The Hibachi itself is pretty decent (I've ordered the Steak and Shrimp a few times) as well as the salmon sashimi. The ambiance is that like any other hibachi restaurant. Look I go hunting here almost every weekend during hunting season. There really isn't much food options except for wagon master,chillis or any fast food place but I saw this place on google and this is what I have to say. The food is awesome the service outstandingly great. the cleaner was super friendly and caring always coming around with a smile,cleaning great just doing his job. Also he asked me if he was bothering me because he was cleaning another table and I told him it don't bother me at all because I would rather see and hear the workers do their job instead of them messing around on their phones, or just not assisting other customers. But this place is the opposite of that people are doing there job sweeping floors coming every 3 mins for sauces or waters like this actually made me proud of that there still is hope in the work force. First off our waitress in the sushi bar area had body odor. The calamari was a very small portion and way overcooked. Basically 7 fried rubber rings. The teriyaki sauce on the chicken was over salted and burnt tasting. The steak fillet and scallops combo plate was horrible. I asked for medium rare steak but got 2 pieces of a salty well done steak and 3 pieces of medium steak. My steak pieces tasted very different which now I believe came from someones returned plate that sat 2 tables down from us. Spring rolls were underlined and lacking the flavor pallet.. the sauce was a watered down soy sauce with a splash of fish sauce in it. I've only been here once back when we were station at fort Polk LA and its was pretty disappointing, not only is the food not good and stale but the pricing are wild. Considering leesville's lack of restaurants and activities to do I can see why they would always be packed and have a high ratings but coming from someone who lived in Miami and moved to Louisiana, this is not it. The ambience is very cheap but its expected since its location in an almost deserted town but the server were nice and the wait time is very short if you go during lunch. It's recommended to go during lunch to save you a couple of bucks but it is still very pricy. I wouldn't recommend going here. read more

I am in love with their sushi. It is a legitimate romance. While visiting my sister in Louisiana, she introduced us to her favorite sushi place. Being in a small Louisiana town, I have to be honest, my expectations were not the highest. However, she kept talking about this jalapeño popper roll all day that my mouth started to water. The restaurant is split into two sections: hibachi and sushi. We sat in on the sushi side and started off with a spring roll appetizer which was really good. Between the three of us, my hubby and my sister, we shared six different types of sushi: spicy tuna, spicy crab, jalapeño roll, Annie, and the rock and roll. Just as my sister said, the jalapeño roll was delicious. Tempura fried with jalapeño, cream cheese and crab, this was one of the most eclectic sushi rolls I have ever had. The spicy crab was great as well. But, if I were to go back I would order the jalapeño roll and the Annie. This was a great surprise for a small town. We would come back, hands down! read more

My husband and I always eat here. We came in 3/20/23 around 7:30 and there was hardly anyone there (we always eat on sushi side). First off my husband always gets the same thing, hibachi steak & chicken with a side of shrimp. Our waitress tells us "oh we can't do that anymore" I don't understand bc he always gets it and if I'm a paying customer and I'm paying for the side of the shrimp and it's in the menu then why can't we get them?? The soldier roll I ordered was terrible in taste as well as cut into ridiculously large portions. The fish inside it was indiscernible and void of flavor, it mostly tasted like warm tempura cream cheese. The chicken cutlet plate was also void of any apparent seasonings, was dry and bland. When we first walked in there was no one greeting us at the front desk. The man counting the money in the corner took a few minutes then came and said two for sushi? We said yes and he walked off and a young man in a long sleeved t-shirt came up and said you will need menus. He handed us menus and we walked to the sushi side. Tonight wasn't as busy as usual but they had quite a few hibachi customers as we walked through. We sat where we wanted because the sushi people said to. We sat for a few minutes and a young woman came up to us and got our drink order then came back a couple of times. She was attentive at first. After placing our order we waited for about twenty minutes before our food was brought out. They brought our sushi rolls out which was yummy! Then we waited another fifteen minutes and they brought our my husbands house fried rice which was awesome. They brought my pork tonkatsu. The Katsu sauce is super cold in a Tiny plastic container. Which if it had tasted yummy surely would not be enough for the two pork cutlets on my plate. Other katsu sauce I have had elsewhere was served warm and it was like a pork mushroom gravy. This was missing it and served with plain rice the sauce was just awful, runny cold and weak. The waitress offer some other sauces and I settled on a sweet and spicy sauce called "calamari sauce" the batter was good and crispy on the pork cutlet but the cutlet itself was so tough and the batter came off of every piece... it was falling apart and hard to eat. Super crunchy and dry. The sweet chili was better than the tonkatsu but still not spectacular. Anyways I remembered at the end of my meal that the tonkatsu dinner was supposed to come with a house salad and a soup. I asked the waitress about that and she said they no longer serve salad due to Covid. She should've said something but she apologized and said they had no substitutions. She did give me a large clear broth soup to go. It would have been nice to maybe have a small portion of cooked broccoli instead. However, The California roll came out a bit lukewarm rather than cold, which is too bad because it was otherwise tasty. I ordered a roll tonight that had two kinds of tuna in it. The tuna in the roll tasted off and I informed the server. She took it away and still charged me for the roll I couldn't eat. If a guest tells you the tuna tastes off, you don't get your chef to argue with them. You remove it from the bill and let it be. Not charge the guest and have the chef inform them they are wrong. I was decently surprised by the quality of the sushi in this restaurant. The wrap was done well as compared to sloppy, and the the fish was very refreshing. The miso soup was ok, it seemed watery. My boyfriend had the teriyaki chicken and it was excellent, but low on the veggies. I had the jalapeño roll (deep fried jalapeño with crab and cream cheese). It was very creamy. The first one was good, but after that I couldn't handle the texture. You would think the deep fried roll would offset the cream cheese by adding crunch, But it still felt like I was eating I ball of cream cheese. I couldn't finish them. The proportions might need to be worked on by the chef there... I also had the spider roll, a favorite of mine, and the California roll, also very good. Over a very pleasant experience. There's two sides to this restaurant: Hibachi Grill and Sushi Bar. I've only been to the Sushi Bar side several times since living here and I've enjoyed it. My favorite menu item by far is their sushi pizza! Delicious! I've tried their fried garlic shrimp and fried calamari but those were ok and they only give you a few pieces of each. Their crawfish roll is tasty. As well as their cucumber roll. I've also tried their house fried rice which consisted of beef, chicken and shrimp. You only get two small pieces of shrimp in the rice though. Only thing, I was disappointed in their Shirley temple drinks: they tasted watered down and wasn't the bright red like I was use to seeing for a Shirley temple drink.
