Stay away from this store…read more Six to eight times now I've had to throw out or return bread that I just bought from there, either the same night or next day. The first time, I was insulted and told that I could have purchased it anywhere. The older man I spoke with grew instantly angry and treated me as though I was some kind of criminal. Eventually I told him I didn't even want a refund, just to calm him down, and to keep a better eye on their products. Another time when taking a frozen sandwhich out of the freezer, the top popped open when I picked it up and it went flying out and onto the floor. I was told that I would have to pay for it. When I told them that I wouldn't pay for a product that could have been partially opened already, defective, or tampered with by a customer, and the supposed, "you break it you buy it" law had no actual teeth, (i.e. was not inforceable) they insisted that I would indeed pay for it. When I asked if they were going to add it to the things I w.as purchasing and they answered yes, I left without buying anything. Out of somewhere between 6 and 8 loafs of moldy bread, I was refunded for none. One day when I was in there, after telling myself that I would never buy it from this shop again, a younger guy began pushing bread on me the moment I walked in. Buy one get one or half off or something like that. It was beyond the sell by date. And there were several moldy loafs. The shady way he was acting also leads me to believe that he was well aware of this and trying to sell as many as he could. After all, they don't give refunds. A couple of days ago, I purchased two chocolate muffins there, along with some other things, which I figured were safer than bread. Upon getting them home, I tried to eat one. The bottom of the first one was very moldy. The second one had a little mold on it. I took it back when I could. I'm not always able to go back the same night or day as I'm disabled. But it was only two days. The two men there said that they would have to call a boss. The man who came was the younger guy who was pushing moldy bread on me that day, about a year ago. And of course, he made every possible excuse. They all looked good, he told me. He suggested that I check the expiration dates before buying them. I said that was on him. An expired product shouldn't be on the shelf. And if it was, that was his fault, not mine. But, these were his excuses for not refunding or even replacing the products. Apparently it is our fault as the consumers, if we're dumb enough to shop at this store, that is. If we buy something there, we'd better tear it open right there at the cash register and check it for mold, bugs, whatever. And even then, if we had already paid, they would probably tell us too bad. The little gas station just down the street is often one of the cheapest in town and has some good stuff. Plus they've never been rude to me in there and I've never once bought anything moldy in that one. This place, however, I'm lucky I haven't had to visit the emergency room yet. Stay away from this one. I wouldn't even buy gas there.

I was heading back from an appointment in Syracuse, and my mind was distracted and running though the possibilities of what the doctor had told me. I stopped at Love's to get some gas on the way home. I finished pumping the gas, and my wife used her card to pay for it. I hopped back into the truck to continue the trip back home racing to beat the bad weather and wrestling with the storm of thoughts circling around in my own mind. Fast forward to later that evening. I realized I did not have my wallet. I searched my coat pockets and ransacked my truck to see if maybe I had dropped it on the floorboard or something. After hours of looking, I figured I must have dropped it at the VA garage. I called to see if it had been turned in...after multiple transfers to other people I was transferred to lost and found. I was hopeful that maybe someone would turn it in. I did not care about the money, but the cards and identification and all the things that would need to be replaced was weighing heavy on my mind. I was praying and praying...please let someone find it and turn it in. The next morning I checked back again, still no one had turned it in, so I started the process of calling and cancelling cards and doing what you do when you lose your purse or wallet to minimize any damage. At some point during the day, one of the ladies from Love's called and left a message on my wife's phone. She is about as tech savvy as I am...which is to say not at all. She did not have the volume turned up on her phone or her notification did not go off so she had not notice the missed call because it did not make a noise. All that night and into the next day I was stressing and praying that someone would find it and turn it in. I had about given up hope when suddenly my wife starts yelling to me....they got it they found it....it was at the gas station. I called immediately and spoke with one of the ladies and she told me yes they have it, I asked for who had turned it in and was told it had been found by one of the other employees that had gone outside to help another customer and had found my wallet on the ground and brought it inside. They had called my wife's phone as soon as they found it, but I explained to them that she did not get the call or see the message until the next day. I told her on the phone I would be right down to pick it up. When I got there I asked who had found it with the intention of giving the person some money as a reward, she would not even take it. I was so relieved and so thankful and actually teared up a bit as a sliver of my faith in the good of people had been restored by two Angels at Love's gas station. I thanked them and thanked God and I just wanted to share this story with others who may be feeling like humanity is a lost cause. There are still good people in the world and God does still answer prayers.
