We had a great fishing outing 3-27-2019 with Fathom Charters out of Rincon PR. Sean and Dan captained and crewed our fishing outing and we all had a great time. The day included us seeing whales and dolphins and we had fun catching multiple tuna and several larger barracuda. We also were able to catch some nice triple tail which were very tasty. Dan cleaned the fish on the boat for us and we had the most awesome fish fry that night!!! Dan and Sean were so knowledgeable and they worked hard all day bringing us to the fish. Dan and Sean were also so personable, it was like fishing with friends yet they were focused on finding the fish all the while. They both have an immense passion and love for fishing. Booking with Fathom Charters through the owner Jonathan was very easy, his goal was to make sure our experience was fun for us and they scouted the weather conditions ahead of time and even brought the boat closer to our location because the weather report had predicted rough conditions at the other location. As it turned out we had a great day fishing... We will use Fathom the next time we come to Peurto Rico, I highly recommend this professional and personable company! I have experienced a few freshwater charters in the past that were great so I decided to book A charter for our family vacation in Rincon PR. I asked our host for a recommendation and was told about Fathom Charters so I booked them. I was impressed from the time I booked online until the experience was over. We had to rearrange for another day other than the day booked. They communicated by text fast and efficiently. Once on the boat they put us on fish immediately and it continued for the entire trip. Our family of 4 (2 adults and 2 teenagers) spent the morning fishing with Fathom. It was beautiful on the water, the boat was well equipped and plenty large enough for all of us to move about comfortably to fish and relax. The crew was great and they made the atmosphere fun for all of us. They helped us reel in our biggest catch of the day.....50lb yellowfin tuna!!!!! Deep sea fishing with Captain John was AMAZING!!! My son caught a Wahoo right off the bat even though they were out of season!!! My teens went on to catch 12 mahi-mahi. They had a blast!!! Captain John did not give up when we hit a dry spell for a bit and worked until he found a golden spot! He even stayed over a few minutes because the mahi were biting so well!!! Two happy teens who had never deep sea fished. Captain John was informative, patient and a pleasure to be with!!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!! read more

Had a fantastic half-day fishing trip thanks to Jonathan and Tim! Our group had a range of abilities, and they made sure we all had a fantastic time and caught some fish. They showed us the ropes and helped us haul in enough fish to eat for days! Tim and Jonathan were also great guides for area, making some fantastic recommendations. Solid charter company and very professional. An amazing day with Capt Sean. 3 good sized wahoo, a tuna, and some barracuda. Certain we would have caught more but we needed to get back to dock early. We took my three kids (6,8,10) and father and had a great time. The vessel was sturdy with plenty of room to walk around and fight fish. This is our 2nd trip with Jonathan. We drove 2+ hours to book a trip with him, because we knew it would be worth the drive. He's very knowledgeable about where the fish are and which bait/lures to use. He was great with our teenagers as well. If you're going to Rincón make sure you get out on Fathom charters. I took my 15 year old son and had the most amazing day. The captains made sure that my son caught his first tuna, not 1 but 2! We also got strawberry grouper and got to see a pod of whales up close. Couldn't have asked for a better day. And we left with plenty of fresh fish for the whole family for dinner. This was our second time going out with captain john and was absolutely a amazing trip, from chasing schools of tuna, to traveling out to desechaeo island and tracking down mahi, and having the first mate jump in the water and spear gun a couple of triple tails. Magical experience! I called Fathom for a Whale watching charter due to great reviews. Jonathan and Tom got us in the next day and communication was fantastic. Now to the surreal part...we got to spend about 30min with a Humpback mom and calf DIRECTLY under/next to the boat. Oh yeah, plus we caught (and released) a sailfish.
