The folks at Faulkner Chevrolet are friendly, courteous and hospitable. They do maintain a low-pressure approach which was appreciated. However, I've bought and leased new cars from many other dealerships where I've had a much better experience. In the end, I got the car I wanted within a payment plan that worked for me. To make this happen though, I feel it required a lot of work, flexibility and attention from me. Lots of phone calls and emails back and forth between me and sales with very little respect for my time and work schedule. On 3 separate visits, the cars inside the showroom were very dusty, no excuse when there are idle salesmen gossiping around the sales manager's office. The finance guys were top-notch, worked hard and saved a sale that I otherwise would've walked away from. One caveat here, they will hit your credit multiple times if they have to, to get to a finance term that works. This will lower your credit rating. In my case it occurred because they promised a deal they couldn't really do. They will push an expensive service plan on you at signing. Not saying it's bad, just be ready for it. Vehicle delivery was anticlimactic and rushed. (Screwed up the OnStar transfer from trade-in to new). I drove away feeling "meh" on the experience. They didn't do me any favors and I don't feel like they did anything special or give me a deal I couldn't have received anywhere else. I can't speak to the service which I hear is very good though, I'll report on that in the future. Overall, I continue to love the GM/Chevy product, but there may well be better Chevrolet dealerships around. Update..... Back at Faulkner for the annual inspection and oil change. This is the 3rd time using service for routine maintenance. Service has been outstanding but they take the state inspection very seriously and it does seem to take a full 90-120mins to complete. Purchased a used Pilot from Faulkner, used the sunroof one time, would not close. Faulkner "fixed" the issue but water was leaking into interior. Agreed to pay $1100 for a NEW sunroof. What I actually received was a sunroof from a 2013 pilot (actually had to use a Brillo pad to remove the ink). Spent all this money just 2 months after purchasing the vehicle for $15k. Let me tell you a story of why I will never go back to Faulkner Chevy of Lancaster. I first purchased a new car from them in 2018 and took that car there for all of the service and maintenance until I traded it in three years ago for something a little bigger to suit my needs. I purchased a certified preowned vehicle and two days after driving it off the lot it broke down. Fortunately, it was covered under the warranty and repaired at no cost. About two weeks later a check engine light came on and once again it was covered under the warranty and repaired. About 1000 miles after the warranty expired I started having major issues. I picked it up from repair of an oil leak and it definitely did not seem right at all, but they told me it might smoke so I kept driving it. The next day, the low oil light came on telling me to shut the engine off and smoke was blowing out of it. They came and towed it at no charge and repaired it at no charge because i can only assume it was something that was their fault. I have always taken it there for all maintenance, oil changes and recommended services and I rationalized paying inflated dealer prices because I *thought* that meant I was getting the best care. They had always treated me with respect and seemed to value me as a customer. That was until recently. I took the vehicle in again for an issue and was told that the car was fine and they proceeded to mansplain to me that the issue I was having was normal. I assure you sure you it was very much not normal. I was told to drive the car until something happened. Well something happened. I had the car towed back where they told me that the engine was blown, and I needed a new engine. At this point, I didn't trust them very much so I went for a second opinion. The other mechanic simply ran a borescope down and told me the engine was fine and it was just a burnt valve and he could rebuild the top end for me. While I was weighing my options on cost, I went back to the dealership to look at some other cars there. They were not willing to give me anything for my vehicle nor even cut me a break on any of the other used vehicles there, so once again they were just trying to take me for every penny they could. Keeping in mind that I purchased the vehicle from them only three years ago and still have three years to pay on the loan. I guess loyalty doesn't count for anything these days and all these companies care about it money. I would stay far far away from this service department and better believe I will never buy another vehicle from them. read more

I brought my car in around January and had a belt tensioner replaced and was lied to about it leaking oil. Just for reference it's a non oiled encased spring that couldn't leak anything. Paid around 400 bucks for parts and labor and ended up being a non GM part (probably from autozone) that rattled and I had to take it back and get diagnosed once again to no avail. I had another shop put my old part back on after taking a look at it and realizing the part was perfectly good and the rattle went away. Friendly customer service, but their communication in regard to which key was an anti theft key and what key could start the engine was nonexistent. They simply told me one of the keys registered as anti theft and would not start the engine, another had the correct chip in it, and handed the.keys backnto ke with the wrong key attached to the remote. My Chevy was supposed to be checked with a 180 point inspection. Had the service paid, and apparent problem fixed. It stayed posted on the website for weeks. Then it went away and was posted again 2 weeks later. I noticed it was the same year as before and same mileage. Took 2017 Chevy Cruze to Faulkner for recall. Came back with estimate for over $600 of repairs needed for vehicle with less than 30,000 miles on it. Decided to get wheel alignment. Got onto Route 30 highway and car was pulling extremely to the right. Took it back. 45 minutes later they returned car. Got onto Route 30 highway again. Car was pulling to the left. The next day we took our vehicle to Mr. Tire. They did a wheel alignment and car was not pulling at all, perfect! Spoke with Dean Green in service department. This man was extremely rude! Laughing and acting like Mr. Tire took us for granted when Mr. Tire is the ones to fixed the vehicle! This man should not be interacting with customers at all! I ordered a part from their Parts Department only to get an email several days later that the part order was cancelled due to "seller pricing error". I had no luck securing a vehicle from multiple rental agencies, and on a whim, I called the dealership to see if there was anything they could do. I took my 2018 Tahoe in because it was making a noise. They determined it was the front differential. They fixed it and it was covered however when I picked it up the AC wasn't working. I brought it back in to be fixed. They then told me it was just by chance it broke after they had it. I argued with them that they must have broken it. Again they insisted they didn't even the manager insisted it was just by chance. I only had to pay $100 deductible but it was the point that they should have made it right. I sent in all the information they ask for and I was all ready to go be there right away in the morning and look the truck over. Had my car scheduled for ONLY an oil change specifically. When I arrived, Greg said my car was scheduled for an oil change AND tire rotation. I didn't ask for a tire rotation when I made my appointment. I told Greg that the garage was only to do an oil change. While I'm in the waiting room, another service rep comes out, Dale, and says we've done a multi-point inspection, which I did NOT authorize or consent to have done, and he gives me a list of $771 worth of things my car MIGHT need done. I said no, and reiterated for a third time that the only work authorized to be done on my car was an oil change. How hard is it for this place to follow instructions? They just want to milk you for things you don't need and didn't ask them to check. As I'm checking out and explaining to the cashier my beef about what's happened, and this is not the first time I've told them not to do work on my car that I did not authorize, the service manager, Dean Green, comes out of his office telling me that GM tells them to do these multi-point inspections and made things worse. The car is my property. I decide what work is to be done on my car. I was VERY clear when I made the appointment that all they were to do was an oil change, nothing extra. I was also VERY clear when I checked in that they were only to do an oil change. They do the multi-point to try to bilk you for more money. Stick to your guns and refuse the multi-point. If you're driving a car that passed inspection recently, you probably don't need anything they are pushing on you to have done. The service manager, Dean, was rude and argumentative. When I asked him to get away from me, he wouldn't. I couldn't leave because the cashier still had my keys, and I hadn't paid for the oil change yet before the manager came out there to mansplain things to me as a woman who must not know anything about cars. I purchased a used 2008 Honda Odyssey on 2/25/19 . The engine light came on two days after I had it . Being about 40 miles away .I stopped at Advance Auto , and found a code P3400 showed up . They were able to clear it and I was good for a couple more days . Then it came back on . That weekend we were going out and I went to start the car and there was no power . Popped the hood and the one battery cable was loose , so , I tightened it and everything was fine for about a week . I thought that cured the problem figuring the loose connection was setting off the the check engine light , Wrong . I called Gary my salesman and told him . I thought this problem was known by the dealer but they reset the code and didn't do anything prior to selling the car to fix the problem . So, then he told me to take the car to another dealer to have it checked . I'm semiretired and it was a $8000 that I could afford . I got to test drive a car but the salesman put the plate over the back up camera and had me use the auto park and it came inches from ramming my car square on. Totally his fault. No apology. He didn't even pay attention and was apparently not going to look back to double check, which I was doing and finally nailed the brakes, even after several assurances from him. So, go to Faulkner if you want your car hit? haha Otherwise the experience was good and he didn't waste my time and new something about the vehicle. We purchased a 2016 Chevrolet Silverado and our salesman, Gary, was amazing and very friendly. The other individuals my husband spoke with were wonderful too. However that is where our great service ended. When we walked in to sign the papers, we were in with the finance individuals for over an hour. After hearing the "warranty" options, we shared that we were not interested. Now mind you, their "warranty" would have increased our payments over 125.00 per month! He again went over the options and we declined. After the third time, my husband and I were beyond disappointed. Finally I said, "we appreciate your persistence, but please move on!" Well, he then again started down the path and my husband said, "we are about ready to walk out without purchasing from you." It was beyond the most frustrating and exhausting purchasing experience that we have ever been through. We would not recommend Faulkner and will not be using them for service or further purchases. Buyers please be aware that they will almost drive you out by pushing their warranty plans. We're still shocked, but knew that we were purchasing a 2 year old vehicle without ANY additional warranty from Faulkner. How is this possible that they would not include even a one year warranty in good faith since they say they are so focused on customer experience. We have had a problem with our Bluetooth since we bought the Trax. We have had the vehicle to the dealership at least 5 times for it and it is still not fixed. We are constantly being told by GM that it is a problem with our iPhone, so we bought a new iPhone 7. The new iPhone 7 still doesn't work. Now we are out $850 and still don't have a car that works as intended. Now we feel our problem is being ignored by GM. How can a little guy get a multi- billion dollar company to listen? I purchased a certified used 2014 Silverado in February and have since put approximately 4000 miles on it. During those 4000 miles I noticed that I had a slight shake during braking after long drives and that there was a very noticeable vibration at highway speeds. I had decided to drive it until it was due for service and have it all checked at that time. When I brought the truck in for service it was determined that all of the brake rotors needed turned and the front pads needed replaced to repair the braking issue and they would balance the tires to fix the vibration. Initially they were going to charge me for the repairs but after speaking with the used car people they covered them. I left there and noticed immediately that it still had the vibration at highway speeds. I called and scheduled another appointment. After a test drive they said that they would need to perform a road force balance to address the issue. After the road force balance was performed they informed me that the tires were bad and would need to be replaced at a cost of $500 to me. In the original ad which I have a copy of it states that the vehicle has new tires on it, which service informs me that it does not. I contacted the salesman from whom I purchased that vehicle and he is supposed to speak with his manager today to attempt to resolve the issue. I am having all of these issues after only 4000 miles of driving a supposedly certified used vehicle. I am dreading what the future will hold. I would like to note that the people at the service department were helpful and professional and I have no problem with any interaction that I had with service. Needless to say even if they make it right I wouldn't recommend anyone to go there. For $30000 it should have been right the first time and to expect me to pay to have it repaired with a 12000 mile bumper to bumper after only 4000 miles is beyond ridiculous. UPDATE: After some negotiations I received 4 new tires today. Unfortunately on the way home I find I still have the vibration that I took it in for in the first place so back to square one. read more

The vehicle sale went smooth other than them not preparing the vehicle as promised. The vehicle was cleaned and finished with a spray detailer, not detailed as promised. The spray detailer washed off with the first rain. They didn't paint the front bumper before pickup as promised, so we had to setup a follow-up appointment and they still didn't get the bumper painted that time...third times a charm. The General Manager, Chad, never returned my call during this process. Keep in mind, it was a thirty minute drive to and from the dealer for us each time. Service did fill up the tank after our forth time in. Then there was a gas smell coming from under the hood which the service department was not capable of determining the cause, so I had to take it to Apple Chevy (truck was still under warranty) and pay $200 to diagnose. The #7 plug was lose and had failed the plug and wire. They did replace the plugs and #7 wire (under warranty), but then the vehicle didn't run right. The engine surged, delayed shifts into gear and the idle was too low at the top of each gear . I didn't trust them to work on the vehicle at that point, so I took it to my mechanic to be fixed, another $180. It's a great truck, but Faulkner service is lacking to say the least. They were supposed to fix a suspension problem too. Shortly after Faulkner replaced the rear air shocks, the rear tires started rubbing the inner fenders when loaded up with camping gear. They were "ordering parts", but I've had no call back and it's been more than a month. Brandon is not consistent at following up. You live and you learn. read more

Made the appt w/the dealership after reviewing my problem with my CD player. It was mention that they could swap the CD player/radio with another one. Swap did not attach itself with a hefty $$$ tag when the service crew reported back to me ON THE DAY of service. Was not happy to leave with the broken CD player after having it work for only 1 month from when I bought the vehicle. Yes, the warranty DID NOT cover the CD player, and YES, I DO NOT have an executive job salary, so YES, I HAD to leave with the No CD player replacement option. Yes, everyone has to MAKE $$$. So where is my $$$ when I have to take out MY TIME to have $$$ repairs with a dealership. I am NOT making ANY $$$ while I am there. And YES, DID leave with a light bulb replaced $6+$97 payment to the dealership for services rendered. Will have to change my appt to other cost effective means. read more

Yes, we sat on RT 30 for 50 MINUTES! That's how important we were to them. Then when they give us a price - it's firm. No wiggle room, no "we left you sit on Rt 30 for 50 minutes" discount. Nothing. We told them we had seen the car we wanted right outside of Baltimore and asked if they could get closer to that price. The F & I guy told us "if you can get it there, go there." Guess what, asshat? Wasted an hour online with this company. I was looking to purchase a new vehicle and was looking to get their best price. Was asked about whether I was paying cash or financing. I said either; I was looking for the best bottom line. Then it was about my trade (which is considered cash). I was not looking for them to give me a price on my trade-in. I already knew the cash value as I had several dealers looking to buy it without a purchase (that was the true value of the car to a dealership). Then I get the run around that I have to come to the dealership. Of course they wanted me there in a day or two. Finally I stood my ground and say forget the trade. Give me your best price. The answer I got was the same price they had on the website. Why in the world would I want to drive a hundred miles to find out that their price was set in stone. The online person most likely knew that. Granted, what she was doing was what her snake in the grass manager wanted her to do. Get the potential buyer in and then screw them.
