Not difficult paperwork and we were not new clients to this firm. However, we waited for 3 weeks, calling several times a week, but calls were not returned. One day, both my Mother and myself called twice, meaning 4 separate messages we left yet no call backs. I don't know if James didn't get the messages or he chose not to return our calls, but after 3 weeks we went to different law firm, Stuart & Branigin. The next week I set up an appointment with S&B and when I called BE to pick up a copy of the old will, suddenly my calls were returned and "the work paperwork has been completed". Upon our first consultation, she talked a big game, collected her $3,000.00 upfront, but after 7 months, not responding to our questions and seemed unavailable even when we tried calling we learned she was checked out. The parenting workshop and other things ordered by the courts that were completed she did not turn into the courts for months; we would ask why they were not showing? The secretary would send an email last minute prior to court the night before stating it looked like it was going to be postponed again. We would ask why, what was going on, but often we received no answer. Then looking at the court docket, it would say "Cancelled reason Other" or "Vacated". It was a very frustrating that she collected the money, literally met with us for the consultation, one very brief office meeting and one very short nasty conference call. On the call that our entire family was listening to, we had our checklists of what we had turned in, she contradicted herself several times and would get very nasty during the conference call. We proved that they all docs had been turned in by submitting the emails with dates of emails and attached docs being resent showing them the dates sent. Her office is very unorganized and she herself is just not a nice person to deal with. We decided after that seven months, we were not getting anywhere and hired a new attorney who did a great job! She had everything settled and wrapped up within less than two months without even needing to go to court. It did cost another $2500.00 but it was worth it! In addition, Christine Desanctis refused to give any of the docs, refund any of the $3000.00 she took and she refused to turn over the docs and file of everything we had given her over to the new attorney. The new attorney with our help had to start all over but she was awesome and was very diligent at getting it handled promptly. Always read reviews before you hire an attorney!
