My lord! Did they use tar paper with gold weave, or shingles made with Kevlar?? We had another estimate completed the following day; the price was less than the first, but the gentleman wanted to do a complete "Dog and Pony Show" presentation afterwards. Sorry, but I had to cut the first guy off from his song and dance saga early, and I didn't want another high-pressure sales attempt-- he wasn't too pleased, but he did email me the paperwork the following morning. I was totally prepared for yet a third turgid screed titled, "Our Roof Is Better Than Their Roof!" from anyone coming down the pike, but I'm happy to say that I didn't have that issue with C. L. Wright Roofing! Let me first say I'm not one to write reviews on every little thing, and I'm not trying to blow a ray of sunshine up anyone's pant leg with this one- they did a darn fine job, and they deserve a darn good review! Here is the service breakdown: * The gentleman arrived on time and was polite, with a no-nonsense attitude- being a veteran, I like that! * Within about thirty-five to forty minutes, he had a written estimate in my hand. It had a everything covered: the shingles, paper, the water damaged soffit and hosed gutter that need to be replaced, and a damaged 4' x 8' plywood board that was bad; (we were aware of these before hand) he also noted that the skylight that provided some daytime light to the attic was broken and leaking! Noted on the estimate was that other plywood pieces could be water damaged, and we'd be advised if anymore needed replacing and gave the price of each piece upfront. I did go to the main office and picked out a shingle color; Jo Anne was very helpful, and I was on my way in no time. * The crew arrived on time on the date stated a few weeks later; they were polite, and cleaned up the small stuff as they went. No cigarette butts or personal trash was ever noted, either. * The project was completed on the second day, and the supervisor arrived later that evening. He did a sweep of the property, picking up any remaining rouge construction trash or wrapping, then used a magnetic roller to pick up any nails or metal debris. Afterwards, my wife and I did a walk around the property with him making sure all was good to go-- and it was! The final cost: $6,700.00 That's a far call from the other companies! I'll get contractors that don't return calls, miss appointments, showed up whenever they feel like it, and those who don't do the work according to standard or contract. Unfortunately, I've experienced the same here with AEC. Since I replaced my roof in July 2016 (with no leak), I've gotten leaks 5x. Scott the owner is very knowledgeable in regard to the product and roof system, so he sells really well. Unfortunately, that pretty much ends there. It has been a nightmare ever since they started the work. I would have been happier not changing my roof at all. Overall experience Scott is very responsive and knowledgeable, thus selling really well. Once the contract is signed everything went downhill. There is no quality assurance even after I've raised concerns prior to completion. When they finally fixed the leak, I had to remind them to repaint the damage. I suspected the 2 painters that re-paint my room were highschooler or college students from craigslist. I had to remind the to do multiple coats. Overall, I don't recommend them for any work at all even though they do come back to fix all the damage 5x, but it's traumatizing and not worth any savings. Service The estimate was quick and easy. Scott was very knowledgeable about the product and roofing system. The contract was written up fast. Materials were dropped on my property before my prior knowledge. I was not informed when it will start. Scott didn't show up to check on the work at all except at the end to collect the payment. This is even after I told him that his non-English speaking contractor was stapling at a random pattern. (Lol... I watched a lot of roofing videos prior) The contractor seems nice and friendly, but not skilled. Even on a rain forecast day, they proceed to remove all the previous roofing and left without providing any covering. I had to call them back to put tarps on the roof. When leaks appear in various locations one after another, I kept getting excuses from Scott even though I reminded him over and over that there were absolutely no leaks prior to his work. This reminds me, do not ever change your roof to be proactive. Price I got 4 quotes altogether, Scott was the best quote for 7 years warranty. There was another quote slightly more for a lifetime warranty. I highly recommend skipping this company. Whichever you go with, make sure it comes with some warranty even though most leaks will appear within the year.
