Do I think he's good at explaining tax realities? Definitely. However, Mr. Owens seems to be laboring under a preconceived notion the IRS is a good faith institution. They are not. Founded during the Civil War the IRS exists only to hurt us. So I will eventually apply for a 72 month payment plan to handle the 15K penalty I was told I will be punished with for needing cash now. I will definitely not go out of my way to make a good faith payment to the IRS. That will not happen. Only a payment plan I can afford. "Render onto Caesar what is Caesars" sure. But with Mr. Owens you will be paying so much more than you anticipated.

I have used Peterson CPA Firm for the last 2 years and I have not been pleased with the results…read more Peterson CPA Firm handles my taxes as I am considered a small business under the IRS guidelines. This year there were various issues that needed to be addressed regarding the final taxes sent into the IRS. I made an appt to meet with Mr. Peterson to discuss the various issues. We discussed the first issue that went back to the 2016 taxes and his answer was that he would write a letter and charge me $125. I will say that I was very infuriated by that response and it was insulting. (I can write a professional letter myself without the $125 charge.) Until the above 2016 tax issue was resolved the remaining 2017 tax issues could not be addressed. The second issue was when I called the IRS they had no record of my taxes being sent in electronically. I called Mr. Peterson and made him aware that the IRS has no record of the electronically filed taxes and that I needed a copy with the confirmation number. He briefly spoke to me then "slammed" the phone down hanging up on me. PROFESSIONALISM AT ITS VERY WORST!!! The third issue is they had no record of my refund because they had no record of the electronically filed taxes. Although, interestingly enough I was being charged for not having insurance due to Obamacare. I wrote letters and placed numerous calls to the IRS to straighten out this mess. I had the pleasure of dealing with some very professional people at the IRS. In fact, the IRS wanted to know who my CPA was as there was no excuse for this situation. I gave the IRS all of Peterson CPA Firms information both in writing and verbally. I handled every one of these issues with the IRS and got it all resolved with in a couple of months. This is a prime example where Peterson CPA Firm should have followed thru on all issues as Mr. Peterson was the CPA of record for preparing my taxes. An additional item I would like to mention is that I donate every year to the Salvation Army, the V.A. of Houston as well as the women's and men's homeless shelters. I try to do my part as I am very fortunate and would like to give others a helping hand. No matter what my donatons were for the year to these organizations Mr. Peterson would always slash the cost extensively. Mr. Peterson says it is based on the IRS guidelines for Goodwill. Goodwill would not even except the items of donation. Especially, after Tropical Storm Harvey. i.e. (used) dining room table w/8 chairs, refrigerator, freezer, 2 chandeliers, & numerous boxes of clothing. (new) $1,500 worth of brand new items to help those who lost so much during Harvey. Unfortunately, I do not donate garbage. I donate quality used items as well as brand new items. I would never ever recommend Peterson CPA Firm to anyone. Peterson CPA Firm deserves ZERO STARS. MR. PETERSON IF YOU HAVE NOT FIGURED THIS OUT YET; "YOU ARE FIRED"!!!

After taking my taxes to this place, back in July of 2018, I was quoted 900. They wanted 1/2 up…read morefront. I paid 200, then 250 to meet half pending their finalizing my tax work and getting my refund. Upon getting it finished it was turned into the IRS. Mistakes were made and the IRS sent it back a total of 4 times. After multiple times of attempting to get my work completed, the price went from 900 to 1350 total....even after their admitted mistake the last filing go round, which was also kicked back. I obviously was not pleased and told them so, on top of asking if they were going to discount my overall bill since their mistakes have cost me interest and penalties. Then I was told that they had done 1500 worth of work and that they were being generous. The office manager and co- CEO stated and I quote "that they couldn't be blamed for the IRS changing their dates and statutes." Isnt that their job and what I was paying them for?! Then when I stated that this is unacceptable and that I shouldn't be expected to continue to be delayed or my tax papers be held up pending me giving them more money, I was told in a not so nice way to come get my stuff and take it elsewhere! I said fine give me a refund of my money I'd paid and I would. She then stated that they didnt owe me anything and that I was harassing them! I had moved out of state so I said I'd have my family come get my paperwork and personal documents from them. When my family member came to get it, she was told ( with me listening on speaker phone that she couldn't get it without a Power of Attorney...even though I had sent multiple emails with no reply back concerning having my papers ready for pickup and asking how to resolve this. My aunt left and I proceeded to get a POA notorized and mailed it to her so she would have a fully legal document to get my papers for me with my full legal authorization. Today she went twice to get those papers. Upon arrival she was told to come back later and that Cindy was dealing with my case. My aunt shows back up and with me on speaker I hear the rudest disrespectful bunch of crap from this woman you could ever imagine. Those at Kingsbury Business Services pulled this on us this time... My aunt went in there with a notorized legal Power of Attorney to pick up my paperwork. They first said the POA wasn't legal cuz her signature wasn't notorized...which is a lie because she was listed by name address and drivers license number on the POA, and she had her DL and was there in person and could prove it was her. Next they argue with her and say that if she needs the papers she can get a transcript from the IRS...I already have this by the way. Next they refuse to give her my original paperwork. I was on the phone listening to them yell and be disrespectful to my aunt who told them that all she was there for, was to do... as they had told her and me...to come in and pick up my paperwork and take it somewhere else. She said that is what she was there to do , she didnt want to discuss anything more over the matter, was not there to ask for money back, and that she only wanted to pick up my w2s, my mortgage information, and any documents concerning communication with the IRS. They then told her she needed to leave and they were calling the cops. She told them ok to call them and she would wait since they had my legal property and were not returning it to my legally designated agent by the POA. The cops show up, look at the document, tell her that it is now a civil matter and that she had to leave. They made a report, and she left without anything of mine. So now you see what I was dealing with! Unbelievable!! Please pass this on to everyone you know!! Tell everyone you know to use Kingsbury Business Services in Dickinson at their own risk. They screwed me out of 450..or more as I'm still checking my old account to see if I am out more that I paid and didn't get a receipt out of them for, and refuse to give me my legal documents, along with screwing my taxes up so bad that I had to start over with someone else!
