This is THE BEST haunted house in the Bay. Hands down. High quality scares, characters, rooms and staff. The maze was accessible, suspenseful, and well managed. I would HIGHLY recommend doing it twice- once with the flashlight and once without. It takes it to a whole new level of fear and adrenaline.

Captain Jack is the most kindness and humorous of them all... But dare if you will and go inside to see some of the scariest faces and screams. Definitely would come back! Only recommendation is that they actually make it two houses vs combined into one. Note: do not recommend for children! They will be scared.

Got the "immediate admission" tickets, and it came in handy to skip the lines the Saturday before Halloween (yes, there was already a line when they opened at 5pm). But I think the Fast Pass tickets would have been sufficient and better value (if you're arriving closer to opening time). It was fun. We had a single flashlight which was so cheap and dim that it was almost pointless to use. Besides, it's not exactly pitch black in there, so we could see the themed decor and setup just fine... as well as the monsters that creep up on you inside. I like that they didn't just do the typical jump scares... in fact the quieter creatures and characters were sometimes creepier. The sets were decent, not cheap looking, and the costumes and makeup of the actors were pretty good, for both those inside the haunted attraction and others outside scaring attendees waiting in line. I like the thrill of haunted houses, so in our short-lived, somewhat overpriced, excitement of "two haunts" combined into one continuous walk-through, I made sure there was lots of screaming :D

This place was very scary my friend went on to Snapchat and started dancing !!

Well it was very scary my friend Giuly said she had fun and enjoyed it.I really loved this place !!! Coming back soon with family and friends

I loved it! The actors were amazing. I was spooked, but enjoyed every minute of it! Thank you for a great night out.

It was a fun experience for the most part to cap off a wonderful birthday night for our eldest. Wait time in line for general admission was a good estimated 15 minutes. I got a good scare and scream throughout the maze for myself and my bunch. However, I found some of the security and actors to be a bit hostile. I get they deal with a lot of people and in some situations things can get a little tense and safely for their actors is a concern. But mind you my group of preteen boys were literally just being kids goofing off in line and playing a game to help pass time as we waited to get in. I observed my group's interaction with the few actors passing and for the most part they responded with typical behavior as if they were startled or scared. But one of the actors & security took offense to some of the kids reaction and security gave them a warning to behave or they'd be asked to leave. I didn't address security but rather as a mom chaperoning 10 teenage boys i just reminded them to stay close to me, be kind and respectful. But honestly I think they were just as confused as i was by the verbal warning. Nonetheless we went about our night and made it through the haunted house, the kids got a kick out of the maze. Although, I do think there should be a little more direction or guidance inside because it's so dark we ended up following the exit signs above and was scolded by an actor for going the wrong way. Lol, it was an honest mistake on my behalf I just couldn't see. Honestly, a lot of the people working there could use a serious break and maybe a few kind words (thank you btw). I know I can't speak on their working conditions but in my opinion it reflects in their demeanor. Nonetheless I would say give it a go I enjoyed it and so did my bunch. The bloody bunny doll with a button for an eye was probably the only one that we saw in line waiting that stayed in character and didn't have a complete attitude. Lastly the preacher character, talking to a bunch of preteen boys about their "private parts" was inappropriate, unprofessional and unprovoked. You're an adult (working at that) DO BETTER please and I do mean that in the most respectful way possible.

Fear Overload Scream Park Reviews in Other Languages

Ask the Community - Fear Overload Scream Park

Is it the scariest haunted house in California?

Worst haunted house I've ever been to. I've been to local ones put on by neighbors for fun that are scarier. Scariest part is the 3 hour line to do the 10 minute walk of shame

How much is it to enter and what else is at the place other than two hunted houses?

The price depends on if you buy a general admission, fast pass, or a immediate entrance ticket. And there is only 1 haunt to walk through, not 2.

What is the latest that they will let you into the park?

Ten minutes before closing is the latest you can buy tickets with cash.

How many in a group can enter?

This year they're starting to limit it to 4 or 5. Anything more and they will split it up.

How long does it take to go through?

We don't let everyone go through at one time we try to space everyone out, on our busier nights (Friday's, Saturday's and Halloween) we can't control how fast or slow people move through our 2 houses but we do our best to give space between groups.

What the age limited ? Want to take my 10 year old Son

I wouldn't recommend anyone under the age of 13 BUT that is at your discretion.

What age do you think this place is appropriate for? I've read anywhere from not under 12 to 15 with is a big difference to me. What do you think?

In my opinion I think anyone 10 and up is good but some 10 year olds can't handle it so it really depends on the child. 12 and up would probably be best though.

However, since we waited so long, we got out of the trail around 750pm. My kid wanted to play the carnival games, which close at 8pm, so we bought some tickets to play, and were out to the carnival by 752pm, they had already taken everything down and had only a few simple games still up. My kid was bummed, but I figured since there were no refunds, I could go back and get a snack instead with my tickets. I was denied and told to come back next week to redeem the tickets. I know this is all for a good cause and it really isn't too big of a deal, but it is silly that I literally bought the tickets within a minute and then walked back after the carnival being closed and then denied to even use the tickets on anything else and then told to come back next week. They were told not to sell any tickets since they were closing up the carnival early, but I guess it wasn't communicated well. I guess we will be back to use up the tickets next weekend...?

My heart is still full from an all-around amazing recent experience at the Alameda County Fair…read more Noting the fair ends on July 6, we had an open Saturday before summer weekends begin to fill to enjoy something new and different in our own East Bay backyard. So grateful we did! There's a little something for everyone at the Fair. The weather wasn't too hot over the weekend, but we did prep and pack a few items suggested: a cooling towel, stroller fan, comfy walking shoes, hat, sunscreen, chapstick, light jackets for evening, kiddo snacks, hand sanitizer/wipes, etc. Really preparing for a day out in the sun and a cool evening with a breeze. To note in prepping, the Fair is cashless and you can grab your tickets/parking pass ahead of time online and save to your digital wallet for easy entry/barcode scanning. There is also lotsa content/programming/entertainment if you may not be a ride or game enthusiast. This go-around we didn't do any Fair rides, but we did grab some tickets to play a few Fair games and came back with a few fun photos, memories, and stuffed animals for the kiddo. For those with kiddos, there's a cool new barn area where you can see newly-hatched chicks and other farm animals like a cow, horse, pig, goat, etc. Next to this open "barn" there's a small petting zoo you pay a couple bucks for feed (they accept cash for this) and it's free to enter and pet the animals/take photos. There's also small pony riding (probably for a fee), pig racing, and also an indoor critter area with reptiles, bunny rabbits, and more. There's a new margarita tent that's super fun with yummy and fresh-off-the-grill tacos, music, and a vibrant atmosphere. There's a few stages throughout the fairground with live music and entertainment (we watched a country group and were apart of a comedy show), and several bars throughout the fairground as well. Food-wise, the Fair has so many fun (and large) options. A few things our group ordered: tacos, a gyro, cheesesteak, huge baked potato with customizable toppings, corn dog, a curly fry brick, sausage on a bun, deep fried Oreos, and froyo. Check the entertainment schedule if that's up your alley for evening. We grabbed seats on the grass area outside of the stage (they have TVs set up for those that don't buy concert tickets) to enjoy the music. We jammed out to a Taylor Swift Cover Band. There's also evening drone shows I believe, hot air balloon moments, and more. The website should give ya all the info you're looking for. Hope you're able to enjoy the fun for all that a Fair is and hopes to accomplish! We sure did :)

He enjoyed all the rides he tried, especially Woodstock Express, and also had a great time exploring the playground area. My husband and I had fun too and were able to enjoy a couple of the bigger thrill rides while enjoying the rider switch. Overall, the park was clean, fun, and full of activities for the whole family. The only disappointing part of our visit was the food. I ordered a pizza platter with cheese pizza and baked mac and cheese, while my husband got the chicken tenders platter with salad. Unfortunately, both meals were served cold. My pizza and mac and cheese were barely warm, and the chicken tenders were cold and hard. Considering we paid around $40 for these meals, it definitely didn't feel worth the price. Despite the food experience, we still had a wonderful day at the park. My advice: if possible, bring your own food or plan your meals ahead. The rides and family fun made the trip worthwhile, but the food was a major letdown.
