In the beginning of hiring Jen to do my payroll/accounting/monthly bookkeeping, etc she was great. Always on time, always very helpful. In fact, her company was so great that I referred SEVERAL friends and family members to her. All to eventually be let down and basically left stranded... Come tax time this past year, everything became a disaster. Even a month leading up, I would text, call, email with no response. Next thing I know she is very very ill. I reach out to let her know I am here for her and to keep me posted. That's when I was ghosted. Never heard from her again, panicking that my taxes weren't going to be done on time, that my business was going to fall behind in book keeping, etc. Same with all my friends and family members! Most of which ended up having to have filed extensions for their taxes or pick up their taxes and bring to someone else. I made multiple appts at her office in the coming weeks to be able to stop by to give her some of my bookeeping info & sign off on taxes...I would show up and "all her employees left early that day" and couldn't wait for my SCHEDULED appt. When they have it posted everywhere that they are in office for appts only!! Finally enough was enough and I had to do what was right for my business and I asked for my stuff to be returned to me and I was on the hunt for a new accountant. Found a great cpa, who reached out to Jen SEVERAL times to get caught up on important info regarding payroll, quickbooks info etc & Jen would just ignore her. Finally we got ahold of her and all Jen would say is "good luck with her and her family, they never send anything in in time." and then THREATENED my new accountant by saying she would press charges if she ran a payroll under her subscription. Meanwhile, I hadn't gotten paid in well over a month bc of Jen's inability to stay caught up with her clients. -it's important to note here that my family and I were trash talked for no particular reason other than Jen was mad we left her business, I have a ridiculous amount of texts from her that I was her best client because I was ALWAYS on time and ahead of the game- doing whatever I could to make her job easier. The best part is a couple weeks later my new accountant finds out she was never filing a very important form to the state regarding un-employment taxes. So now I am left with over $900 in penalty fees and interest because of her lack of work. I have reached out to Jen several times to discuss with her and instead she just wants to argue with me and not take responsibility for her actions. Next thing I know I'm blocked and can't reach her. Now I have to settle things in court. Today, my MIL gets a notice in the mail that she owes money to the IRS for filing her taxes late... but Jen told her she filed her an extension months ago!! Yeah right! There have been multiple occasions where I felt like my information did not stay confidential in her office. For example, when she was sick, she had her daughter text me what my business owed to the IRS... which is all to be CONFIDENTIAL info and only shared with the CPA's of the firm. She hires employees that have no idea what they are doing and everything just gets screwed up! Save your time and do NOT use Shaw account management.

Extremely friendly and they always keep up with changes which seem daily as administrations change they are on top of making sure they have the latest information needed to ease your mind, especially when it comes to tax services, when we are in the era of it's now a real pain to try to due taxes on your own ,there are just to many changes and if your unaware of the changes you could be loosing some serious deductions so these ladies are family owned, mother and daughter team and work so hard to make sure your services are done right and on time, put it this way after going to the big guys and spending 1000's for services and then walking out the door and wondering if you really got your money's worth. Upon contacting Mike he flat our refused to call myself or my wife back. He did however email my wife, still refusing to talk to me, and in his email he was BEYOND rude. He used all CAPS to YELL at her through email about his errors. I must emphasize errors as plural. He even went as far as to say it was our fault that he did the taxes at the end of his day when he was too tired to complete them correctly. Let me make it clear no one forced him to take our money and to do a poor job at the end of the long day. That was his choice. At this point he has entered so much information incorrectly that I cannot even login to the IRS website to try to retrieve my refund or fix the information he input. The real problem here isn't so much the multitude of errors and the lack of any refund including my stimulus check because he so badly input my information, but the rudeness and unprofessionalism which he displayed while we nicely tried to contact him for advice on how to rectify the situation. Leaving bad reviews is not my cup of tea, but I feel I must warn new clients before they too have to deal with the errors and most importantly the rudeness of Mike himself.
