Despite I am not a spiritual person this website contains articles and literature on mental wellness and relationships. I find their e-book "Being Your Best Self... With Difficult People" very resourceful and helpful in my Sisyphean Task. With a calm mind in turbulent times one can accomplish any challenge which the insight from Spirituality & Health provides a holistic approach. There is also the emphasis of empathy and compassion in their articles. However, the holistic approach is not entirely overpowering nor aggressive but very subtle in their articles and literature. Amid the daily motivation emails are heavily cluttered with religious and spiritual beliefs which many are irrelevant for me. This January, 2024 marks two (2) years of my beloved family member's expiring; this June, 2024 marks thirty seven (37) years of another beloved family member's expiring; and this March, 2024 marks forty nine (49) years of another beloved family member's expiring which all are indelible for my continual grieving the unfathomable losses. I read and value Spirituality & Health's grief literature which is comforting and healing. With mindfulness self-care, resilience, compassion, and understanding empathetic I believe the world can be a better healthy processed living environment.

Arriving, the structure feels almost otherworldly, especially when you find the doors secured and the whole place sitting in a quiet, reflective pause before the day really starts. The exterior is a big show anyway, with that spiraling stainless-steel spire twisting up into the sky like someone tried to merge a cathedral, a nautilus shell, and a piece of futuristic sculpture into one improbable landmark. I stood there looking at it and genuinely wonder what the architects were thinking, but in the best possible way. There's a strange charm to walking the grounds when nobody else is around, because the building doesn't just sit there. It looms, it gleams, it practically hums with its own personality. Independence has plenty of historic architecture, but this one breaks the pattern completely and the contrast makes it even more fun to take in. Parking is also available in the parking garage behind the venue. Minor drawbacks include tight-fitting chairs, some stiff sightlines if you're in the balcony, narrow stairs and the bathrooms being in the basement.

They feel very accepting of people, and preach love for God and all of mankind, not just those that agree with them. I've never been the 'up dancing in the aisles and screaming out' type, so I really like that this is a more sit back and listen church, though when they do sing everyone is welcome to join in! I also like that there's different mass times, so it's easier to fit into a busy schedule. The only reason I'm giving this place 4 stars instead of 5 is because the priest is sort of difficult to understand sometimes, he's not the best at enunciating. There is a small antiquated gravel parking area. Inside is a sanctuary, where I sometimes attend meditation meetings. The sanctuary looks '70'sish but the stained glass is utterly beautiful. The lighting is fair. There is a small kitchen and a bathroom. There might be a second building, but I swear the second building is the size of a guest house. This place is tiny! It's pretty cool that it's there. I don't attend church (heathen) and I am pretty sure if I did, I'd attend Unity Village near Lee's Summit. I feel very fortunate that Unity allows the use of their facilities and are so giving to our group.
