I was born 81 years ago with a crossed left eye. My mom said the doctor told her it was because of the silver nitrate put in my eyes. Too much had been added. Silver Nitrate was a standard procedure in 1938. I do not know the reason for using it. When in the first grade, my eye doctor, an ophthalmologist, put a patch over my right eye, hoping my left eye would correct itself. It didn't. I had to repeat the first grade because I could not see well enough to do my lessons. Next, strong left-eye glasses were prescribed. I've worn them ever since. My left eye continued to cross, often making me see double or blurring my vision. If I closed my left eye, I could see clearly. My right eye, today, has 20/20 vision with glasses on. Several months ago, Felisa Holmberg had recently learned a technique to help such eye conditions. I told her that I had begun closing my left eye sometimes while driving in the rain. This stopped the blur, which seemed to be getting worse. She agreed to use this new technique on me. I was amazed as I later looked around. The blur seemed to be gone! Later, when driving home, I closed and opened the left eye to see any changes. Amazingly, I no longer had to close the left eye to see better at a distance. I'd especially had the blur problem when driving in the rain. But now the weather was better. To be sure of the eye change, I waited until the rains came back. I am amazed that the blurriness is GONE! I have always liked to drive but it had become a chore until Felisa's work made the change By the way, the left eye has the beginning of macular degeneration. At 13 years old, I was thrown from my horse as several of us were racing up a short hill onto the upper pasture. I landed on the right side of my head resulting in a severe concusion. That was the begining of many years of not being able to stand up straight. In my 30's, I was experiencing neck, shoulder and lower back pain. I needed regular visits of chiropractic treatment along with TMJ-brace movement to correct my bite. As a grade school teacher, I spent much of my day leaning over students desks and tables. I used asprin, Motrin, Aleeve, Advil etc. In my early 60's, I was caregiver in our home to my husband in his last months battling ALS. Because of my love for hiking, walking, gardening, biking etc, I began searching for a treatment to heal my muscles, neck and lower back pain and retore my balance. I chose to try rolfing: deep muscle massage and more. Felisa was able to restore my muscles and balance. I can stand up straight, feeling centered instead of off to one side. She moved facia tissue back into place at the base of my neck. Since 1953 when 9 years old, I spent months lying in bed with a 5lb weight on my leg in Children's Orthopedic Hospital. After learning to walk again, there were years (70 now) of various types of therapy to follow. Being born with scoliosis and 3 car accidents (one while 7-8 months pregnant) didn't help. Needless to say this 79 year old back was crying for help...and my, oh my, did it find it! I found you, Felisa. I suffered with plantar faciatis for over a year. I tried everything the doctors suggested--anti-inflammatories, stretching, rolling a golf ball under my foot, etc. plus custom made inserts and quality shoes with good support. Nothing helped. I decided to try rolfing and believe it or not, it took only one visit with Felisa to end the pain. I have had no pain since and it has been a couple of years. If you are in pain you should make an appointment with Felisa. She has worked on my neck, lower back and abdominal area and relieved the pain and helped the blood flow more freely.
