The space is clean and well stocked with boxes, printers, and computers, making it possible to accomplish a lot of tasks. I've visited here to mail packages as well as use the printing services. Because I'm able to access the printers without help from the employees, I can usually get out of there pretty quickly. The biggest downside is that on more than one occasion the printer has been out of ink. Where it gets tricky is when you have to mail a package and interact with the employees, because the team has zero motivation to be quick or efficient. If you're able to get there when there isn't a line, you might have a chance to get out of there quicker, but otherwise just know they will be taking their TIME. I stopped in on a Saturday morning because parking on Southport can be impossible later in the day. I was surprised to find that this FedEx has an indoor customer parking lot--a rather sizable one at that. My return was quick and easy. At 9am I emailed my order for 11 spiral bound decks to be printed same day. I didn't get a call to confirm so at 10am I called to confirm. The manager at Southport FedEx confirms the email and before quickly hanging up she says "we'll call you when it's ready". Seven hours later at 5pm, Southport FedEx EMAILS me that they will complete the order by 2pm the FOLLOWING day. I immediately called that there is a mistake, the manager confirmed at 10am today and said she would call me when to pick up. The employee said, the manager is gone- you can talk to her tomorrow when she gets in. I cried and asked if they could now rush it bc it is for an important meeting at 8:30am. She told me they are behind on order and there is no way. IF this was the case at 10am- why the manager did not give me enough notice to find a solution elsewhere is BEYOND ME. Very rude agent hung up on me after saying I'll have to talk to the manager tomorrow... SO Southport's FedEx location metaphorically punched me in the gut and spit on my face. Leaving me 1.5 hours before all FedEx locations closed, I called four other FedExs and begged if my decks could be completed before close. Luckily the FedEx at 608 Lake St has an angel working there Janaya who heard me crying in desperation and was able to help me. Southport's manager and team needs to shadow Janaya for a day to learn how to help customers and instead of giving them hope, hanging them out to dry, and sending them to get fired by their boss for not having the 11 decks they sent in at 9AM!!! I spent 45min in the store today trying to print a ONE PAGE document. Excel file. I couldn't print it in the self-serve. Stood in a line to discuss with a staffer. I am DISABLED - clearly - I wear a special shoe and was limping and struggling to stand in the line. There are NO CHAIRS available (except by computers on opposite side of shop). Got to desk and staffer immediately dismissed me with "you need to make a special request. We can't print it immediately. You'll need to submit your request with that woman over there" "That woman" had an equally long line waiting for her. ZERO effort to let me get to front of line given my circumstances... So -- I stood in another line for another 10+ minutes. Got to desk and that woman immediately balks "you just need to convert it to a pdf!" I ask why the 1st woman said I needed a special print request which demanded I stood in another line with my disability... no answer... I had to walk across the store to get to a chair to sit down asap, my legs unable to stand another minute. Sat down, tried to convert my ONE PAGE excel file to a pdf via my phone. No luck. Tried using the computer - charging me 75cents/minute as I needed access to Adobe (pdf) - computer wouldn't let me access neither my email nor Google Drive accounts. This cost me $5 - and more time - to end up empty handed. By the time I left, I'd spent 45min in the shop, 30min of that standing in lines, etc. and EMPTY HANDED. All I needed was ONE PAGE printed! I called FedEx to discuss the charge to my credit card for the computer that didn't let me do anything.. and they offered nothing but an empty "sorry that happened" despite me sharing repeatedly I needed that ONE PAGE for a job I'm working at 6am the next morning... I'm FLABBERGHASTED a print shop couldn't print a ONE PAGE excel document. And most importantly - ZERO HANDICAPPED ACCESSIBILITY. read more

I ordered 100 pages to be printed here a week ago, and got an email confirmation that they were ready and would be held for up to 30 days. I walk in and first they "can't find my order". I offered to provide the order confirmation order which the person behind the counter declined. Magically he found it after checking a different computer. But lo and behold, it's not ready. He said he'd start printing it now that I'm there, to which I asked "why wasn't it already printed if that's what my email said?" "I'm printing it for you now ma'am" "that didn't answer my question, but okay..." Thankfully it was ready fairly quickly but the refusal to answer my question and the lack of apology for the error left me less than pleased. read more

I've been frequenting the Southport location for 6 years. The previous manager and staff were very friendly and helpful. The new manager is rude and disrespectful. The staff talks smack behind the counter. I've been hesitant to use the location, since I experienced the decreased quality of the staff. I'm hoping my next visit will be an improvement. Came here on a Saturday around 10 p.m. My husband and I had two very important packages to bind and send out and the poor reviews made me nervous about the quality of our deliverables. To our surprise, we were very well taken care of by a patient and knowledgeable individual by the name of Michael. We had several questions about how to best send out our package, about the type of paper used and binding options, and Michael talked us through each of these options. The only 24 hour access to a printer! Well, if you don't have a personal printer. FedEx is a lifesaver if you need to print in the late evening hours during the week, or weekends. Prices aren't bad also, and they have multiple printers to choose from. On a side note, i also forgot my thumb drive at this location; the evening i printed my papers, so i called them in the morning, and they held my thumb drive, until i was able to pick it up. One of the employees mentioned that there were many of forgotten thumb drives. I guess many people just said forget it, and didn't bother retrieving theirs. Nothing but a great experience at this location, and I'm sure i will return in the future to print. There aren't many other options on a late weekday, or weekend. FedEx is my lifesaver! read more

My gal pal was waiting ever so patiently outside. She assumed I was hijacked inside. What was to be a simple package drop off took over thirty minutes to complete. I'll give you a screen shot of what I experienced. -Introverted employees. Maybe one of them that was a bit more outgoing than her co-workers but unfortunately she wouldn't wait on me till my associate finally gave up control. -One of the four couldn't of given less of a fuck to help out the customers in the store. She was more motivated to go on her break. -Watched one guy get torn to shreds by a lady that wanted to open a pack of paper clips because she only wanted one and wanted the employee to think "outside of the box dude" in trying to help her complete the purchase. I walked in a few minutes before 8 pm. Promptly this lazy dude tells me, "it's 8 pm and I have to get the shipments ready." OR.. he could have asked one of his co-workers to quickly process my shipment so that my very necessary package could have gone out with what they had. It took dude fifteen minutes to process all the packages, he didn't make the 8 pm timeline. I'm standing on the side watching this twat fumbling as steam is now exiting my ears as well as the four in line behind me. I still don't understand why in the time it took, my package is going out tomorrow and not with the packages that were still sitting past 8 pm. Meanwhile my gal pal is sitting outside texting me in wonder. What the heck is taking so long. There is a UPS store across the street. Oh how I wish it was open and I could have gone there instead. I needed to overnight documents for work yesterday. I rarely have to do this, so I just took the documents and went to this FedEx. They walked me through everything, did everything for me, and were friendly. I was worried about paying by check (I don't think I've ever paid for a purchase in a store with a check before yesterday), but they said it was fine. I'm not sure why this location has such terrible reviews. I spoke with them over the phone and went in, and both people were quick and helpful. This review is strictly for customer service. I came to this location the Friday before Christmas fully prepared to spend an hour and leave broke and frustrated. Tricia, Brad and Anika were all super helpful and calm, even though it was crowded and I'm sure everyone is overworked. I came here to get a 1 standard page color copy. I called ahead of time and emailed the document to their store so that it will be ready. I got into the store and they were helping out customers but having long side conversations in between tasks so everyone was getting impatient waiting. When I got to the counter, the document was not printed out and she had trouble locating it and had to ask people a few times. It was a simple document that just needed to be in color and she unfortunately had trouble. I have been to other fedex's before and it was very simple and fast. The employees are nice enough when they decide to wait on you. Sometimes I feel like they are completely ignoring me. They are always understaffed but a little acknowledgment could help solve the frustration of standing in a line. They've now put all the packing supplies away so you can't self serve anymore either. Choose Fed Ex Office location you want to pick up from (option of them sending it to you for a small charge) 3. Pay in advance on line 4. Pick up your pretty little documents I wanted to print my resume and have it look really nice, and they did the job. Got to pick paper type, color of paper, font, # of copies. A big part of conjuring up new business where I work is tackling the Request For Proposal (RFP) process and that was the whole reason why I was here last night. I had eleven documents; one original and ten copies, that I needed covered and bound. I chose the covering with the black back cover, clear front cover and black spiral binding. I also needed it shipped out overnight, so it would get to where I needed it by this morning and FedEx was there lend an experienced hand. The man who helped me at the front counter was very honest and direct. He said he had another binding project ahead of me for thirty bound documents, but he said when that was done, I'd be next in line. I asked how long did he think it would take and he said to come back in an hour, but that if it was completed before the hour was up he'd call me on my cell phone. Now that's a good deal. Of course I never received the good news call, but when I arrived back to the FedEx Office after my hour wait was up, my documents were bound and ready to be shipped. They looked professionally savvy. I put the documents into a medium size FedEx box, filled out the shipping form, paid for the shipping service and the binding service and with my task done, I was able to go back out into the world and enjoy my night. Thanks FedEx for making a tedious task easy and pain free for administrative professionals like me. I'm sure I'll be back soon and we can get to know eachother even more later. read more

You can upload your documents online, choose the style of collateral (poster, presentation, flyer, brochure?) and select finishing options such as glossy or matte and you can even order mounting and preview the documents. ALL online. Pick the store closest to you and you're good to go! 2. They give you the price and pick-up time (pay online for fast and easy pick-up) or if it's a custom order, they'll call you back minutes later with a price quote. 3. Arrive at the store and they'll show you the goods. With your blessing, they'll ring you up if you haven't already paid and it's a wrap. This store received a facelift a few weeks ago and it seems so much more spacious now... the employees seem happier, too! Yes, printing is more expensive here than using a commercial printer, but if you've only but a few posters to print? Kinko's is your guy. read more

Sometimes you go in and employees help you, other times they don't. Apparently as a customer of FedEx you are responsible for knowing how to use all of their printers, copiers and scanners, including loading paper and choosing which of the 10 printers your items will be sent to. But I digress... Today I went into FedEx to send out a package. They packed it for me, while I filled out the address label. I gave the girl my credit card which wouldn't process, she tried twice and each time the system crashed. I told her I'd go get cash. 20 minutes later I returned, and with the previous girl helping another customer I was left with the only other employee in the store who looked irritated, as if I had some nerve to come into FedEx to ship a package. (I've seen her name mentioned in a previous review) This time she took down my information as well as the recipient's, printed the information and asked me to sign off. After having to correct nearly the entire address (2 additional times) of the recipient, her growing more and more aggravated, rolling her eyes, etc., she asked me to sign a copy that was not corrected, allowing me to just assume that she had finally gotten it right on her computer - which, she didn't, because I saw the final entry shortly after. But it wouldn't matter, because after this 45 minute process of switching computers and utter incompetency, all while a line is forming, she informed me that their system wasn't processing shipments and I could either wait for her to call the tech dept. or get my money back. So I took the money and went right across the street to UPS. Thanks for the free packing and box! Listen, I work in customer service, I get that sometimes work can be frustrating and sometimes things happen that are out of your control, but the attitude of the employee and the lack of respect for my own time - having me leave to get cash because their system wasn't working, come back, stand there for another 25 minutes because you can't seem to get the address right I wrote down for you verbatim, and then not even take my package, all the while you looking at me like I'M inconveniencing YOU? If ever there has been a soul sucking week, it has been this one. Unfortunately, all of the soul sucking has been purely my fault but that is another story for another time*. I know 5 stars for a business is a huge stretch but this Kinkos deserves it. First, I have never had a problem at this Kinkos. I have had many projects printed here and the customer service has been fantastic. They printed my things in a very timely manner (within 15 minutes), was patient with my insane anal retentiveness, and stayed one on one until the job was finished. This time deserves special recognition. I printed off what I thought was the final proof of my project and yeah, it looked pretty awesome. (Very expensive though! Bring your own paper, it saves a lot of money so I learned $150 later) I got home and found through my own stupidity, that I set up my file wrong. After a huge tantrum, tears and a threat of walking in front of a bus (thank goodness the CTA is unreliable for timing) I fixed the file and went back to Kinkos to have it reprinted. Enter Neil. I think he read the utter defeat in my face as I walked in. He immediately took my file, printed off a proof and cut the book block to my specs. They did not have the paper I wanted in stock so he gave me a much better stock. He told me though it was printed double sided, I would still be charged for 38 single pages. I walked to my car in a very sad, Arrested Development Good Grief! episode walk with big crocky tears in my eyes thinking I was going to pay another $100 that I really did not have. (Also, another threat of walking in front of a bus). I walked back in and Neil said, "We didn't have the paper that you wanted and though I gave you a better stock I charged you for what you wanted because it was our fault it wasn't in the store." Long mopey story short? He saved me $60. And was patient. And was super nice and very speedy. So 4 stars to this Kinkos as I have never had a problem with them. One singular huge gold star goes out to Neil because his customer service was amazing. And he saved me from a nervous breakdown. I very highly recommend this branch of Kinkos. I walk up to the clerk and ask her if she can do it for me since I didn't have my card on me, I get an attitude and she says "I guess ,but we normally don't do that" then tells me its .89 a copy. Somehow one scan emailed to me and one copy of it comes out to being $3. Would have cost me less than $2 up the street. Will never come here again alot of attitude and not so cheap pricing. read more

I'm happy to say that the staff is very friendly, and very accommodating. I've been over there three times in the last week or so, and each time under time limit and stressed. I've had to print posters for a bridal shower, resumes for a friend, and a bunch of other stuff. I have other printing centers closer to my house, but really would rather stick with these guys. I used to live in this area and still have an art studio nearby. I avoid this FedEx Kinkos at all cost largely due to the incompetency of the employees. Instead of checking for a correct answer, I am given the "We don't carry that" when the week prior and every other FedEx office ( go to Clark and Wellington if you want great service) has the item. Went to this location to mail two packages. My phone died as I was pulling up the address and I realized I left my charging cord at work down the street. I asked the associate if anyone had a cord I could use so I could finish the shipping process and he tells me no one there owns an IPhone. Seriously? Everyone in the building owns an android? I used to love this FedEx. They were my primary FedEx for the last 7 years. I began using them for late night printing when they were open 24/7. It was a dream come true! They had a secure parking lot too, which had a direct door that I thought was so convenient. Wow, things have changed. Today one of their customer reps hung up on me because he claimed that my daughter needed an ID with an address that matched the package (which is a business address) to ship a package. I sent her with a debit so there wouldn't be any issue. I understand if you can't send the package because you say she needs an ID but don't hang up on me after being short tempered and extremely rude to me on the phone. This is after another visit where they said they had printing for me, and when I arrived two hours later, around 4pm, the store was closed. Wait, you told me to come get my printing, and then closed 4 hours before you were supposed to. No notice, and no signage on the door. I watched as endless people walked up to the electronic doors, and standing, waiting, trying to pry them open, or running into the doors because we all expected the store to be open. Sure, it's sad that you've had to shorted your hours, 24/7 want going to last forever, but at least make a note to customers when you close early. Isn't that the first thing you would do if you're closing early for kids reason, let customers know? Maybe they just don't care anymore about the customers or maybe they don't have the common knowledge to do very simple things that can impact a large group of people greatly.
