Just returning from our stay at the Fat Sheep Farm and I can't say enough about the about how great our stay was. We rented all five cabins and barn for a wedding and with recommendations from Todd and Suzy the event was a total success. The cabins are well equipped with everything you need for your stay and the views a truly breathtaking, sitting on the patio looking across the valley. The hiking trails around the farm are nice and there was plenty to do around the local area during our four-night stay. The adults had a great time around the fire pit at night that Todd setup and the children had a great time during the day exploring, hiking and using the great play area. If you're looking for a relaxing getaway, I would highly recommend The Fat Sheep Farm. read more

We had a truly lovely time staying at Fat Sheep Farm this summer. Our daughter is 100% in love with all the animals on the farm and our stay was excellent in so many ways. The cabin was well appointed, had some fancy soap and for the first time, we could use the provided shampoo (which was sulfate and paraben free) because our kiddos have curly hair. The kitchen was well equipped- coffee pretty good, appliances and pots and pans are in great condition. We also have a 2 plus year old and they were super nice in lending us a pack and play along with a mattress in it. I'm not sure about the odd experiences the other reviewer had because nothing of the same sort ever happened to us in the least. Todd and Suzy were super nice and helpful. Our kid loved doing farm chores every morning with Suzy. Both kids think she is the "best farmer" ever. She has an incredible amount of patience as she listened to their many farm related stories while we "helped" with farm chores. I say "helped" because the work was extremely light so don't worry about it. In terms of flexibility, they have been great. We had to move our booking because of the covid situation last year and they were incredibly helpful. read more

Incredibly rude hosts. Property is not well kept. Dangerous ice. Definitely do not recommend staying at Fat Sheep Farm

"You are just a complainer", no one else has ever complained and we have 5 stars., "I was celebrating with my family as it was Father's Day" "You booked through Airbnb & got charged an extra 30%", "the cleaning person forgot to change the sponges and the mildewed molded shower curtains are 25$". These are the comments that were said to me AFTER telling these people that I have PTSD & don't need interaction and I just wanted to leave. The owner came to the cabin.. there is no ability to have privacy as the front of cabin and kitchen window allow for NO privacy and if you leave the bathroom door open people can see right into it as my 9 year old did and people happened to be walking by at that moment- anyway I got a knock on a window. If you have PTSD & confrontation is your issue then you will COMPLETELY understand what I went through. The man came down & handed me a sponge like I was an idiot for complaining & he spent a good amount of time telling me just how idiotic I am... by insulting me. I told him that I can no longer take his words & I needed to go inside.. I said this multiple times but he had to continue telling me that I'm stupid for expecting service on a holiday all about him & his kids. Is he my family (thank god no) I thought this was a business. My parents run 4 and don't stop for holidays as I'm pretty sure it'D be a problem for cash inflow. In any event, he basically told us to STAY AWAY if you think a holiday might be important to these people. But I'm their only complainer so I'm sure everyone else will love it! I know there are up charges on Airbnb. I never thought much about it but this man told me or exasperated about how stupid I was to use Airbnb because it's a 30% up charge. 1st Mr. , you are slamming a service that brings a lot of business your way. 2nd this had NOTHING to do with money for me.. it's about being scammed & spied on and no service due to Father's Day and covid.. doesn't matter your financial Situation as NOONE likes to be lied & scammed after driving hours out of their way in an effort to see their baby girl have fun.. He came down to my cabin to put me into my place. MY PTSD will NOT allow me to let this go as I'm shaking right now as I write this as I can't believe I paid over 300$ for NO experience because," it's Father's Day". Okay, so if you knock off the experience because you have obligations then perhaps you hire someone as your guests are still paying the same rate. It's wonderful that you have a family that loves you but my husband recognized and encouraged me to do these trips as he wants me to get better and our daughter to have less anxiety. Here's my actual experience.... On the way, my daughter & I saw all kinds of animals driving through multiple states ... the whole time We were at this place We saw a few sheep in the distance. When I arrived at this farm, I saw someone working and looking over. I tried to catch their eye to get info but it was clear they didn't want to be approached (this was the owner as he stated he watched me unpack my car when he was harassing me for my complaints the next morning). Now that I know that was the owner & he was spying on me when he could have been welcoming us and making my kid feel a little bit special.... And us feel comfortable to roam freely yep I want to complain now.. so schizzy and pervert like....That did not happen so when we got back from getting some food we walked the property and saw NOONE. This was certainly not the "magical" experience they throw all over Airbnb to encourage the idiots, like me, that are using Airbnb Exploring felt awkward as everything was closed up & I felt like I was intruding so on this "magical" farm we enjoyed the swing.. and little else. As he was telling me it was Father's Day and he was with his family, that I could have just called. Due to my lack of desire of conflict I didn't call I honestly fell asleep with my kiddo while we were waiting for ANY experience or to see any animal. I would like to mention one more thing.. money. This man kept implying I was only complaining due to money. I have been traveling since may 6 and will continue doing so until July 12 and then august 15 I go to alaska to pick up a therapy dog (fat sheep poop farm made me realize that I NEED one as these people.. well anyway-- why listen to me as I'm the only person that has ever complained... I mean really???please read my reviews and see that this is NOT about money. It's about disrespect and BAD service, followed up with mental trauma, AFTER emailing them that I have PTSD they send down a combative person... that SPIED ON us instead of welcomingh us.. I have so much more to say and will do SO but I will NOT let this affect my kiddos experience here (Shiloh farms in Maine-- AMAZINand she is loving IT.... from the ONLY complainer ever, I strongly urge you to not waste your hard earned money here at fat shet farm... Wow where do I even start... This place was awful!!! The staff was more than rude, the place was a filthy mess, and just about every bit of our stay was a disappointment due to the farm's false advertising. This whole "farm and cabins" idea is obviously very popular especially around this area so definitely don't come to this wreck and i'd highly recommend looking into all of your options because just about every other one is better than this dump! read more

Our stay at Fat Sheep Farm & Cabins made us want to move to Vermont permanently. (Not an exaggeration. Serious.) We live in NYC and we got back a few days ago, but we are still daydreaming about our stay all day long. Todd and Suzy have done an amazing job with the cabins and the property. The cabin we stayed at (Sunrise Cabin) was very modern and extremely clean. It had everything we needed, from high quality towels to every cooking utensil you'd ever need. We could see that every little detail had been carefully considered. We traveled with our young toddler, and Todd and Suzy set up a pack-and-play for him prior to our arrival. The farm and cabins are definitely awesome for kids. The fresh eggs we were given were exquisitely delicious, each with a giant bright yellow yolk. When we met the hens, we understood why. The hens were very happy and well-nourished. Overall, the farm was as clean and neat as a farm could be. The location is beautiful and the vista is quintessential Vermont. There's a 4.5-mile loop, complete with streams, near the property, where you could take a nice long walk or a jog. What a wonderful vacation this was. We'll be back for sure, as a guest and hopefully one day, a neighbor. PS: I saw the one negative review about the cancellation policy. When we made the reservation, we were immediately aware of the cancellation policy. It's super clear. So, please don't let the one negative review sway you. We spent one wonderful night at Fat Sheep Farm last week and for sure want to visit again! What a beautiful spot - secluded and peaceful, yet close enough to restaurants and stores to enjoy your stay. The cabin was clean, well appointed and the sheets were so soft and comfortable. We stayed in the Sunset cabin, which is on the end and therefore a bit more secluded than the others, though all looked beautiful! The property is gorgeous and Suzy and Morgan (we didn't get to meet Todd) were welcoming and friendly. We participated in the morning farm chores, which were so fun - even in the pouring rain. We learned a lot and loved getting to interact with the animals and learn all their individual quirks. We sampled sheep's milk cheese made on premises, purchased from the small farm stand they have on property. All in all a great experience - would recommend it for families, couples and a solo retreat! read more

Stayed here for one night with my family and we had a blast. Cabin we stayed at was in great condition and had everything we needed. Our kids loved the playground they built and as well as being able to see the animals up close. My kids had a blast doing the morning chores with the owners and really enjoyed the physical activities. Owners were also nice enough to start a fire for us at night time and it was awesome to just sit back, enjoy the fire, and gaze at the stars. I highly recommend you give this place a visit if you are looking to just get away and enjoy the nature! read more

What an amazing time we had at Fat Sheep Farm! If you are looking for a traditional hotel experience this is not it. The people who left these negative reviews don't understand it's a FARM, and they can't handle not being coddled by insincere customer service professionals. There is none of the fake "assistance" you get at a hotel, just genuine care and a love for the farm. You get lots of time with the animals. Rocky the dog gives great puppy kisses, and who can say they milked a sheep! We made the fanciest scrambled eggs with fresh farm eggs, tomatoes and of course sheep cheese! The Mountain View is spectacular and offers an opportunity to really relax. We are not sure how they have such great wifi in the spacious cabins. Thank you for such a great stay! read more

I just went back to Fat Sheep Farm and Cabins for the second summer in a row, and this time brought two girlfriends so we chose a larger cabin. Everything was just as amazing as I remembered it, and there were even some new restaurants to try out. The place was sparkling clean and we even had a chance to chat with Todd and visit the animals. I slept like an absolute rock in the super comfy bed, and we loved sitting outside on our last evening to take in the view while enjoying each other's company. I can't wait to go back and stay again next summer! read more

Wow!!!! What an amazing place to stay for a weekend in Vermont. Much better and roomier than a hotel, inn or B&B. There are several cabins to choose from and each one provides a great time away from the usual busy day to day stresses of life. When you check in there are fresh scones and farm fresh eggs waiting for you. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need for cooking and there are plenty of local places to pick up supplies. Overall I can't stop glowing at the fabulous stay that my wife and I had this weekend at Fat Sheep Farm an we are already planning a return trip. read more

This place was a truly unique experience. Not only do you get to stay in a cozy cabin surrounded by a beautiful farm and scenic hills, but you also find a basket of their fresh eggs and vegetables on the counter when you arrive. I also love how the farm adheres to its organic values through all aspects from vegetable growing and livestock raising practices to stocking the cabins with necessities (organic soaps, etc.). It's close to Woodstock and Quechee, which are full of good restaurants and fun things to do. I'll be visiting again for sure! read more

Fat Sheep Farms was truly a highlight to my year. My partner and I traveled in October with 2 other friends, and we had an absolute blast. The grounds are simply beautiful as the majesty of the green mountains provides the backdrop for your time there. The land is full of life with trees, wildflowers, and animals and you immediately findyourself slowing down the pace while breathing in your natural surroundings. Suzy is an outstanding hostess and spent time telling us about the farm, her family's vision, and all the cool things they are doing with the space and their time. The mile long path along the grounds is a perfect way to start the day, greattimg the beautiful mist that hangs over the mountains, followed by the farm fresh eggs provided for you so graciously by Sunzy and her family. There are trails to adventure along in every direction, as well as restaurants, bars, and breweries. We spent our days hiking and meandering through the wilderness and our nights sipping VT craft beers and ciders on the fabulous porch of our cabin listening to might sounds and watching the stars. It is quiet, peaceful, beautiful, and food for the soul. It's a perfect place for families (especially young kids), couples, or small groups. Our one night stay was amazing! Upon arrival we entered our beautiful clean cabin where fresh baked scones and eggs were left out for us. The view of the mountains and pastures are so incredible from each of the cabins front doors. The cabin alone was great but perks like pots, pans, dishes, utensils, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, towels, games, and magazines were just some of the extras . The bed was very comfortable. Not only was the cabin alone amazing but the property, owners, and farms animals were too. We played cornhole, walked the property, met the animals, helped with the farm chores, saw the most amazing sunset, had a fire at night and got to meet all the other families too. Farmer Suzy made every moment during the farm chores informative, inclusive and fun. My daughter and I ended our one night stay with the sour dough bread making workshop with Farmer Suzy which was a one of a kind experience that we both enjoyed. I got to make so many special memories here with my daughter that we booked a two night stay for fall of 2022. We are grateful for farmer Suzy, farmer Todd and their helpers for all their hard work to provide such a wonderful opportunity for others to part of. We can't wait to come back. read more
