Just finished up with my appointment. My hair came out nothing like I wanted or told them I wanted. I've alway had really light blond hair colored of coarse and sense the virus and lock down I haven't had it done. Found this company thought I would use a local salon. I told them I needed my roots and hair back to blond and maybe a few dark streaks in it. What I got was all my hair three shade darker. My roots are now bark dark brown and the blonde part is like a dirty blonde. The girl that did it wasn't trained to really do color because they all told her how what steps to take and again nothing like I wanted at all period. So with that said be careful of the salon yo choose. Also not a very professional atmosphere at all. Sure it will do and it is better than what it was but not at all what I asked for. I have been a client of Tammy Council Lawrence since 1989. She does an amazing job with cut and color for my husband and I tho he has been her client since she graduated from Cosmo school a few years earlier. She has always treated us like VIPs! Felger & Friends II is located in a cute little German/Victorian style house. The stylists stations are antique vanities. I always enjoy the atmosphere and company tho sometimes the music can be annoying depending on who has control of the station on that day. Tammy always make sure our blonde locks are a natural color and our hair stays healthy with recommendations for new products. They use mostly Redken. Tammy knows how emotionally attached I am to my hair so she is careful not to take too much off the ends or I will cry. lol. I have had a couple of traumatic experience in the past before I found Tammy so to have her in my life is such a blessing. And since she has been in the business for many years, you must book your appointments way in advance which we always do while we pay our bill. We live in San Antonio now but we still take the 30m drive... so as long as she will let us come back, we'll be seeing her every 8 weeks for our date night!!! read more

I always went to the cheap haircut places in various strip malls, but got fed up with the random bad hair cut, a very good friend recommended Kisha at Felgers. I was a bit leary of a salon type place but willing to try anything, thank God I did. Kisha does a great job. I have been getting my hair cut by her for 3+ years. She is very consistent. Never gives a bad hair cut because of a bad day. Now she also cuts my oldest sons hair and he loves it. He almost falls asleep. She's very friendly. I would recommend her. It also doesn't hurt that most of the ladies here are quite attractive. read more

Chantel gave my 4 year old a sweet back to school trim today and did a wonderful job! My girl was super relaxed and comfy the whole time (her last haircut 18 months ago ended in screams). The cut is great and the location is adorable! Loved the at home feel and will plan our visits to NB the next time lil one needs a trim (this is our home away from home). read more

I have 2 little boys and they have been going there since my oldest boy's first haircut. Monique is very patient and good with the children, who most of the times do not want their hair cut. There is another lady who is also very good with kids. I love this place and will continue to return because of the staff. Thie staff do not change often; there is no revolving door. This is a late review but I got my hair done (dyed and trimmed) in October. I am naturally blonde but wanted strawberry blonde color put in. I brought 2 pictures of what I was wanting to make sure she got a good idea. I arrived and showed her the pics and she went and asked at least 2 people how she should put the color in (I should have known then) but figured she was just making sure..anyways she mixes the color and puts it in, in almost silence, my first time here and there is basically no conversation happening..at all. It's a little awkward but I figured she may be tired or had a rough day. Once she trims and dries my hair I can already tell it's not what I wanted. It's really dark and not at all like the photos. After she takes me to check out she leaves (no "hope to see you back" or anything like that) so then I pay almost $150!!!! For this hair color that I didn't want. Long story short I won't be back and had to find someone to reverse the color a couple weeks later. Maybe it was an off day or I had the wrong stylist but I won't be going back. Joy does my hair (cut & color) at Felger's and I've never had one complaint. The only thing I would recommend to them would be giving scalp massages during shampoos. It can be kind of rough and hair pulling. read more

I went here after having a bad experience from another salon in town. I was told this place was amazing and to ask for " Evie". Well whoever told me this was right. First I got my hair colored. The other salon I went to took up to two hours to color my hair. Evie knocked it out in 1 and covered ALL my grey ( which haven't happened in the past). Then she fixed the last cut I had making my hair look SO much better than it had before. She was so efficient and obviously had a gift for hair. My total for cut and color was $120 which isn't crazy compared to what I have paid around town. The salon is in a really cute old house in New Braunfels and it is very clean. I went to this place to get silver highlights in my hair and walked out a platinum blonde. I was very unhappy and contacted the person who did my hair. She said we can fix it but she never got back in touch with me to schedule an appointment. So, I went directly to the manager of the salon. I went in so they could see my hair. The manger said yes there is a lot if blonde but we can do 2 things. We can give you a shampoo and conditioner to bring out the silver and see how that works. Do this for a week and call me and if you aren't happy with the results we can put more toner in your hair. I agreed and they gave me the shampoo and conditioner. I didn't have to pay for it at least that's what I thought. The shampoo brought the silver out alittle but I still was very blonde. So, i called them to let them know the results and that I was still not happy. I get a call back saying that they apologize for the inconvenience and that i have a $37.00 refund waiting for me. You know we put our trust in people who are hairdressers and to come out of there business with something you did not ask for is very upsetting. Having silver highlights for not mean I want to be blonde! I even showed her pictures of what I wanted!If the person couldn't do it that's all she had to say! So, me thinking how they cared and giving me products that they wanted to make it right! Boy, I was wrong! Yes they gave me a refund but they took the money out for the shampoo and conditioner! What kind of nonsense is this!! I support local businesses but when they do something like this it just ruins it all for other business. I will never go there again or recommend anyone! They had they opportunity to make it right and this is what they do!! The money is not the issue it's about making it right!! read more

I had a traumatic experience here. I came in a few weeks ago originally wanting a balayage and cut. I drove an hour to New Braunfels, because I had heard amazing reviews about this place and I was very excited. My stylist wasn't comfortable doing balayage apparently so I just asked her to do some highlights and add some color since I came all this way. I showed her pictures of the color I wanted and stressed how I did not want it to be too blonde because I am a brunette. The results were horrifying. As you can see, I have 3 different colors of streaks in my hair and the "blonde" is white..I was very upset. The scariest part was that my stylist thought it turned out so good. I told her that it was way to blonde and I wanted a toner. She told me to come back in 45 minutes to do the toner because she had another client waiting. When I came back, I told her I wasn't happy with the hair color and how streaky it looks. When she put in the toner everyone was telling me how much better it looked and I was so relieved...but when I saw the results, it was better but still so horrifying. At this point, I had been at the salon for 5 hours, was exhausted, frustrated and the salon was closing. I paid almost $200 and left very upset. The next day I had to drive all the way to Houston for my stylist to fix it. At this point, I wanted my hair completely dyed to my original color. My stylist in Houston put toner in my hair, but the stylist at Felgers bleached my hair so much that not even toner could completely hide the streaks. They pop up even more every time I wash my hair and they look absolutely awful. I have spent almost $400 at this point on my hair and trying to get it fixed, and I have to get it toned like every week because the streaks just keep popping back up. So, I just have to wait until the streaks grow out. I called Felgers to explain my situation and express my frustration, the lady said not a problem and that I could get refunded and that she's going to tell the manager and he will call me back, but I never got a call back. I also emailed, and no response. In all, I am really upset about my hair and all the money and time I have spent. I wish I would have never come here in the first place! read more
