Easily one of the best restaurants in Leesville. The food is amazing, whether it be a burger, fries, pizza, wings. It's well season, the portions are sufficient, and the food is filling. The meat is local, the hotdogs are real beef, the fries are cut from fresh. None of the food from Fat Boy & Skinnies is reheated from Sysco or another mass distributor. Mouth watering never frozen beef that is well seasoned and hand cut fries that don't suck Front desk and cook ( owners?) were super nice to us since it was our first time and it can be a little overwhelming. Checked on us after we had our meals as well. The whole place looks a little rough from the outside but the inside is a beautiful place to eat. Dark green tile, big windows and an open iron joist ceiling. Very classic and very cool. Originally we were told it was all too greasy for most people but we 100% disagree. Another "run down" looking place in Leesville - but it's Leesville. However...the inside is cute and I enjoyed the diner like atmosphere. With nothing on the menu exceeding $6.49 - skip out on McDonald's the next time you want a burger. The fat boy is HUGE - come prepared and hungry if you're getting it. The skinny was no skinny burger and I even had a hard time finishing that (but I'm not complaining!). Lastly, the fat boy fries were onnnn point. You really could get that as your meal. Came in during Covid so was suprised they seemed well staffed. 4 people cooking and one out front. Floors in ordering and dining area were greasy. Placing order was easy and our lady was really nice. We have a family of 5 so it can be much. When we got the food our fries were so greasy they were dripping as we pulled the individual bags apart. They were soggy and had no salt at all. The salt isn't too hard of a fix but an issue. The hot dog my son got was extremely wrinkled and looked like it had been microwaved for several minutes. The bun was great though. Burgers were great. Had 1 fat boy, 2 skinny boys and a chicken sandwich. Salad was less then par. The lettuce, which I was amazed to see was Romaine my favorite, was dirty! They were cut into big pieces so I tried tearing them down to bite sized and there was dirt all over the lettuce. Makes me wonder if the lettuce on the burgers is even washed Also, the ranch dressing was sour and smelled funky. Thankfully I caught a wiff before my daughter dumped it on. The shakes we ordered were good. Nice to see real ice cream shakes. I felt bad for the lady who had to make all 5 large shakes. Lots of scooping and it looked like they only had one blender base. A converted old fashioned gas station, it has lent itself well to its current incarnation as a retro burger joint. Their ordering system is similar to Five Guys- type of burger, free and premium options, sides. Ordered a Skinny burger (1/3 lb), fries with Cajun seasoning, and a drink. My order soon came. A fresh not pre-formed burger patty that looked, smelled, and tasted delicious! The Cajun seasoning over fresh cut was an interesting variation. Price came out under $10. Although eating here wasn't a religious experience, in this area of corporate mass-market homogenized Mcfood it's a treat to see a local establishment executing the basics well. I think this is the best burger joint in town! I got the chicken sandwich and it was perfectly made and tasty. It's not "fast food" and there's no drive thru, but the food is worth the wait. My only gripe was with the shake. It was just way too watery for my preference. I'm used to having nice, rich ice-cream blended into mine, but this stuff was like flavored milk and not a shake. 1.Service- Service was good. Nothing to complain nothing to over glorify. Fast, friendly, and courteous. Also bar staff is very attentive. 2. Facility- Clean, well kept bathrooms. The overall establishment is well kept. I didn't watch any tables get cleaned after customers left so I cannot comment to it. 3. Food/Drinks- First off, for appetizers the fried pickles, fried green tomatoes are amazing. I will most definitely order from them again. I received the ribs, and although they were good they were very dry. Kind of like chewing on jerky. Flavor though was good. I brought this up to management and they replaced my order with a free full rack of ribs and they were AMAZING. The sides I received were potato salad and green beans. Both were ok, not bad not amazing. I don't fancy liquor only beer. They do have a few beers on tap, basics obviously and it seemed they also had some local brews. 4 stars for good food good service.
