I was a happy State Farm client for many years…read more About 8 years ago, I bought a house in Roeland Park and my agent wouldn't insure the house because the roof had 2 layers. My realtor referred me to Jon, and he got me all set up with a good policy and reasonable rate (despite my double roof layer). I've had a couple claims and Jon and his office team have been extremely helpful, pleasant, quick to respond...all the good things you would want from your insurance company. He makes sure you have the proper discounts that you are eligible for, even recommending things I didn't even know I would qualify for/existed. When I think of insurance, it seems kind of boring and dull, but Jon sends fun newsletters, facebook contests, birthday cards, calendars, and informative advice. He is always available to answer questions or help you figure out your current insurance needs. Unfortunately, I will have to switch my auto insurance when I move to Colorado because Jon is licensed in Missouri and Kansas only. I can solidly recommend Jon Olson, Farmer's Insurance. Especially give him a call if you have a need that your current company can't cover; he's creative and has good resources to help you out.

    Jon has been super helpful with all of my accounts. After such a horrible experience with "not a…read moregood neighbor" Jon and his staff have been a breath of fresh air! We did need to use our auto insurance after an accident and it was a breeze. I would recommend Jon to any business owner or individual!

Update 6/19/26 After a pleasant conversation with Eli on June 18 and 19th, I'm happy to say that the wheels are in motion on getting a new adjuster assigned to replace Shannon H. I give kudos to Eli as he is an example of what to do. Shannon could learn from his example. In my conversation with Eli, I made him aware of the customer abuse and mistreatment that I received, and that more training on listening skills, Interpersonal communication, skills, and customer service is desperately needed. I also informed him that I am a former customer service and quality analyst manager for a major telecommunications Now retired. Fully trained and I know what communications skills are needed to create the perfect contact and Shannon is lacking in many areas. Including, but not limited to: lack of empathy, lack of respect for individuals, lack of diversity, and inability to express loyalty to a client who's been with State Farm since 1993, when I signed up with Larry Hawk, who was my original State Farm agent. On June 17, the day of the accident, I specifically asked Shannon for a manager call back, which still to this day has not happened. Usually when a representative takes this action or inaction, it's good indicator there's a possibility they are hiding something. I have to wonder how many other innocent victims have been subjected to her abuse. Yep, a loyal state farm car and home owners client for nearly 30 years and zero appreciation. With my former agent Larry Hawk, I also carried RV and camper insurance, boat owners insurance, as well. So as you can see, State Farm has made a lot of money off of me in three decades with hardly no claims that have been filed other than a minor accident, roof (hail damage) and a windshield. I remind you that this accident on 6/17 was not my fault and State Farm, who I hired to be my agent, victimized me all over again. When I need answers and feedback to get direction on how to proceed, I got hung up on, not once, but TWICE !! I deserve better and so do you. Original review below. This had originally been a five star review, but after today's horrific experience with Robin, Savannah, and Shannon, I'm sad to say it's now changed to one Star. I was involved in an automobile accident this morning and the accident was no fault of my own. I called my agent State Farm to set up a claim. Also spoke to them about setting up car rental insurance for the next time an accident should happen. I called to initiate the claim and was provided a claim number. When asked if I wanted to set up rental at that time, I advise the State Farm agent I would call back. When I did call back, I spoke to a woman by the name of Robin (Same girl who set up my rental agreement ) and told her I needed to speak to the claims office about setting up a rental. She immediately reminds me that the car rental will not be covered under the policy, which I already knew. Robin did not understand that this had already been discussed with the previous State Farm agent when the claim was filed. The fact of the matter is he specifically said that since the other party is at fault, State Farm can help me get get a car rental and arrange for Reimbursement for the car rental, since the accident was not my fault. My problem is I don't appreciate Robin and false her accusations that I'm trying to cheat State Farm out of a car rental!! What the heck! I'm the victim already of a car accident, State Farm is supposed to support me not victimize me even more!! They literally have made an already bad experience, even more horrific. When I try to speak to my adjuster about it and explained that to her she rudely talked over me a refused to listen. Why?? Likely because of whatever horrible things, Robin said about me beforehand. She ended up hanging up on me simply because I told her to be quiet and listen.
