Absolutely the nicest and most engaging people we have ever come across. We shared a few stories and told them about our police force back home. They were so happy to chat to us and share (limited information of course). We felt really comfortable engaging with them and they did a fantastic job at the protest too. Cool, calm and collected, out in force looking after everyone. Well done NYPD, you all did a great job. Really nice personable people.

I always stop and let them know how I appreciate their service and presence. When I was at the Feast of San Gennaro this week they were present. They are at all the main public events I've attended. At the Feast they had a table set up for recruiting. The nice officer kept trying to get me to take a free pen. Make no mistake about it they are underpaid especially rookies. It's dangerous work and great benefits for those that survive. I'm not recommending you join the department but I am recommending them as they are currently treating me. If that makes sense. I'm glad they are around when I need them!

The space is fairly small, but packed with a lot of different activities for little ones to do. There are five different 1.5-hour sessions per day, and that's just about the perfect amount of time to enjoy the space. They also give you a token to get a little snack before you go, and that and the time checks toward the end made leaving easier for my toddler. Some of the toys of course get a little depleted and mixed around during the play session, but the person on staff came by a few times to try to help reorganize so each play area stayed fun. I was really impressed by how clean and organized the whole place was overall, and it didn't feel overcrowded like other play spaces we have been to. Definitely support this family-run, Black-owned business! In addition to the regular play sessions, there are also events, crafts, and a gift shop to explore.

There's a lot to explore in a tiny space. The vents with the handkerchiefs and recycling truck were hits. The coat area is so crowded and too full. If you add in all the strollers, it's insane trying to get your items if you wait until the end of the 1.5 hour. The unavoidable shop at the front is very enticing. There are tables to eat snack in the shop, but you'll inevitably be asked to buy everything there. Your entry includes on snack, which is a nice gesture.

Seriously, there has to be something wrong with you. My sister is one of the pickiest eaters that I know. Always has been and always will be. She just started eating raw onions several years ago and still doesn't like cooked onions. Even she was able to find something at Jacob's Pickles and it delicious. With regards to the rest of what we ordered, we ordered the Hog In A Blanket as our appetizer and both my daughter and sister ordered the Grilled Salmon Salad. I ordered the Turkey Leg braised in white wine and served with whipped potatoes, Rosemary Biscuit Stuffing, homemade cranberry sauce and gravy. The Hogs in a Blanket were their version of Pigs In a Blanket. The major difference being that Jacob's Pickles are served in puff pastry and with their own house made pickles. Yummy! The salmon salad was served with baby greens, sliced oranges, red onion, cilantro and a light orange vinaigrette. Everything and I do mean everything was delicious. It was a gut-buster of a meal and everything was perfectly prepared. The salmon was expertly cooked and the turkey literally fell away from the bone and tendons of the turkey leg. Just plain old good food in an attractive homey setting wins out all of the time! It's a must go!

We ordered the fried pickles appetizer, which were pretty good. I ordered the smash burgers and the ratio of bun to meat was laughable. The bun was 3" thick and all I tasted was bread. I have no idea how the meat was because I was eating mostly bun. The fries were nothing special, just whatever they order in frozen. My friend ordered the Buttermilk Biscuit Sandwich. It came with burned bacon and over-fried green tomatoes that I tried, but were so chewy they were inedible. She said the chicken was also over-fried and dry. She said the cole slaw was spicy and flavorful and so moist that it made the dry chicken edible. Our third friend ordered a salad (I forget which - some kind of wedge) and she said it was pretty OK.
