium' locations, but lacked the personal touch we've found at Creature Comforts. It may not have a marble lobby or leather sofas in the waiting area, but the care of animals is their focus, and that shows from the reception desk staff on through to the doctors. Their hours are awesome (Open Sunday!) and follow-up during off hours is EXCEPTIONAL. There's good consistency between the doctors, so you don't fret if you don't get 'your doctor' for a visit or call. They have on-site boarding, which is nice too. Can't recommend them highly enough - we love our big pooch and can tell that the staff and docs at Creature Comforts do too! read more

Follow-up: We were contacted by Creature Comforts. They apologized profusely for the poor communication regarding the extra charges and vowed to make it up to us. We're more than satisfied with the proposal they came up with. We had no complaint on the quality of the care and services they provide. MURDER!!! DO NOT TRUST "DR" JUSTIN TRAN!!! I have held off this review for months, while talking to others and trying to find solace in this circumstance. But I have only come to realize now, that there is no longer any doubt, that my family was wronged in this situation. Me and my wife brought our elderly chihuahua, Lily, to Creature Comfort for an upset hernia. We were then pressured by Dr. Justin Tran to bring Lily in for a $1700 surgery. After 2 weeks, I managed to round up the money with the help of friends and family. On three separate occasions, my wide and I brought up to Justin our concern of Lily's age (18+) and the potential dangers of going into surgery. Every time, he was quick to assure us that "it will be fine" and that he will be "extra careful." With the money in hand and Lily looking healthier than when she came in 2 weeks prior, we decided to trust Justin and bring her in for surgery. A few hours later, we received a phone call from Justin Tran with his nonchalant tone of voice, and all of our fears were realized. Lily passed, after anesthesia was administered and before surgery even began. While on the phone, I asked him why did this happen and brought up how he repeatedly told us that this was not going to be an issue. He responded by first saying "i don't know" and "this kind of stuff JUST HAPPENS." He then continued to blame his coworker, who administered the anesthesia and then blamed ME for not bringing in Lily any sooner. As a "consolation," he said he wont charge for the surgery, only for anesthesia. Thanks Doc! You won't charge me for the surgery you didn't perform?! How generous! JUSTIN TRAN is easily the worst veterinarian I have ever come across and one of the worst types of people on this planet. He has zero passion for his job and is completely incapable of taking any responsibility for his own actions. I took his quick decisions as confidence and experience, but I was HORRIBLY betrayed. DO NOT make the same mistake as I did, leaving a life in his hands. DO NOT get scammed as I did, believing in his words. To him, your sick family members/pets are not patients, they're opportunities to make a quick buck. In conclusion, my experience here has left me with great sadness, regret, anger, a dead family member (Lily), a depressed brother that came from the same litter as Lily, and a $300 bill for the anesthesia that killed her. I can now only hope that this review will save at least one life from being taken by Justin Tran. read more

Let me start off by saying this vet is so awesome and accommodating. We've been taking my dog Duke to this vet for almost 2 years and even before we had a lab that we took to them as well. Our dog Duke is pretty crazy and it takes a good vet to understand him and I feel like they have been nothing but awesome with helping us with him and handling his craziness. They do doggy daycare and boarding which we've had no issues with, and if we've had any issues with our pup they are always so quick to answer and help us without hesitation. Chris and Berry, the vets that run the clinic, are great! I saw them regularly for 12 years. They literally cared for my beloved German Shepherd Eva from cradle to grave. They saved her life as a puppy when she had parvo and helped ease her pain and to end her suffering with great care in her last years. They also took great care of my Miniature Dachsund Gretta who's still alive and kickin'. These guys were always honest, even when it meant they might lose a sale and were very reasonably priced. They were very compansionate. And they always took the time to explain things and were always available by phone. They have great hours too. The vets I had in Dallas and California were WAY more expensive and the hours sucked. They also have a kennel which is wonderful and they care for the animals well. The floors are heated and spaces are large. I highly recommend these guys. They are great and I miss them. UPDATE: 7/18/12 It's been 5 1/2 years since I moved away from Arlington to Dallas and later to San Francisco. Despite the long gap in patronage to Creature Comfort, Chris and Barry still remember me and my dogs when I call and are willing to help. I have never received service like this before from anyone, much less a vet. They are always quick to transfer records to my new vet when I move. They will take calls from my new vet to discuss my pet. They even help me out when I have questions about what my vet in California is recommending. And did I mention that they did not charge me for any of this? I have yet to find another vet that comes close to Creature Comfort in terms of compassion, quality of care, and value. This is not my usual vet- but my back up for issues my vet doesn't handle. My first encounter was with Dr. Fletcher. My oldest dog (only child at the time) had a growth on his gums. He gets really cranky when you start prodding at him, but Dr Fletcher was a pro and gave him lots of love and treats. They ended up keeping him overnight since he was really sleepy so they could monitor him closely. He had a recurrence a few years later, and naturally I called Dr. Fletcher first without bothering my primary vet. She even remembered him, even though I hadn't been back since the first visit. She is highly recommended! Next experience is ongoing with my baby- he has been having issues with his knee- and Dr McGrath has orthopedic experience so we came to visit her this time. Good note- anything pre operative gets credited toward surgery. This was a selling point when I was calling around for consult costs back in May. I was disappointed I've had to be in twice for xrays because they couldn't sedate him the first time- so just make sure you know all your options and ask the vet what they prefer/recommend before commiting. Don't know if he needs surgery yet, but will update the review after he is squared away. read more

Great prices, wonderful vet. Some other places are listed in Arlington as "low cost vaccinations" but aren't as affordable as this place. They saw my pup and I quickly, and even squeezed him in for a grooming session the very next morning. However, he did have to have an additional vaccination for the grooming (canine flu vaccine) and I think this might have made him sick although I wasn't really warned that it could. Hence, the lack of the 5th star. He got over his sick in a day or two, and his grooming job was excellent. I'm pretty particular about how I like his coat managed (he is a poodle) and they did a wonderful job and listened to every thing I asked for. He's an easy dog to groom since he has been groomed from the age of 6 weeks and is now almost 4 years old. Definitely choose this place over any other in the S. Arlington area. read more

I could not have been more pleased with Creature Comforts Animal Clinic and Dr Fletcher! My dog had a tumor that needed to be removed, and my (other) vet recommended Creature Comforts for their laser surgical capability. I was apprehensive to take my dog (a sometimes grumpy, blind senior) to a new doctor, but my nerves were totally unfounded. Dr Fletcher is awesome! She did a thorough pre-op exam on my dog including digital photos and gave me a line item estimate of the cost of the surgery. Surgery is never cheap, but I feel confident that I was charged a fair price based on this detailed information. Our regular vet had recently done a full panel of blood work on my dog, and Dr Fletcher was willing to use those results that I brought in, saving my dog from having to undergo another blood draw and saving me from the added cost. I was obviously nervous on the day of my dog's surgery, but within a few hours of dropping off my dog, Dr Fletcher personally called me to let me know that surgery had gone well! I was both relieved at the news and impressed that she made the time to call me herself. When I picked my dog up that afternoon, Dr Fletcher again took the time to meet with me and answer all my questions. I was surprised at how small the incisions were (only a few stitches for each). Laser surgery lives up to the hype! Finally, a few days later Dr Fletcher called me yet again to let me know my dog's histopathology results (benign!) and to check on her progress. The level of care and attention my dog and I received at Creature Comforts exceeded all of my expectations. I highly recommend this facility and Dr Fletcher! read more

I had newly adopted a puppy a week ago from Ft Worth and was recommended a Ft Worth vet office to take puppy to for a free wellness exam. This place was dirty, the doctor was extremely rude to his technician and the technician pestered my puppy so much that he started to bite/attack (thus required a muzzle). I was SO dissatisfied with this service that I searched around online for a better one, and was led to Creature Comforts. Dr. Jenkins is an extremely kind and knowledgable man, and while my puppy was a little scared at first (growling), Dr. Jenkins and I were able to keep him calm for the rest of his checkup. The appointment did not feel rushed at all (the Ft Worth vet appt. was very rushed) and I was given a plethora of information on good dog food choices, medicinal recommendations, etc. I was also given a generous sample of puppy food that he considers the best among all. At the end of the appointment, Dr. Jenkins told me that his office also offers a free wellness exam for adopted shelter animals, and he covered the $45 examination cost that I owed because of how awful my initial complimentary Ft Worth vet exam had gone. I was charged a mere $25 for a six-month supply of quality heartworm preventative while the Ft Worth vet was going to charge me $43 for the same exact thing. The rest of the staff is also very friendly, as well. Overall, this was a wonderful experience! We have found a veterinarian for life! Could not be happier. read more

Dr. Brier and his staff were very polite and friendly. I took my parakeet here because he had scaly mites on his feet. Dr. Brier was extremely informative and seemed like he genuinely cared. He even let me go to the back room to look under the microscope to view the mites for myself. He also brought out a book to show me more about the disease. I was extremely impressed by the amount of knowledge he shared with me, and also the care he showed my bird. They didn't even charge me for the medication or for the nail clipping. This is the first and only vet I have been to where I felt like he chose this profession for the love of animals, and not for money. Shout out to Dr. McGrath and Dr. Tran and the entire care staff at Creature Comfort. During the holidays our 4 year old Husky (Bandit) ingested items that caused a blockage in his digestive tract. They worked with him closely to try to get blockage resolved. When that did not result in a resolution, Bandit underwent exploratory surgery on 1/2/2020 to assess the situation and remove the blockage. It was touch and go for a couple of weeks, but he is thriving and back to his normal active self. Great job all involved in his care. read more

I brought my 14 year old dog here yesterday for the first time. Dr. Erin McGrath was our vet, and she is WONDERFUL. She examined him thoroughly, explaining everything in clear and straightforward language. She is obviously extremely knowledgeable and intelligent, and on top of that, really nice. The entire staff is also really nice and very professional. I was given an impromptu tour of the kennel. The dogs were all peacefully sleeping in a well-ventilated kennel. The kennel temperature was comfortable despite the heat outside. There were even a bunch of really nice plants immediately when you walk in. I will be taking my dogs to Dr. Erin McGrath from now on, and when I need a kennel, this will be the kennel where I will take my dogs. I am very happy to have found them! read more

Wow have things changed at this facility since the sale of it from vets Barry and Chris. They are out to get your money at the expense of your pet's health. They require a multitude of unnecessary shots that no other boarding facility requires even for play time. They will knickel and dime you to death when you walk through the door. They had a master groomer that I used for years here but she has since parted ways with the new company and they still advertise a master groomer. This is total deception to the public. If you love your fur babies as a valued family member as I do and seek the best for them, I would definitely reconsider using Creature Comfort.
