We were pleasantly surprised they are open and follow stringent covid safety guidelines for all their guests. We were greeted at the store and took a tour with Lisa, who exudes hospitality, compassion and warmth. She treated us city slickers to profoundly educational and poignant encounters with all the animals. These aren't typical farm animals! They are extremely social, well taken care of, and interactive. A hidden little gem! Ben gave us a nice tour of the farm - he was enthusiastic, knowledgeable and friendly. My kids and I learned a lot. How is it we have been coming to this area for over twenty years and we just discovered this place? Fresh beef, pork and veal...check. Fresh cheese, milk and eggs...check. Ice cream for the kids....check. Fresh vegetables and maple syrup...check. Yeah, it's an awesome farm. Lysa greeted us as we arrived and showed us around the farm. The cows were so friendly, the goats were friendly, the horses were friendly, the calves were friendly, the turkeys are mean because, well, they're turkeys. Bunnies, alpacas, pigs, chickens, horses and donkeys...all for meeting and greeting. You pay on the honor system. They have a place to wash your hands. If you've never been licked by a cow, visit. What a great afternoon at the farm. If you go to Manchester and have not visited, you are truly missing out. What an amazing farm experience! We got to take a tour with David and saw sheep, goats, a donkey, an alpaca, chickens, ducks, cows, pigs and rabbits. We were able to pet and feed a lot of the animals and learned a lot about the farm. We saw just born piglets, a 12 hour old calf and baby sheep. We were able to sample and buy some delicious cheese curds, local honey, yogurt and the store had a lot more to offer. They also had a huge playground. This is a must do! This was so much fun for all of us! we are two senior citizens, one forty something and a ten year old. we ALL loved the tour!! seeing the tiny baby bunnies was a highlight as was watching the tiny pigs zooming around their mother. we interacted with goats, sheep, donkeys, calves, turkeys, ducks and chickens. Drove by and saw the sign yesterday and brought the family back today. We were the only ones there so we got the run of the place. Very family friendly we got to see and pet sooo many animals! Goats, sheep, two big draft horses, baby cows, pigs with piglets, chickens, baby quail and turkeys. The place where the house the animals could be a touch more organized, but you can tell it's a local family farm so it doesn't bother me but others may expect something a bit more polished. The store however is very polished, organized and crazy great clean. We bought some butt bacon for hubby and cheese for me. I definitely recommend a stop! read more

A visit to this farm must be on everyone's bucket list. We were greeted my one of the farmers , Lysa, who was so beyond kind. The country store upon entry is adorable and sells tons of locally made products and of course ice cream ! Little did I know this quickly became the best day of my life. Lysa first brought us into the barn where we met a bunch of angels : 4 newborn calves and the rest of the cow gang ! As vegetarians , me and my boyfriend adored meeting the cows and felt so comforted by the love and care shown to these animals. We continued on the meet the chickens , pigs , ducks , rooster , horses , donkeys , alpacas and sheep (in that order). The cherry on the sundae was getting to hold Moon, the newborn sheep. Lysa made this day so wonderful. And we couldn't leave without buying a locally made sorbet pop! Id you're in the area this place is a must - go. 5 stars !!! read more

We enjoyed our guided tour at North Meadow Farm. The farm is a dairy farm, but also has a petting farm with goats, alpacas, turkeys, donkeys, pigs, steer and calfs, ducks, hens and bunnies. Our guide let us go into several pens with the turkey, baby goats and we got to pet many of the animals (except for the alpacas - not social - and bunnies - too hot outside). For tours, look for someone who works there are in the store. They do tours as people come in. There is also a playground with swings and play sets for kids to get out some energy! Overall, it was a nice experience at the farm but it was unfortunately a hot day even though it was just 10ish in the morning. Tip, go when its not hot as many of the animals really just want to be left alone. $10 adults, $5 kids unless 3 and under (free). I would suggest to go on a day when there are tours available. They don't really let you walk around the farm without paying the entrance price as they do need to make a viable living. I can see why as they sell what they make (raw milk, beef, pork, eggs, vegetables) and they need this to sustain their small farm. read more

The owner of @wunderwoven in West Wardsboro recommended we make the 30min drive from Stratton to North Meadow Farm and it couldn't have been a better experience. We spent an hour plus with volunteer, Bella, giving us a guided tour of the farm. We were able to see all the farm animals including being able to hold chickens, baby chicks, turkey's, rabbits, ducks and baby goats. They also had beautiful piggies, alpacas and cows. The farm store was staffed by her younger brother, Ben and they had so many offerings from different cuts of meats, cheeses fresh milk, eggs and ice cream. Visiting north meadow farm maybe was the best day of my life? We came to the farm on a Saturday and right as we walked up a pint sized kid asked us if we needed any help. We told him that we were looking for a tour of the farm thinking he would point us in the right direction. To our surprise, he said he would give us the tour. My boyfriend and I kind of chuckled to each other and I was a bit disappointed to be getting a tour from a kid. Little did we know, Ben is the coolest 9 year old around! He is so knowledgeable and assisted us in holding the animals with care (his sister was assisting too! And she also rocks!) It was an amazing experience getting to hold bunnies, chicks, and a 2 week old lamb! We also got to feed the goats and alpacas. It was a lovely experience and we definitely want to come back. We heard that North Meadow Farm had some nice cheese, so we stopped by and had a great time. There is a little farm store that offers fresh eggs, raw milk, meat, ice cream, and yes, cheese. It's on the honor system, and while we were browsing, several locals stopped by to pick up their weekly eggs, etc. We bought some of the everything bagel cheese curds, and we sampled a few others - all were delicious! While we were in the store, we were greeted by one of the farmers, Jesse, and he gave us the history of the farm and a little tour. We even got to say hi to the chickens and pigs. They are a community farm, and they offer lots of nice amenities - petting zoo, playground, picnic tables, etc. We stopped for cheese but got so much more. Had the loveliest time visiting this farm. We were looking for things to do with our 3 year old and this was perfect! Ben was our tour guide, and he was just awesome. You could tell within moments how much knowledge & care he had for those animals. We got to visit chickens, pigs, rabbits, cows, goats, and ducks! They even make their own cheese onsite which you can watch from the window within the shop. Ben makes doggie cookies too if you want to bring a treat back for your pup. This was our favorite part of our trip to Manchester! We highly recommend taking a tour. It's a very reasonable price ($10) for a guided tour and you get to pet the animals! It was very personal and Lysa is great! You can tell she truly cares for the animals and knows a lot about them. Once the tour ends you can stay as long as you want and hang with the animals. Ice Cream is the secret buzz word and it's yours if you're in the know! I really enjoyed my talk with Lysa and appreciated her love for cheesemaking and the farm itself. Sharing the Maple Cheddar Cheese for the first time was a real treat for me and we loved the silky smooth cheddar taste that is sure to be a favorite of cheeseheads for years to come.
