My most recent visit this month changed all that. I went with my son because we were in town. As it was the first place we knew we wanted to eat, I made a reservation well in advance and we showed up on time. It was noisier than usual and pretty hectic. We ordered a few appetizers and meals and a drink. No one ever checked in on us or refilled our water. I flagged someone down for to go containers as we wanted to save room for dessert and a second drink. They brought the containers and then we proceeded to sit again with no one checking in. We had been there for approximately 40-45 minutes total and were still waiting on someone to come back with the dessert menu when the host came to our table and said "there's a party with a reservation who needs tho is table so could you please leave soon?" Never has this happened to me. How insulting. When I expressed confusion stating we hadn't even received a check so why would we leave, rather than offer a proper apology and/or a "can we get you anything else?" She just said "oh that's not what I was told." And then a server brought us a check. I asked him if 45 minutes was the usual amount of time they give customers with dinner reservations and he said "I'm not sure. We're just really busy and probably overbooked." Again, no offer to make it right. Initially I wasn't going to leave this review. I reached out directly to the restaurant via email to tell them about the humiliating experience of being asked to leave when we weren't even done. Instead of offering to make it right (anything would have been appreciated - a dessert on the house next time - just some token indicating they valued me as a customer) they just explained that there was confusion and that they've talked to their staff so it doesn't happen to anyone in the future. Both the experience and the response put a horrible taste in my mouth and sadly I will probably not be back.

I couldn't see in the sunlight for an entire day and hadn't slept the entire 3 nights because It's 50 degrees and I was shivering so intensely the entire time that I lost 7 lbs. my system was in survival mode not letting me sleep to lower my temp in case I didn't wake up. That's not even the worst part. They denied me more than one phone call or help to feed my cat since I live alone. I screamed cried and begged for three days to get her food and water and they laughed in my face calling me a crazy cat lady. My cat barely survived and now cries and howls for hours on end every time I leave the house because she was traumatized. And the whole time I was innocent but they don't care even if you have a full alibi and evidence

These 5 stars goes out to the most exceptional outstanding human being you will ever encounter while being locked up here. CO Jason Soto #554. This man gets called all sorts of names, is berated and verbally abused by the various animals that pass through this system and yet he maintains his composure and treats all of us exactly the same. He takes time to acknowledge every prisoner and tries to answer all their questions to the best of his ability. He repeatedly fetched cups of water, toilet paper and food whenever he could to try and accommodate everyone. I would say this man deserves a promotion but then he would have to be moved away from all the detainees who NEED a person who's so compassionate and patient in a situation like that. Thanks a lot Soto, but I hope I never see you again. Edit: SMH&FML...I accidentally violated a no contact order to help save 3 children from abuse and neglect so unfortunately I have to turn myself in again. Hopefully the time is cut in half this time and Officer Soto is there again during my stay.

I don't want this review to Drag on so I'm going to get right on with it…read more There's something very special about the dragon firefighters, and you can't really argue with a crew that has to deal with one of the oldest and most densely packed little neighbourhoods, and one so busy and bustling and so hard to navigate. They do a wonderful job and also manage to celebrate the culture and history and tourism of the neighbourhood, and while doing it they actually make themselves one of the many tourist attractions in Chinatown. Wonderful work from these wonderful people. And I'm deeply sorry to all the families and firefighters here who lost people in 9/11 and my thoughts and love is with you.

We made a comment about the dragon on the front of their truck and they happily gave us a little history lesson about Engine 9/Ladder 6, the Dragon Fighters. They were really nice and knew a lot about the history of their fire company. They even put the garage door down so we could get a picture of the dragon on the door. If you ever get the chance, talk to some of the firefighters here. They're really nice and will give you a history lesson if they have time.

I was drawn to this business page because on this morning's news they said what they called the Firefighters Museum (and they said it is on Prince Street), was closed! They said it was closed indefinitely because of structural issues in the 120 year old building where the museum is housed. I've searched the web and this is the only museum I can find related Fire Departments and the history of Firefighters in NYC. I'm finally doing my review so you will check before you visit. This museum may be temporarily closed. I'm going to look for my additional photos to post. It's definitely an overdue review!

It was less exciting than I'd hoped--I guess I'd expected to see, I don't know, like one fire truck that looks like the ones in his books--but it was still a worthwhile stop, and he enjoyed himself quite a bit. The museum is small, housed in an old fire station in Hudson Square, with exhibits spread out across a couple of floors. You enter and exit through the gift shop, which is also where you purchase tickets. The guy at the register was very nice, and we bought three adult tickets (mom, dad, grandma) at $10 apiece, all so the little one, whose ticket was "free," could enjoy fifteen minutes roaming among the firefighting artifacts. I think we were the only visitors the entire time we were there. We saw a handful of old fire engines spread out between the two floors, and these were pretty cool, and Leo recognized them as fire trucks of sorts and enjoyed looking at and discussing their big wheels. He was less interested in the smaller items, which would probably be intriguing to slightly older kids. We also kept him out of the 9/11 memorial room, which seemed less designed for boisterous toddlers than the rest of the place, but which we adults appreciated. I honestly think our kid's favorite part of the museum might have been the gift shop, where I discovered that my son understands the concept of buying things and taking them home. He wanted every fucking variant on a fire truck toy--squishy and plastic, small and large; ambulance, van, engine. We settled on a big fire truck with an extendable ladder, which is now one of his favorite toys. It was over $40 and one of the stickers started peeling off pretty immediately, but I do think it's reasonably solid quality. We bought the same one for a friend's two-year-old, as well as a soft toy for his baby sister, both of which went over well. We also got an FDNY T-shirt for Leo, so the museum made a decent amount of money off of us. I'm guessing we didn't see all there was to see, but as our two-year-old wasn't clamoring to learn about the fire department's history, I think we did things right. We had a pleasant visit at the NYC Fire Museum and would recommend it if you or your small ones are fascinated by firefighting.

The Sunday we went by and it was very different very chill bartenders were super friendly and drinks were perfect. I recommend go on Sunday.
