Many don't return calls. Some do but then don't follow up. Most can't make the time to fit you in for an appointment and even if they do, they may not show up. I've learned this the hard way. Despite some not great experiences, I've had some pretty good ones, too. I knew Jeff (guy behind the company) was busy as there aren't a lot of people who do what he does (slate roof repair), but even so, his voicemail said to email him. I did. He emailed me back right away (as in a few hours). He explained he was very busy but fit in time to pay my house a visit. He explained clearly what his fees are, how long he thought my issue would take him to fix, and that he wouldn't be free for a few weeks but that he could fit in time after if I was ok with that. I was. He emailed to let me know when he would be there. He asked me questions which I answered. He showed up. He did the work. He even started accepting credit cards on my request (wowza - I've requested it a few times this summer but he's the only person who actually did it). He followed up with me after the repairs to let me know what he had done, and to inform me that there were a few other issues at the top of the house that I should look into (I already knew about the issues, but it was good to hear he thought they were issues, too). It's impressive when someone who is in an industry that's not known for good communication or follow through does just that and then some. I highly recommend hiring Jeff based on my experience. There is no way for me to know with 100% certainty if my roof is ship shape now, but my gut tells me he did a great job. And communication and follow through is super important to me. He came highly recommended from my general contractor. I will definitely call him again if I need further work done on my slate roof.

Not sure if the issue is lack of experience, arrogance, exerting control or a combination of all. Their never ending and last minute demands, request and changes of both up until the day before a scheduled closing on a basic family home in a great neighborhood that appraises above purchase price that cost one young family the home should give any prospective customer second thoughts.

We were filthy from working outside. One call to Spaffords, our original well maintenence people, and I'm not exaggerating when I tell you that they were in my driveway in 5 minutes. The problem was fixed and replaced in an hour by the nicest men you can imagine. I am so grateful it wasn't worse than it was, and I wasn't inconvenienced more than I had been. My Mom always loved Spaffords and advised me to always call them, and I always will. I am always taken care of with the utmost respect, and with a sense of humor I enjoy.
