    Staples - 3.26.2026

    Staples

Staples has always been the go-to place for office supplies in Hobbs…read more The service has been better than I remember. That being said, I've noticed a lack of professionalism during a few visits... namely, inappropriate topic discussions at the front register and the newest stocking guy frequently cussing while talking to another employee. It's one thing to speak freely with your supervisor behind closed doors, but another to be so careless and vile within a customer's earshot. I've picked up blue prints and a few other print jobs for my boss here. No major issues other than having to wait an extra 10 minutes because they didn't notice his second request in their sytem. They were apologetic. The store is large and organized well. Large, spacious parking lot to match your shopping experience. On another (albeit rather silly) note, I'm glad they named it "Staples" and not something arbitrary like "Rulers" or "Erasers" or "Letter Openers." While rulers, erasers, and letter openers certainly are handy tools in the office, actual staples help keep important stuff together. So do "Paper Clips," but would have been way too long to say and shortening it to "Clips" could cause even more confusion. Keep your office and/or school life together. Go to Staples.

US Post Office - $14.60 for a book of Forever horse stamps. (8/19/2024)

    US Post Office

Yup, these other ratings are still really old in the world of Yelp. Lol…read more And I just have to tell it how it is so you can understand what you're dealing with if you have to go to the one and only Hobbs Post Office. Don't show up during the regular business hours lunch break times... it gets crowded. It's always crowded during any holiday. Or days preceding a big holiday. The line moves ridiculously slow more times than not! They often lock the door on the north end of the building due to "blowing wind" which is where I prefer to enter... However, the doors at the main entrance are just as difficult to open and slams the glass ajar & shut when said high wind is in session. The lines in the parking lot need to repainted, but even then folks would still park like drunk schmucks. The employees, while mostly friendly, tend to be somewhat unprofessional here. If they had a self-service kiosk for stamps, I'd probably never choose to deal with the front desk folks. On another note, the mailman that comes to my brother's house which has an office for his business that I work for does not handle our packages with care. Our cameras show him dropping them and tossing our clients' very expensive goods carelessly. Yep... I'm gonna keep complaining in person and on here because they recently raised prices on the post office boxes. Plus I have high suspicions this same office lost my birth certificate about 15 years ago! (At least that's what the US passport agency told me.)

I can call 30+ times a day and it rings for two solid minutes and then disconnects. I wish I knew how else to reach them or if I should just give up trying to call all together.

This UPS location is not a store…read more It's more of a package hub. So my regular UPS driver left a "sorry we missed you" note at my work shop which is also my brother's primary residence. When I went here to find out what the heck was going on, they seemed a bit unorganized. The two employees I spoke to were extremely helpful and friendly, but that only gets me so far when I am trying to help run a business. The supervisor remembered packages to our house/business address when he made deliveries. He called the driver that usually travels to that area. She seemed befuddled... The note left behind ended up being an honest mistake. It has some adhesive backing and I'm sure that's how it ended up on my porch, but it was still a waste of time. This the second time this sort of thing has happened. Quite honestly, it's frustrating because we have some very important clients who run emergency services operations, educational facilities, etc.. We don't like letting them down or postponing our work schedules when we can't find materials we have already been waiting patiently on - sometimes for months. TIPS This is the location where you might need to go if you miss a signed delivery. Otherwise, this is not a store where you can complete delivery transactions or purchase materials.

I had an opportunity to visit this location recently. This feedback is for the management at this…read morelocation and probably the manager of the manager of this location. Your employees really need some customer service training. I had the opportunity during a 35-minute session (more on why I had to spend 35 minutes in the store) to observe the interactions between the desk clerks and customers of all ages. If you have your phone ready, look young and are "techy ready" the staff can quickly help you because the only work they have to do is scan your phone, potentially print a receipt and out you go without even any eye contact or thank you very much. If, however, you have some questions on types of shipping service, costs, or heaven forbid you need something printed, heaven forbid!! The staff quickly turns short. Back to my 35-minute wait. If I need something printed at a UPS store, I always bring multiple sticks because the Xerox printers at UPS locations are very finicky. At this particular store plebeians are not allowed to use the self-service printers with-out employee assistance. Once approved staff inserted each USB key, the device informed us on a large LED panel, "There are no documents on this device". I was informed: "It has problems with PDFs", (Hmm, that is the universal format). Also, on this date I needed double-sided color prints. I was sure that this was Xerox's wheel house. The priestess solemnly took my 2 USB keys to the dark confines of the rear of the store. I wanted to remind her of the print parameters. Scandalously, I committed a UPS store verboten action. I took a step past the invisible line where customers must never cross. Quickly all clerk eyes swiveled toward me and the one closest to me exclaimed, "You can't be here !!" Lest a lightning bolt descend from the UPS laser shooting defense station in synchronous orbit, I jumped back to where we unclean customers must prostate while awaiting to be served! Crisis averted. Finally, I heard the printer slowly spin up and it started to spew my long-awaited treasure of hard physical print copy. Uh oh, it is in black white. No!! It is single sided!! No!! This cannot be. The priestess emerged from the holy of holies, apologized, and vowed to redouble her efforts. A few minutes later the printer rumbled back into life and slowly 2 beautiful color double sided pages presented themselves. The printer stopped. Wait. Where is the rest of my 35-page document. The cleric emerged, observed, and stated never worry Obi Wan, that was just a test run. Then several more minutes passed. A few more. The priestess emerged and formally declared that the printer was "down". It must be reset and the deacon of print must be consulted on how to reset it. (Presumably this was the local store manager). The deacon declared that it must first be powered off for 2 minutes. (I think that is so that bad electricity can drain out of the machine.) After the prescribed 2 minutes a reset was attempted. Failure. Let it rest 5 more minutes the deacon declared. At this point, I was asking myself. My 86-year-old dad does not really need a hard copy. I think I could teach him the basics of iPad navigation, swipe motions, and the PDF format lickety-split. It can't be that hard, can it? Finally, my prescribed document emerged. As I proceeded to the altar of payment, I noticed that the black footers on my pages were really gray. I suggested to the deacon that perhaps she should check the black toner on the printing behemoth. She promptly denounced me with the incontrovertible and unassailable statement, "The computer has not told me it needs toner." I meekly showed her my light grey footers, she observed, and denounced her eye sight. Harrumph. Then I was presented with the invoice for all the fine service, education, spiritual uplifting that I acquired at this store. $35. A dollar minute. What a bargain.
