I called in the morning to get a quote on a job I was working on. Spoke with Madhu. Emailed the requested info. Waited and waited to receive my quote. Called back in the afternoon to confirm they received what I sent. Was told they would have my quote by the end of the day or first thing in the morning. Waited till noon the following day because I had still not heard from them. Called them again. Got the old " we are so busy, etc etc". Reminded her that she told me I'd receive my quote yesterday or first thing in the morning and here it is noon and I'm having to call AGAIN. She actually got a bit rude with me and hung up on me. Keep in mind, this wasn't a super complex item. I'm probably better off not working with this company as they want your Money first before entering production of the job (which I have no problem with) but just imagine the response or lack thereof after they have your money.. it could be weeks or months before you receive your work. I refuse to do business with a company that can't even get a quote when they say they will!! They may be busy, but they are a little less busy now as I won't be working with them. The staff is super friendly and always great communicating any questions with the project to make sure it comes out flawless. I needed a huge piece of vinyl cut for an event in Ventura. I reached out on a Friday afternoon and asked if they could get it done by the following Thursday. They said not a problem! I sent them the file Monday and the vinyl was ready to be picked up well before Thursday. Also, Madhu was pleasant, efficient, and even caught an error in our file...that was totally beyond her job to do so and it definitely saved us the hassle of fixing it later. On February 4, 2010 I contacted FASTSIGNS in Ventura, California for an estimate on some 3"x 6" vinyl decals. Nothing too fancy, one color, and I provided the artwork in a "pdf" format. Their price was higher than all of the other quotes and their promised time line was also longer than others also, but I wanted to keep my business local and decided to go with their product instead of using someone out of state. Big Mistake!! During our conversation I told the salesman the date that I would need them. After I sent them my artwork I received the quote and faxed a signed copy back as requested and provided a credit card number because the order had to be pre-paid. I have the email to prove it. Ten days after promised delivery I called the office and was told they were not ready yet. The "customer service" representative then added that the 7-10 days were actually "working days" and that I had a few more days to wait. I called again days later and spoke to the same salesman, who now suddenly could not remember the 7-10 days promise, now if was 10-14 "working days". To make a long story short the original date I needed them had has now come and gone. Yesterday, March 3, 2010 I received a call that my decals were ready. I told the salesman that I no longer needed them but, since I signed the quote I could not cancel the order even thought they were late. I spoke to the owner/manager, Mr. Saurabh Bajaj to discuss the lateness of my order. Mr. Saurabh Bajaj was argumentative and rude, but finally did offer me $50.00 of on a future order; he's kidding right? The bottom line for Mr. Saurabh Bajaj, if I did not have the dates in writing there was nothing he could do. He then stated that this issue "comes up all the time" and when I suggested it might benefit him and his company to put the due date on the contract he thought it was a good idea. Today I went to the store, driving almost 60 miles to pick up my decals. I was certainly surprised to discover that the amount my credit card was charged was $50.00 more than the estimate! It seems they added a "file conversion" for $50.00 without my knowledge, approval, or bothering to place it on the estimate I signed. I urge anyone considering doing business with the company to run, not walk, away as fast as you can. The quality of their work is marginal at best, their time lines are a joke, and their behavior once they have your credit card number, in my opinion, is borderline criminal. Do not disturb the owner of this place with any business. He is way too busy to take a minute and help you with your order. Infact, he dosen't even need your business. He never asked me how I would like my signs to look, or my business cards. I walked out of the shop feeling uneasy, so I decided to go back in an only order the signs. He said, forget it. From reading the negative review below it almost makes me wonder if this place changed owners, as the owner is a woman. I have nothing but great things to say about this company. I needed a sign for my new business, and after making the mistake of contacting another company in Camarillo, I'm sure glad I decided to go with Fast Signs, as I was all but dismissed with the company in Camarillo. From the time I requested what I wanted, received their quote, viewed the proof, and had it installed, it was just a matter of a few days. The receptionist kept in contact via phone to let you know when they would be coming out with the sign, and the owner herself made certain to contact you via e-mail. Great Product and even Better Service! I used FastSigns in Ventura to create/make a new name for my boat. My buddy was doing the same for his new boat, however, he used a competing vendor located about 1/4 mile away. We helped each other apply the new names; each name was in 10 &/or 12 inch letters, both were about 81/2 feet long. Before I left the store, FastSigns staff gave me a squeegee tool, two pages of instructions, and even taped the sign to its wall to demonstrate a couple of different methods (tricks) for applying such a long banner (particularly useful as the boat was in the water). The name done for me by FastSigns was on paper with straight edges equidistant from the top and bottom of each letter. My buddy's vendor gave him his banner, nothing more, and its edges were not aligned with the printing. We did my boat first. Those straight edges made it real simple to position the new name. The stock was great - very easy to apply and "work". There was no problem peeling the protective paper from the letters; and each letter was cut precisely. We then did my buddy's boat, and the air turned "blue" with language for which sailors are well known. It was far more difficult to position the name; the stock was harder to "work"; the paper stuck to both sides of the lettering and there was a problem with wrinkles we had not experienced when applying the name on my boat. When we finished his boat, my buddy turned to me and said, "Next time I'm using your guy." FastSigns already had me as a repeat customer; they earned themselves a new one. read more
