I had an extremely disappointing experience with this dealership. A senior citizen in my family was pressured into purchasing an expensive extended warranty that they neither wanted nor fully understood. The sales process felt rushed, and the warranty's cost and terms were not explained clearly enough for someone in their situation. When we later tried to get answers and resolve the issue, the dealership was unhelpful and unwilling to take responsibility. Instead of treating an older customer with patience and respect, they seemed far more interested in making an extra sale. I would strongly caution anyone--especially seniors or anyone helping an elderly family member--to carefully review every document before signing and think twice before agreeing to any add-on products. First, we bought a 2023 VW Taos with Ervin being our sales person.   That's really only because that was the vehicle we had been looking at it and were happy with it.   It was a CPO vehicle with a little warranty left and a decent price.  That was probably all the positives. 1st getting to look at the vehicle is a ridiculously long process.  I get copying my driver license, but then having to answer a bunch of questions I didn't care about is painful.  I had to spend 10 minutes or whatever saying I don't care.   I didnt care about the color or anything.  I gave Ervin the exact models I wanted to look at, other than that I didn't care.  So from the time we got there till we could test drive the model I wanted to see and ended up buying was 45 minutes.  My wife went back into the car and was just done and wanted to leave.   I kept her waiting, but another minute or 2 we would have left.   Luckily we finally could test drive it and it was good enough.   2nd I told Ervin if we bought it, the front passenger doors had some spots I wanted scrubbed off, other than that I didn't even care if it was washed.   He said it wasn't a big deal.  Never the less when we got it, it was washed, but no one looked at the spots.  I rubbed off some with my fingers, but still some more when I get time to clean.  So clearly like the whole experience he was barely listening but not hearing me. 3rd I scheduled a purchase time, we were paying cash, gave Ervin all our information Friday even hoping it would be quick.  We got there a few minutes till 11, our time and told we had to wait for a few more people so it would be at least 30 minutes.   Supposedly Ervin got them to squeeze us in since we were going to be quick, but it still took a hour.   Then once done we had to wait for it to get gas, that's fine, but couldn't have been done sooner.   Then had to wait for it to get washed, maybe reverse order, but either way, if I known they were skipping the only external area I wanted clean, I would have said skip it and not waste my time.   4th It was finally time to leave, Ervin handed me the 1 key fob.   I wish he would have told us sooner because the car is for 2 - 16 year olds to share.   They both have to have a key to it so they can get into it before after school sports at possibly different times.   Also, only having 1 fob, what do we do if it gets broken or lost?   Now I have to contact service, I am guessing that's how I buy it. Then pay to get it programmed.  They were closed when we finally got the key Saturday so I knew we would have to wait to call service this week. 5th we got home, I went to put the paperwork in the glove box and it was full of trash.   Ketchup packets, a feather, and other junk.   Not just a little that could be missed, but it was pretty full.  The center console has a hair pin and a small bottle of something.   I feel the owner cleaned it out, but Faulkner did not even look. Ultimately, this was the worst car purchasing experience in my life.   I may go to another Faulkner in the future, not sure, but it will be a long time till I forget about the misery of Faulkner VW.   Even if it was just one or two or three bad things, I don't honestly remember one good thing about buying from Faulkner VW.    Also, they still haven't been able to get the VW remote access working since it was broken from before I bought it. This allows you to use an app to lock and unlock remotely from the app and more. That is all, I could nitpick more things too, but I don't want to seem like I am just complaining. read more

Worst dealership I've ever been too. Bring my Jetta in for oil change, tire rotation, and inspection. Tires were never rotated. Car fails inspection for one tire. Pushy service person we can put new tires on today for $1200. I declined. Also pushy salesman tries to push another $1500 worth of services that were not needed. Got the tires replaced for half that cost with top of the line tires. Go back in to get the inspection finished now that the tires are replaced. Now it's "you have to make an appointment and pay for a new inspection". 99% of other shops in the area will let you come back in if you corrected the problem. My wife's 2024 Atlas with less than 20k miles on the tires and they are junk because they never rotated them when I had the car serviced, which I paid for tire rotations. Also they do not top off any fluids and when changing the oil they put in the minimum amount so you will need at add oil before the next service. The car wash does a half ass job. Take pictures of your car also, because ours got scratched while having warranty work done. I'll follow up and let everyone know how the repair turns out. Most likely some mismatched touch up paint. DO NOT PURCHASE YOUR VEHICLE OR GET SERVICE AT FAULKNER VW!! I don't want anyone to experience what I went through! My google one star review is not visible on their site Oddly enough! I bought my vehicle, a brand new Volkswagen GTI Sport Manual, in 2017. Also, I loyally took my vehicle to Faulkner VW diligently for all service and maintenance tune ups until this last Monday, 2/17/25. Unfortunately, I had bad experiences there from the moment I signed the contract. I thought going to a dealership would bring me peace of mind and make me feel safe in my vehicle and for my family. However, this place is a STEALERSHIP and does not work with integrity and honesty. Multiple times where Faulkner VW had claimed to have rotated my tires and did not. Other issues where they rebuilt the clutch when I first bought the car since it squeaked, oil cap laying on the engine not placed back on, scratched my interior panel when placing inspection sticker on just to name a few serious issues I've dealt with. Too many issues to mention and I have all the invoices to prove it. There was even a Lemon law issue on a leaky door, where I had an attorney represent me and I got compensated. My car only had 44,800 miles when the clutch system suddenly went out. (Oddly, I had a Honda Civic prior to this for 14 years with 150,000 miles and never had the clutch replaced) I was on 114 (Hogestown Rd)when the gear wouldn't engage losing power and almost got rear ended. Luckily, I was not on I81 or in a cattle shoot where someone could have been seriously injured or killed. When I called Faulkner VW service advisors, they were not concerned with my well being nor my safety. However, I still got it towed to Faulkner VW since I've been loyal to them and they quoted me for $4.388.04 estimate! This quote was sent by a text message, which I still have on my phone, and not even the decency to call me and explain the situation directly. Also, I never got a call back from the Service Manager, Melanie Kuzma, nor the General Manager, Jim Collins, when I left messages. When I finally got through to Melanie she was only concerned in me paying the diagnostic invoice before Faulkner VW were to release the car to me. Also, she offered me an appraisal on my car, which I found very demeaning and unprofessional. Really?! I paid the $164 diagnostic invoice to get my car released to me since I never want Faulkner VW to work on my car ever again!! As a result, I got it towed to another shop, which they quoted me for less than half of Faulkner's quote. The mechanic confirmed it was the clutch system and said it was highly unusual for the clutch to go this early. I was the sole driver and no one drove my car except myself or anyone at Faulkner VW. Very interesting based on the history that I've had with VW Faulkner that my clutch went out all of a sudden prematurely! FAULKNER- TO BE UNSURE!!! Those who own Volkswagen cars probably understand first hand that they are manufactured differently and it can be challenging to install a new part of any sort (for your basic auto parts store). VW Mechanicsburg was prompt at replacing my entire computer system that was completely fried from the battery replacement at no cost to me and held the auto parts store financially responsible for the damages (once I provided proof of purchase and installation from my receipt) The office staff was reassuring and helpful that my car would be back to normal in 24 hours read more

There is an obvious lack of communication between the Sales Department and the Service Department. My daughter purchased a used Toyota from this dealership. It was promised for delivery, but first needed new tires and shocks. This took a week and they missed the target delivery date. She then told them she would take delivery a week later. She had an appointment on Monday at 9:30 AM to pick up the vehicle. She showed up on time and was told they took the car to Rahal Toyota for a recall. Another missed delivery date. It's like the left hand has no clue what the right hand is doing! Do not go to this car dealer! Tried to look at a used car and the A/C did not work well. We asked if the A/C could be looked at by their mechanic. The sales associate kept saying he would talk to the supervisor. The supervisor refused to do anything other then say try another used car. We had to walk away from a good car minus the a/c. In early February 2019 I called Faulkner to schedule an appointment for my 2010 VW Passat. I expressed the need for a loaner, Faulkner said it would have a loaner on Thursday and to bring my car in then. When I arrived Thursday Faulkner did not have a loaner, however, that is not my main issue with Faulkner. I have only serviced my Passat at VW Dealerships and prior to my appointment with Faulkner I recently had a new water pump installed at another VW Dealership. Faulkner sent me a video of the problems with my car and provided a proposal to fix it. Faulkner said it needed to install a new water pump. I explained to Faulkner that I recently had a new water pump installed and it should still be covered under warranty. Faulkner failed to recognize the warranty from another VW Dealership. I stated that I would rather get the pump put in for free under warranty, rather than pay for another water pump. Faulkner then charged me $100 for "labor." Apparently, sending me a video of my car constituted "labor" in the amount of $100. The $100 fee was never mentioned prior to me stating that I would be servicing my car at another Dealership because of the warranty. I was contacted by Faulkner's Customer Service Department and I expressed my issue of the unreasonable fee Faulkner charged, without notice, simply because I opted to take my car to another Dealership who would provide the water pump under warranty. After a heated discussion with Brian Price from Faulkner on or about February 15, Brian stated I would be refunded the $100 "labor" fee. On May 29, I still did not receive my refund so I contacted Brian Price. He apologized and said I should receive it within two (2) weeks. On June 19, I still did not receive my refund so I again contacted Brian Price. He apologized and said, "it appears there was a mix up processing your refund." I finally received my refund on June 24, about four (4) months after I was suppose to receive it. I would leave a one (1) star review but am leaving a two (2) star review because Faulkner did eventually refund my money. However, I will not be going back to Faulkner. read more

I tried to work out a deal and they were only willing to knock off $400. That's not negotiating!! The car was a 2015 with 80,000 miles on it. Thats too many miles for that year of car going into 2019 and they still didn't wanna work something out. Wouldn't even take off $1,000. I DO NOT recommend this place. Complete rip offs! Being a person who helps run a business and works in the customer service industry everyday I am not one to leave a bad review, but save your money and go elsewhere. I have been taking my car here for years, even purchased the car through them... I was playing around with the idea of trading the car in over the winter. They offered me $1,000-1,200 less than every where else up the Carlisle Pike. Ever since then we felt as if we were being ripped off bringing the car here to be serviced. Today they gave me my estimate, before approving them to do the work I called all the other Volkswagen Dealerships in the area (ones my friends go to because they refuse to go to this one) they ran through all the parts and labor costs with me. I'll be receiving the same work for $750 cheaper somewhere else than what they quoted me here. I came in to pick my car up and expressed all of this to them and they told me "we are trying to help you but it's 7 hours of labor." I was upset and told them to save it and give me my keys and he then proceeded to tell me I owe him money for the estimate, I laughed tried to give my card and finally someone said just waive the fee. Wow glad you finally learned some customer service skills after all that. I will not be bringing my car back here, I am very disappointed in how all of this was handled. read more

Scheduled the service two weeks in advance and provided my VIN, took a half day off work, drove an hour to the dealer and after 20 minutes and was informed they did not have the part they needed for the service. I paid over 4000 this year for car repair at this Faulkner Volkswagen. I was disappointed about the amounts of charges incurred and number of visits traveling to this location. As I remembered, I had car inspection done. Now, car inspection usually means the car will be good for a year without accident or repair. However, this is not the case for me. After inspection, my wheel felt off from the car and wheel came out to the opposite side of the road. That could have killed a person. Luckily, there was not a lot of cars in that time. I called towel truck, and the person charged a reasonable rate for picking up the car. When the car was at the dealer, I was told it would take sometimes fixing up the car. After repair was finished with multi-points inspections (the car should be good), couple weeks later, I cannot turn the car key to start up the car. I went to the dealership again and told them I would like to order a carpet mat in addition to the fixture. Again, Cory Jones, failed to listen to my requests from the first time and second visit. After a couple months later, my car had a served engine sign on. I took the dealership and told them the problems. They unreasonably charged me large sum of money and did not listen to my request of floor mat. The overall of my experience of this location is that I believe this dealership is scamming money. read more

I looked at the CARFAX they provided for a 2017 Subaru Outback 2.5i Limited vin:4S4BSANC5H3316883 it showed that a four wheel alignment had been performed at 1,894 miles, I found this odd. Faulkner should have also thought this was odd, as would anyone who knows anything about cars. The salesperson had said "It looks like the vehicle has had all of the recommended maintenance". I asked for documentation and was told "the only documentation I have is what's on the CARFAX". When I compared the CARFAX to the factory recommended maintenance, it became clear that some were missing. I would think that a dealership would do any services that couldn't be verified before selling a vehicle, so it would appear that Faulkner hasn't serviced this vehicle at all, since they don't have any documentation, just the CARFAX. I called the dealerships that had serviced the vehicle in question (listed on the CARFAX), to find out what services had been done on the vehicle. I discovered that the vehicle had been in two accidents that weren't reported to CARFAX, and had the grill shutter serviced twice, so it is possible there is damage to the cooling system/engine. Those were listed as "four wheel alignment" and "vehicle serviced" on the CARFAX report, but the factory recommended services weren't completed at those visits. I provided Faulkner and CARFAX with documentation of one of the accidents, the grill shutter replacements, and where they could get information about the second accident. I hope that Faulkner does the right thing and discloses all of this information to potential buyers. read more

Before being negative, I'll say a few positive things about Faulkner WV -They have a large selection of cars. -The salesman I bought from was pleasant. He read the owners manual for my car so that he could help explain any features if I needed help. Completely unnecessary, but a nice gesture. -They give you five different types of Starbucks coffees to choose from. Problem One: Communication I had nice speakers in my old car, and I forgot to take them out after buying a 2012 Honda Civic. Completely my fault. The next day, I ask if I can stop by and grab them. He says, sorry but as soon as I left the lot, I lost my opportunity. The car is junk, nobody is driving it again.This seems like it would be the tiniest opportunity to provide customer service, but whatever. A few days later I have an unrelated issue with the car I just bought, the dealer says he can't fix it but he says that I can come in Thursday to grab the speakers. At the time, this came off as a sort of crap bribe to me but I was happy. I come in Thursday, and the car is gone. Somebody tells me that if I wanted the speakers, I should have grabbed them the days directly after I dropped it off. Thanks for the advice. Problem Two: Trustworthiness The other problem I had with my experience was also minor, but speaks about Faulkner's customer service. Days after buying the car, I found out that one of the back windows doesn't work. It's barely an issue, but it makes me worry about the quality of the rest of the car. Did Falkner's autoshop do a bad job and just not see it? If they didn't see something this obvious, what else could they have missed? If they did see it, why wasn't it something that was mentioned to me? I ask if anything can be done to take care of it, and am told no. The car was sold as is. Before signing for the car, the sales manager explains Faulkner coverage. You pay a bit more but if an accepted type of problem comes up, they'll help fix it. At the time I didn't think much of it but on reflection, it feels a bit slimy. Pay us more. We'll fix the things that should have been fixed before we sold you the car. This is a dealership. Indira spoke to me on the phone, and within a half-hour provided me by email with exactly what I'd requested. She followed up by phone, sensing the email may have gone to my spam folder, and she was right. I was relieved to know that she hadn't forgotten me. I was very disappointed with the dealership's unwillingness to negotiate a cash deal for a new vehicle. The website disclosed a dealership discounted price for the vehicle we were interested in. Once the numbers were presented it was disclosed that the price represented on the website only was available to those willing to finance a vehicle (not disclosed). I was actually told they would increase the price quoted by $1500 if I did not do financing. We had no trade and were willing to pay cash for the vehicle and were told that made no difference to them in negotiating a price. I was utterly amazed and disappointed that they would take such a stance and allow an almost done deal to be lost over the fact that I only wanted to pay cash. Maybe I am a bit old school, but I truly thought with no trade to deal with and a cash paying customer I would have been treated with greater respect. read more
