I hate this place. Every time I come in here just condescension city and attitude from people making minimum wage. The last time I came in it was four of them facing each other no one else in the store they were all facing each other with no cares in the world. When one of the CSR reps finally graced me with her service she acted annoyed that I didn't understand the new Fed Ex automated scanning technique you may have implemented in the last 2-3 months and got really rude when I asked more questions- the crazy part is there were four people on staff all rude - and didn't seem to care or want to be bothered by a customer. I visit this FedEx Office Print & Ship Center location solely to utilize its self serve print & go machine. There is one closer to me on the west side of Chicago, but I choose this location mostly because I have no worries about parking versus the location nearest to me which is a pain! A 5-mile drive to this location from my neighborhood is better than my vehicle being towed or ticketed. As for this location its lot is shared with a Party City location that is rarely busy at times. And both businesses coincide with each other well in-spite of their separate in-and-out traffic flow. As for entering this location, I have never been acknowledged by any of the employees once I have entered, but I imagine that they know I have entered because they have acknowledged other customers at times. What can be a pain at this location I imagine is trying to exit the parking lot onto N Western Ave during peak traffic hours of the day. Yikes! With that, I recommend choosing wisely the time of your visit if you consider this location. I've used this place in the past and they were friendly and usually efficient. Epic fail tonight, they couldn't print a 20 page b/w document with an empty store and an hour from closing time. When I asked for help to use the self serve print and go the employee didn't know how to use it. Seriously a joke. Worst service EVER. 1. Had an issue with printer and had to go to the counter 4 times before one of them fixed it. First is was 'be right there and never came' then just pushing random button that didn't fix the issue. 2. Once we got it working the Printer shot out stuff from someone else order plus mine. Staff person thinking she was taking the extra papers grabbed mine too and sent them all to the shredder. Seriously why would you grab papers from someone's workstation when you have no idea what they are printing. Not to mention wasting paper, time, and money. This is probably my favorite FedEx location, I definitely come here the most, despite having other ones way closer. I will go out of my way to come to this one. The employees are really nice, and helpful, always ready to assist you. I use their shipping services quite often. When I need something printed right away, and I'm on the go already, I come here, and get it done quickly. You can drop your packages off for shipping, if you already registered online, it's done very quickly and without any hassles at this location. I would say that the staff's positive attitude is what separates this particular FedEx from other ones I have been to. Besides that, it's a standard FedEx, nothing fancy or exciting going on here, and that's just the way I like my FedEx to be. They also have a parking lot, which is always nice. read more

I had a pretty bad experience with FedEx Kinko's at this location. I placed an order with instructions to print two-sided from a Photoshop file (I have this in writing) and they only printed one side. Unfortunately, there was no time to rectify the problem. More generally, my experience with the staff was that they only did the minimum necessary to avoid outright neglegance, they showed very little initiative to help me solve problems, even a quick glance at the company's own web site would have revealed an answer. I've been using Kinko's in one form or another since the mid-1980s, if this location on this day is any indication, things have slipped lately, perhaps since FedEx acquired them. read more

Marissa and another amazing FedEx employee (I'm so sorry I can't remember her name) were fantastic. They were very helpful during a process that was very stressful until we walked into FedEx. I had wedding invites to print. They both were patient and made the job effortless on our part. They made sure the invitations were ready on time, faster than the usual wait time, so my mom could help me put everything together while she was still in town for the day. The invitations, detail cards, and rsvps look great!! They were so well done we couldn't be happier! I would definitely recommend this FedEx location. The ease of creating, printing, cutting NYE invitations was a lil more than I expected. Thankfully, FedEx was there to guide me through the process. I had created a pdf of an invitation and needed help picking out card stock and adjusting the size of the invite. I realize these aren't too difficult to do but what made the experience so pleasant was Fed Ex staffer, Scott. He was so patient and friendly even though it was crowded and practically everyone and their mother was asking him something. You will have a bit of wait at this place depending on how many people are working but once it's your turn, dont' fret...they will give you undivided attention. read more

I frequent this Fedex location fairly often, for copying, scanning, and the occasional computer use when my own machine is being serviced or down. The thing you need to know before using the computers here is that they are as slow as molasses. I understand it helps them when they are charging you 30 cents per minute, to provide you with a slow computer. But geez, guys, it's not 1997. Get with the program and get some faster PCs. The other things I think is funny here is that some Fedex corporate process improvement committee obviously spent hours coming up with the recommendation that staff here yells a loud "hello" to you when you enter. Of course, it's someone who's helping another customer 50 feet away, and you have to spin your head around like Linda Blair to see who it was, and if you're like me, you want to respond in kind. So you end up yelling "hello" yourself into the thin air. It's like when Dominick's got bought out by Safeway and got all "customer-servicey." They would ask everyone at the checkout if they needed help carrying their purchase to the car. So I would always answer "yes" as I checked out with my package of Chiclets. Carrying that gum could exacerbate the old lumbago, you know. Seriously, though, the folks who work here are always very helpful, and they have solved some problems for me and helped me (the worst administrative assistant ever) with numerous projects. I like their conveniently long hours, too. And their collection of funny animal-themed greeting cards. I always stock up on those. read more

The customer service here is slow and ineffective, and the staff's knowledge on scanning is questionable. I had an oversized document that I need scanned into a TIFF format, brought it in and the staff scanned in a few seconds and returned with my USB drive. I paid my $6.99 + taxes and went on my way. Upon returning home, I was unable to find the file on my USB drive. Called the store, they said they cannot email the file to me, so I returned to the store. After I waited 10 minutes for service, I was told that the file they had placed on my USB drive was there. Upon inspection, the file format is not the one I had asked for, therefore I was unable to open it on my Mac. I pointed to the file, which is a XPS file (for PC only) that it is not the format I had requested, and the staff membered corrected me in a condescending tone that "It's TIFF, dear." When I requested that they convert the file to the format I had requested, the staff member simply changed the file name in the file browser. i wanted to make sure I get what I paid for, so I asked her if she could email me the file in addition to placing it on my USB drive, she told me she was unable to do that because she can only email PDF files and that it would be "at my own cost." I got home and checked my USB, and the XPS file was present, but I was unable to open it on a Mac. Called the store and asked for the manager to complain, I was told that she was on the the phone and they will call me right back. 6 hours later still no call. The staff here is clueless about digital file formats and could use more training on the subject. Even though the cost for service is minor, this ordeal also costed me two unnecessary bus trips. Speak of the devil, I was having tremendous difficulties with a print job recently and the lady working there not only tried to fix the problem, she also refunded the money put on my card because I was on the computer longer than I needed to be (due to their glitch) which was very nice and I only had to pay for the printing of one page! This location is convenient since it's walking distance from our place. However, the customer service could use a lot of improvement. Last week, Hubby had a package transferred there when we were not available after several delivery attempts. When I went to pick it up, there were several people waiting in the counter and no distinct line. I waited a while before being acknowledged. Gave them the door tag and my ID. The lady notified me that the package was already being sent back to the shipper and that I could call the 800 number to see if I could stop the shipment. I walked back home, called the number, and was told that I was misinformed since the package already had a tracking number back to the shipper. Turns out, we had two different packages with two different tracking numbers. I went back to see if I could pick up the other package later that evening. Waited again to be acknowledged and assisted. The same lady who helped me said that she did see a package with the same last name and address on the shelf when I was there earlier. Hello?! She could have been proactive to figure out I was picking it up for Hubby, especially since I had the same address on my ID... I guess we'll have to suck up sub-par customer service for the sake of proximity. read more

I had a quick project to get done and send off. Spoke to Christine (store manager) on the phone and asked for her ideas. She had good suggestions, so I was convinced it would go well. Despite a lot of customers (and a crazy amount of boxes someone had just brought in that all needed to be processed somehow) I was able to get my project finished and FedExed in no time flat. It seemed like Christine was the one who was keeping the place running that day. Whether explaining to someone how to work the registers, picking up the slack on the shipping side, or helping the people in back with output jobs, she was very busy but I didn't see anyone with any big holdups or problems as a result. read more

My roommate went in two weeks ago and was able to have five 24x36 color photo enlargements done while she waited. She said it was busy, but the staff was super helpful and got it done very quickly. She had the finished prints in no time. I walk in there today and ask to have the same done, smaller print size and only one print. The lady told me I would have to go home, submit the photo online, wait 24 hours, approve a proof, wait another 24 hours and I might have my print after all of that. I told her what a good experience my roommate had just last week and she looked at me like I was an idiot for even suggesting it. Whatever, I left and went home. I searched on the website, and every single info page about photo enlargements says to go to the store. I call the store about 10 minutes after getting home from being there and sure enough, I am supposed to submit my photo at the physical location. I explained what happened to the guy who answered the phone and he gave me the same BS as the woman I spoke to. Then he basically called me a liar when I told him how fast the service my roommate had received. These people have to be lazy because no one can be this stupid. read more

Drove by this fedex on Western at about 6:00pm on a Wednesday evening and was almost hit by a vehicle trying to avoid the 2 fed ex vans parked illegally with one facing oncoming traffic and one was actually about 5 ft into one of the 2 northbound lanes with both having their back doors swung open. I called and spoke to the manager Michelle and asked kindly if she could go out and tell their drivers to move into the parking lot or at least get out of the lane of traffic, the managers response was i had to call corporate because that wasn't her problem. I told her I would have to cl the police because that was unsafe and her response was just, ok. I am glad I have a closer fedex to go to with this kind of employees there and let alone being a mamager! read more
