In Rincon for a few days and this was a great shop to rent some gear for some self-guided shore diving. Service was great, overall gear was good. One reg set had a leaky hose and the other had a ripped up mouth piece, making it hard for reg to stay in. Told them about it on return. Rambo took care of what we needed and guided us where we could do some simple shore diving. Afterward, he gave us the DL on the bar hangouts that would not be as crowded. Oh and they are off the grid. Rain water collection and solar panels. Very very cool and eco-conscious!

The staff was knowledgeable and friendly and took time to make sure all of our equipment was perfectly fitted.

Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. They are attentive to your interest and level of comfort in the water. The instructors are so very kind and make you feel great. It is a great experience. The views of the coral while snorkeling was amazing.

Had a great dive with Shawn from Rincon Diving & Snorkeling. She kept us safe and maximized our dive times. We also were able to relax & talk in between dives at a pizza spot. Great dives! Highly recommend!

First off... WOW, what amazing views on the west side of island. A group of us travelled over 3000 miles to Puerto Rico for scuba diving exploration. A quick search through PADI Travel lead us to Rincon Diving, which already had good reviews. My group rented some tanks and did a dive about 30 miles north of the shop. From the sole perspective of renting equipment, Rincon Diving makes it easy and fast to rent gear for your dive or snorkel. We had tanks and weights loaded up in under half hour and the shop was kind enough to recommend a diving destination. We later went there and were more than satisfied with the recommendation. Afterwards, we returned the shop and hired an instructors service for a guided tour. A short drive and short swim off the coast later, and we were able to reach some significant depths and see some really cool aquatic life. The water this time of year (July) was clear and visibility ranged from 25-50 feet depending on which part of the island you are on. It seems Rincon has the calmer seas and, as a result, some very clear water. In winter months, visibility gets better, so we were told. If I ever make it back out to Puerto Rico, im going to Rincon Diving again. Thank you to instructor Matthew and staff for making this trip memorable.

They close at 2pm and will not check their emails until the next day. I was told this over the phone by their staff. They said they will try to update the site to say this (who knows how long that will take). I made a reservation the day prior at 6pm for a morning dive at 8:30am. I have made many evening reservations before at other dive centers, and I have never had a problem. I received a confirmation email with instructions to show up at 8am for the dive. Unfortunately, no one showed up. I waited until 9:30am and did not see a soul. I ultimately received an apologetic phone call at 10:30am where the employee subsequently informed me of the 2pm rule. I am sure this dive center gives amazing dives. However, it is a shame that such a great dive shop has such a misleading platform that lets you reserve a dive that may not be available. I sincerely hope this review helps them add a line on their website that warns users from reserving dives after they close at 2pm.

When I approached to purchase something, she was hesitant to let me in and asked what it was that I wanted. I said specifically an anklet, and since I guess it wasn't enough, she said they were closed,, I guess next time I'll say a surf board and diving knife. Once the initial review was made she rushed into our table while we were still enjoying dinner at the harbor, within the same complex, as a family, and approached us with hostility inquiring whether we had written the review. We explained that we two own a business and that's not how you're supposed to run things. She sat there and got loud and argued with us embarrassingly at the bar asking us to change our yelp review. I removed my three small children because it was getting uncomfortable to go get icecream at the corner cream shop that's located next to her store. She stormed off only to say fuck you to us in front of my children. If you ask me this business is run by an unprofessional hippie. If it was a local Puerto Rican, we would have never been denied in the first place before all the drama. These people don't belong on this island.

1-Star Review -- Extremely Disappointing Experience…read more Our experience with Scuba Dogs in Puerto Rico was extremely disappointing, and the biggest issue was the complete breakdown in communication and the way the situation was handled afterward. A week before our scheduled dive, Scuba Dogs contacted us and changed our dive time from 9:00 AM to 8:00 AM. However, 24 hours before our dive, we received another confirmation email from Scuba Dogs clearly stating that our scheduled dive time was 9:00 AM. Naturally, we relied on the most recent written confirmation sent directly by the company. The morning of our dive, the staff began calling us around 8:15 AM telling us we were late for our 8:00 AM dive. We explained that the confirmation email they had sent us the day before stated 9:00 AM. At that point, instead of acknowledging their own conflicting communication, they began discussing trying to reschedule us. We were traveling through Puerto Rico traffic and remained in communication with them by phone throughout the morning. We arrived later than expected because of traffic, but still within 30 minutes of the 9:00 AM time stated in their most recent confirmation email. Despite knowing we were actively on our way, they had already sent our dive guides home. They then refused to provide the dive AND refused to refund our money. What made an already frustrating situation worse was the response from the owner and staff. Rather than acknowledging that their own confirmation email contained the 9:00 AM time, they argued with us and insisted that we were outside the scheduled window. It is incredibly frustrating for a business to send a customer a written confirmation with a specific time, communicate with that customer throughout the morning, and then refuse service and keep the customer's money because the business claims a different time applied. We understand that dive operators have schedules to maintain and that customers have a responsibility to arrive on time. But customers also have every right to expect a company to honor the appointment time stated in the confirmation email it sends 24 hours before the scheduled service. If 8:00 AM was truly the final scheduled time, then the confirmation sent the day before should have said 8:00 AM--not 9:00 AM. The poor communication could have been an understandable mistake. Refusing to take responsibility for that mistake, sending the guides home while knowing we were on our way, arguing with us about their own conflicting communications, and then refusing to refund our money is what made this experience unacceptable. We planned part of our Puerto Rico trip around this dive and were genuinely looking forward to it. Instead, we lost our dive experience and our money because of conflicting information sent by the company itself. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend Scuba Dogs. If you do book with them, I strongly suggest saving every email and confirmation you receive, because apparently even the appointment time shown in their most recent written confirmation may not be the time they expect you to follow.

If you're looking for a nice relaxing day on a private island then this may be the trip for you!…read moreThis is a group tour that travels with more than just those you booked with. As long as 15 people are on the tour, they will take you to your Calebra. If less than 15 you stay local! There were well over 15 so we were able to tour Calebra. It was so beautiful! Once you get there, they pick you up on a ferry to take you to the boat . The boat travels for about an hour before getting to a private island and that is where you get the guided snorkeling or diving tour depending on what you selected! My friends and I did the snorkeling. As someone who can't swim (I know I know lol) I had a great time. The tour guides were very informative and helpful for all ages and swim levels. They do provide fruit, cold cut sandwiches and rum punch and when you stop . If you're looking for a "party" boat then this may not be for you. Don't expect lots of liquor and twerking etc it's a family type tour, Some of my friends were a bit disappointed by the price expecting that we'd stop somewhere that had a bar and restaurant but it was just a private island (we're in our high 20s low 30s). So idk I think it depends on your expectations but I was okay with everything and the service was great!

We were told we had to first buy and complete the course work through PADI and from There they would do the water/ dive sessions and compete the certification. The shop also gets a kick back from Padi as work since it makes u select a dive shop where ur course work is sent to. Once we complete the course work, we each reached out to the dive shop about 2 - 1 1/2 weeks in advance to schedule the dates and times for the water sessions. We did not receive any type of response back from the shop. We attempted to message on whatsup as requested but still did not receive a confirmation or any type of communication. We called down to the shop, where we were told to just text them. We again tried to text the shop but did not receive any response. We flew to San Juan and arrived and immediately went to the shop, we were told to text them and they would get back to us.. we asked directly if they had availability and we were told they would check and get back to us via text.... A day goes by, we attempt to call and no response.. fully we get a text saying they are fully committed...... This was without doubt the worst type of un-reliable customer service and a refusal to communicate.. I would not trust this dive shop or operation. They should never have told us to use to do the course work with their shop and then refuse to complete our certification. Luckily Scuba Dogs next door came to our rescue when we told them about the horrible customer service we received. Just be aware this shop will not be reliable.
