It is my pleasure to be the first person to review the Aaronsburg Inn. My husband and I stayed for…read morethree nights while in Pennsylvania for a short getaway. The Inn is a beautiful, inviting property. Though on the main road, it is incredibly quiet both in and around the grounds of the Inn. The inside of the Inn is restored to perfection with some truly remarkable architecture and common spaces. We stayed in room #2, which features a comfy bed with soft linens, couch, and perfect shower/bathroom space with incredibly soft towels. Though this room is located on the main floor and closest to the staircase and kitchen, we heard nothing before we woke. Common areas include a living room and library with tons of books. There is also a quiet dining room that we ate breakfast in once. The other two mornings, we ate breakfast in the nook closest to the kitchen. It was cozy there and we got to have some great conversations with Jack. The breakfasts were incredible - this man is a genius chef! I had Mediterranean toast one morning and salmon toast the next day. The presentations were beautiful, but the food was so good and fresh. The toast, alone, was delectable. We also enjoyed a double protein chocolate muffin- um, yum! My hubby got his standard- eggs, toast, and bacon. Each morning, coffee was available. Tea was available all the time- which is great since I usually have about 5 cups a day. Jack put out cookies each afternoon, which we were more than happy to eat. We were happy to donate to the honor system in the hallway to purchase lots of bottles of water and late-night candy. Wifi is included. While my husband fished one day, I sat in the area in the back outside and worked. It is super quiet and peaceful. If you are wondering about things to do, Colburn (about 5 minutes away) is a fly-fishing mecca. My husband said it is some of the best fly-fishing he has ever experienced. Down the road, about 5 minutes is Millheim, where you'll find a coffee house open in the mornings and Elk Creek Cafe and Alehouse- great beer and dinners! Visit the Aaronsburg Inn to unwind. We gave the Aaronsburg Inn a try and I'm so glad we did! We stayed on the top floor in room #7 and it felt like we had our own hideaway. It's like a suite, with room to sleep 4. It was impeccably clean and had full amenities like robes, toiletries, and a fridge. We actually had the kids stay over with us a couple of times. The breakfast was the best part, though! The owner, Jack, cooked for us every morning from a perfect little menu that is put out every night to choose from. In the evening, we sat out at a table in the back garden and had a nice honor bar to pick from. We usually choose chain hotels for reliability, so I'm not really well-versed in BnB's. But this family-owned spot is trustworthy and such a nice break from corporate chains. In fact, we are booked to stay again in the same room in a couple of weeks and we can't wait!
