Horrible customer service. Woman who answered the phone wasn't sure if they had the item I was looking for but didn't offer to check. I had to ask her if she would find out and she came to the phone saying she didn't see them on the shelf, so I asked if she would ask someone in her store if they carried them or not or had them online. Her tone was rude, unhelpful and she acted put out to answer the phone or respond to a question. This Feeders used to have excellent customer service; the decline is so disappointing. read more

Made a grooming appt for our two doodles. Gave very specific instructions on cut, length, clean and pluck ears, etc. Because the groomer whose name is Jenny doesn't speak English well. When my husband picked up our babies, they gave him the two very excited puppies and told him to go to the front to pay. Which is ridiculous when you have dogs that just got groomed. Needless to say, he was unable to check the grooming before leaving the store. When they got home I noticed that the length was not what I requested, nor did she clean and pluck the ears. So I texted Jenny right away and asked her to trim her again and pluck her ears. We made an appointment for a few days later. She cancelled that appt, so we rescheduled for the next day. The morning of the rescheduled appt, she reached out and said she would not pluck the ears because it hurts the dog and that we should have told her before we left the store that there were issues. Pretty much refusing to live up to the grooming we had asked and paid her to do. I then told her we wouldn't be letting her groom the babies again because she doesn't know what she's doing. These babies are 10 and 6 years old and I've never had a groomer refuse to do as we asked. I called Jenny's boss, Jamie on several occasions, only getting her voicemail and leaving a message. Absolutely no calls back after three weeks. Needless to say, we had to take our one double coated Poodle to another groomer. They did an excellent job and were able to pluck her ears as we asked. Before writing this review, I tried to get the situation remedied. But it's obvious that Feeders doesn't care about their client base. It's a shame too, because we had used them a lot for food and supplies. That ends today. Do not waste your money on this place. They do not stand behind their services nor will they even talk to you about it. read more

I didn't realize that Feeders Supply moved from its original location in the strip mall to a new free standing building down Dixie Hwy. The building is nice but there is still some spaces that they are finishing. There are fun signs and mural like decor on the walls. read more

I was getting my baby bird groomed. She needed her wings trimmed as well as her claws cut back. We saw Angela. Since Yoda is so little she took her time. This young lady was super gentle. I was impressed with her knowledge of all animals. But especially with little birds. Angela was exceptionally professional and sweet. All of the employees at this store were all very helpful and uber friendly !! read more

A local pet food and supplies chain. There are several locations around Louisville. Need a leash? Dog food? Treats? Collars? Toys? Beds? Crates? Etc. Etc. Etc. Feeders Supply is your place. As well, most (all?) locations will have an area where you can give your dog a bath. They supply the towels, shampoo, water, tub, and will give you aprons if your dog won't hold still. They also have blow drying, if your dog will allow you to do that. It isn't free. It's about $10 for a visit. But it makes washing a dog a lot easier than doing it at the house. Lastly, they have a relationship with the Kentucky Humane Society, so you can adopt pets. The KY Humane Society keeps their website updated pretty well. So you can look and see where the animals are being held. In our case, we went on the website and found a dog that we liked. He was located at the Feeders Supply on Dixie Highway, which is great as that's just up the road from my house. Sure enough, I get to Feeders Supply and he is there. Ended up taking him home. I really like Feeders Supply for what they are and the service they provide. Unless I had to, or unless prices were just astronomically cheaper somewhere else, I'll probably always take my business to Feeders Supply. Great company. And the Dixie Highway location is as good as any. read more

I come here to get certain food, treats, and other things for my feline friend that I can't find at other stores and that's about it. It is pricey and if you need help with something, good luck trying to find someone. They do however have a rewards program you can be apart of if your a repeat shopper. I won't lie, I wasn't in a good mood when I came to the store and I feel like my experience pissed me off even more. My dog is very important to my family and we want him to be safe. I was going to take him on a 2 hour drive and he likes to move like crazy when he is in the car. My family told me to get him a harness that works as a seatbelt. Apparently it's a real thing. When I got there I asked not one person, not two people, but THREE people where it was located. It seems like when I asked them a question they either didn't pay attention to my question or would send me in a random direction so I would get away from them. When we did not plan accordingly and run out of dog and cat food, we come here. I love that we have a feeders so close to the house. They also have a large selection of toys and treats. I'm mostly thankful they sell science diet and I don't have to buy from the vets office across town. They also have adoptions for the humane society too on the weekends. This is a fun place for a mini field trip for the kiddos too! It's fun to see all the different types of animals they have. Service is good and they usually have items in stock. Most things are more expensive than a department or discount store, but you are buying from a locally owned business. read more

Feeders Supply - Had 2 pom's. - Pet Stores Near Me - Louisville, Kentucky

Today I went in to the Feeders Supply store on Dixie and I thought it smelled terrible. I know that there is a smell that is supposed to be "the petshop smell" I went in to buy two specific kinds of fish... some bottom feeding cory catfish and a plecostomus. I went to the pet section where the person who was assigned to that area was more interested in chatting about movies than waiting on customers. As I walked around I noticed some very expensive prices on basic fish that were not much bigger than a month old hatchling. In fact my medium sized fish would call their offerings food. I did buy one albino plecostomus for $5.99 begrudgingly because I need some scavangers / algae eaters in my tank. This pleco was only one and a half inch long and very small. For that price the average rate is $2.99 as the mortality rate on the small ones is about 50%. I looked at some basic green cory cats that most everywhere sells for $2.99 and they wanted $5.99 for them. They were not much bigger than a pencil eraser. I do know a thing or two about pets as that's how I put myself through college was working for a veterinarian / pet shop. I told the guy it would do their fish person a world of good to price Sandys (a more upscale aquarium centered shop) and his response is our fish is better quality and we don't compete where else can you go on Dixie to buy fish. Well... I'll drive to get better quality at half the price... and Sandys will give you a discount if you buy a small school of schooling fish. They don't realize that the -ONLY- reason feeders supply has any longevity is that they got started out in our "common" end of town. I also figured out why their store stinks... as I looked around I found where a dog did the uno, dos... dropoff in the back corner by the fish tanks. IT HAD BEEN THERE A WHILE AS IT WAS NEARLY PETRIFIED. The pictures of the nice organized clean store you see on the yelp site isn't what I experienced there. Many of the ceiling tiles were stained from roof leaks... the store has some age and it needs to be spruced up. I used to love this place in the past years, but now... I'm sorry.... if you just want basic dog / cat food they stock it... but if you want fish or something more exotic you may find it lacking. Not sure if I came on a bad day but the staff I was dealing with were very rude. It started when my dog made an accident on the floor and I tried the best I could to find paper towels but there weren't any stocked as I roamed the whole store relentlessly looking for them and needless to say an older woman who clearly looked like she didn't enjoy her job commented in a standoffish way after taking a look at my dog's piss; "Im not cleaning it" well first off I didn't ask you to and after admitting it was my dog's fault she handed me a few paper towels which weren't enough btw and went on her way nowhere to be found again. Also whenever I asked them where something was, they just pointed and tried to avoid talking like what is the deal with that? read more

We love shopping here. Also due to tone of the lovely ladies who works here we had the great pleasure to rescue a few kittens, we named them Pandora and Dragon. Sad to say we did lose Dragon but her big sister Pan is a huge fighter, she's doing great. read more
