Im no seasoned hill walker, but my parents are life longer users of Rohan gear, now into their 60's they still swear by Rohan clothes and accessories and thats as good an endorsement as it gets for me. Whether they are going for a leisurely walk around Windemere or trekking the Austrian Alps (thats later this year), I know the bulk of their packing will feature Rohan brands. A decent sized shop, within a 5 minute walk from the main car park in Ambleside with very friendly and knowledgable staff. If you need help on whether you need a neckgaitor or scarf, or which base layer would be most appropriate for hiking up Scarfell Pike, then definitely stop off here first!

The shop does its own hand engraving if you need something special engraved They sell earrings with are plain and fancy they have a lovely selection of rings they will resize anything for you and offer good advice if you are looking for a gift they do some really nice stuff here as long as you have the money to buy it I have never seen any offers on in this shop but I am sure they must have a sale sometime I hold out hope

I was doing the Mountain Bike Off Road Coast to Coast ride with 3 friends when my bike developed a few faults. We were staying locally so I went in for help one morning last week and received the most fantastic service from one of the proprietors. It was a pleasure to deal with someone who was both understanding & knowledgeable. Bike fixed, we went on our way and completed the journey on Tuesday 25th despite the best efforts of the gales etc!! I also absolutely love when someone is in the window making chocolates or dipping things in chocolate... I could watch chocolate all day! The shop is nice and large and while the shop does sell lots of candies, there are some biscuits, jams, curds, etc. available. I always stop here for Jelly Bellies, however, I noticed that they did not have my favourite flavour in stock (Peach), so I was a bit sad about that. To help me cope, I decided on some Violet Cremes... and a Banoffee Cheesecake chocolate. The Violet Cremes are always spot on here, creamy centre with a flavour that is just right and a dark chocolate shell that is just the right thickness that you get a bit of a snap when you break through the shell to the creamy centre! Now then, the Banoffee Cheesecake chocolate... lovely! The top was maybe a white chocolate based shell with a milk chocolate cup. When you bite through all of that, there is a layer of banana flavoured creme inside and it was wonderful with all of the other flavours. And... they always have samples by the till!

The staff are great. They will put an item by for you, and you can pay gradually. The shop is comfortable to be in with a sofa near the door where I sat, waiting for my friend, and then waiting to pay.
