But beware the sugar-sweet tone of their callers: Translation: Was their collateral impaired by Ian? Why do they want to know that? Well, once the house is damaged, their collateral is no longer worth what they loaned you on it. They can ask for more money from you perhaps, or perhaps call in the loan. Bad enough people lost their homes-- must TMF now make it worse by calling in their mortgages? If they want to know this, they should send out their investigators and underwriters, instead of further victimizing those who lost their homes. Shame on you The Mortgage Firm!

Ms Lanthier presented herself as someone competent in tax preparation of all 50 states including California. Yet she was unaware that crucial forms CA Form 568 and Form 3588 were necessary, and I was subsequently not informed about the mandatory LLC fee. As a direct consequence of her oversight, I'm now facing unexpected fines, interest, and penalties from the state of California that have accumulated over 2 years and will amount to over $1000! When I signalled this error I had to call her multiple times in order to reach her. When she finally answered after the 5th attempt, she agreed to file the revision quickly. However, it's been almost a week and I haven't heard from her nor is she responding to my emails, texts or calls with the filing deadline looming in 2 days. This has been the most disappointing and frustrating experience I've ever had with a tax professional. Based on my experience of business negligence and misrepresentation above, I strongly DO NOT recommend hiring Lanthier Financial Services.
