We ended up ordering a couple of Tito's cocktails and never in my life have I paid 12.00/drink for a Tito's vodka cocktail (I think the bartender knew we were not locals and price gouged us). Found some patio seating and kinda smoky and chilly out so we finished our drink and hightailed it outta there. Won't be coming back here during our stay. read more

After the bar next door (Oscar's) drove us away with one-star attitude from the bartender, I figure Felix's deserves a positive review. A nice chill transaction with the bartender, a comfortable atmosphere at 7:45 on a Wednesday evening -- just what we needed for a conversation over drinks. We didn't realize there was a back patio until we were on our way out, but it looked like a great place to enjoy the spring weather, so I will look forward to that next time! read more

Love Felix's. Really fun bar with an easy going crowed. Feels more manageable than some of the other bars in Atlanta and feels very safe. Last night however my friends and I stopped in on a whim and many of my friends our regulars. While there one of the bartenders attempted to swindle me into believing that I had only tipped $2.50 on my drink when I knew I had tipped $25 and the transaction processed anyways. When I brought this up to the bartender, he assumed that I, under a tiny bit of influence, would not catch the mistake and made multiple attempts to shoo me away. I asked for a receipt and he printed a bar receipt that only showed the items ordered without pricing and could not show me a receipt with the tip/anything. I'm usually not at all this person, but $25 is a pretty big difference. I persisted to get a receipt and eventually another gentleman came over and showed me that I had in fact paid $41 for one drink. Finally I was given a receipt and allowed to make the change to the correct tip and through all of this I tipped my waiter (Bc that's what you do), but all in all this was a really really bad experience to have in a place that should be a safe space. Even the MGR that came to help sort things out rolled their eyes. I don't do things like this typically or stir the pot but this was kinda shady and taking advantage of clientele while under the influence and it didn't sit right with me. Beware of the gentleman with the short hair on top kinda spiked up (I think) possibly pink. Very nice guy, but definitely was looking to keep that tip knowing it was an error. read more

This establishment has great music! You can hear it from the outside. A great place to dance. However the security outside was extremely rude. I didn't go in because I security off to the side smoking a blunt yelling at would be clients who appeared to be out of town on Halloween night and cursing them out for asking if they could enter. The security guard became aggressive and whenever everyone became disturbed the security guard to everyone to stop making faces. I was disgusted especially for the newly married couple that was standing there. I don't feel comfortable going back if that security guard is working. read more

The short and surly dark haired bartender just closes your tab when he feels like it and adds a 25% tip. Doesn't check to ask you if you want to close it. Just closes it. No warning. This place used to be a safe, fun, local hangout, but things have definitely changed. No one knows my name anymore, and if they did, they'd realize how much money I spent I've the past decade and a half supporting this hole in the wall. For decades, the owner of Felix's not only welcomed the masses, but provided a Cheer's-esque experience where if not all, a few would know your name, your drink, and your song preference. Tonight, someone spilled their drink on me. I offered to pay for their replacement drink, even though it was clearly not my fault. The said party became belligerent, yelled at management to me, and then somehow involved me with a tit for tat with the bartender about who was held responsible for the drink spillage, when I was clearly trying to pay for the situation and correct it, even though the problem was not my own. No good deed goes unpunished, as they say, therefore the bartender decided to make it worse, and belittle me as if I had done something wrong. I spoke to the manager on duty, who I personally know, and he said he would deescalate the situation. The said employee just wanted to talk shit and continue badmouthing me so I left the bar and will not return. The aesthetic upgrade looks nice but all thumbs down on new service and bartenders. I hate to do this but no matter what community you serve if you allow smoking it dictates me giving your bar a 1-2 star rating. Some friends and I went here last weekend to support a cause and as soon as we walked in we were hit with a wall of smoke...Unfortunately it was so bad that we ended up having to leave early before grabbing a drink. This bar could be so great if they would abide by GA LAW and enforce the smoking ban but they don't! Unfortunately we won't be able to frequent them while they stand by this policy! I wish I could speak to more aspects of the bar but we couldn't really get past the smoke so we didn't have a chance to have a drink or converse with the bar tender etc. Good Luck if you go there you will be less than pleased with what you smell like when you leave! read more

Stopped in with a few friends on a Saturday afternoon. As such, the crowd was small but very friendly. The bartender was great - attentive, chatty, and had a heavy pour. This is a smaller place than most of the others I've been to around Atlanta, but that intimate feel really made it so everybody was a part of the fun. Overall a good bar. While it definitely leans more to the tragic side than to the upscale one, this little bar had more than a treat in store for me upon my recent visit. The drinks were okay, but the real entertainment came from the karaoke guys; they are AMAZING. Listen to me, these guys aren't "they can sing karaoke" good, they are "holy shit, they can really sing" good. I had such a great time listening to them, that it didn't matter that I had a to wait a bit to sing myself. That being said, they have a great selection of songs, and everyone in the bar was really getting into the groove of what everyone was singing; it was a fun environment. Now on to the minuses: well, it's the south, so they allow smoking. Since the bar is so small, it quickly becomes almost overwhelming, so more than a few hours and I have to leave before my lungs jump out of my chest and head for the door. While I loved the karaoke guys, they had the music up about 5 decibels away from permanent hearing damage, so I could have stood for it to be a bit quieter; keep in mind, I don't mind it loud, but this was like a jack hammer on my ear drums. Regardless of the bad, I really had a great time here with my friends, and a special treat the night we went was the clearly "drunk off of her ass" lady who kept hitting on anything with a pulse. Seriously lady, you couldn't be barking up any more of the wrong tree. It's a gay bar! The best, was that people kept giving her drinks! Well, it may have been quite the scene, but at least it gave us something fun to watch; after all, I cannot turn away from a train wreck... no matter how tragic the scene may be! read more

I have been here for karaoke Thursdays a few times and overall like it. The KJs are good and some of the people who sing are really good and entertaining. The bartenders know how to pour a drink and overall I am a fan. The only downside for me is that it's small and people can smoke in there so sometimes, it gets to be a bit much. read more

Great! Completed the trifecta of bar hopping, starting at Burkhart's, then Oscar's and finally Felix's. Each has there own personality and I loved all three and glad I came here last night (Saturday). It is hopping and we had a drunk girl here this night and she acted fearful of singing but really was great! That is the hit and miss of karaoke, ie some singers good, most others not so. Actually didn't have a drink, just listend to karaoke singers and was entertained. Fun, friendly crowd and it was crowded. Free parking (get there early!) and no cover charge. Smoking is unfortunately allowed in Atlanta bars so I understand why doors stay open now even when cold outside. All good since tonight smoke wasn't a problem for me. read more

I'm sorry people, but I've got to inject some sanity into all of these kumbaya reviews. Now I've come to understand that southern people are sweet, cordial, and very "read between the lines" types of people, but that doesn't work well on Yelp. Yelp is really about getting the cold hard truth in the bright light of day. Yes, the staff is exceptionally sweet and friendly, yes the music was great and I wish I would've got to experience more of the character of this bar, but I'm sorry- being able to breath is sort of a priority to those of us that well, WANT to live. Come on people! Seriously, get with the f'n program already! Smoking in enclosed environments is SO unhealthy, so ghetto, and so last millennium! Yes, smokers have the right to slowly kill themselves with carcinogenic cancer sticks that don't even get them high, but what about MY right to NOT breathe toxic second hand smoke and lead an otherwise healthy, happy life by existing in my natural state of non-smokerness? I walked into this smoke-filled chamber of death for a quick drink (not knowing it was a full on smoking lounge) and had great service by the sexy bartender (Quinton, you're so f'n fine and sweet dude!). Totally a place I could've rocked out and had a good time, but everywhere I looked people were smoking cigarettes! *Even one of the guys behind the bar* was walking around with a cig in his mouth! Ew! Sorry, smoking while on your shift behind the bar is so highly unprofessional-not to mention gross! If you take any pride in being in the service industry and providing a good experience for your customers... well, you shouldn't even need this reminder! Get a clue! I decided I'd take the loss on my drink and leave because I couldn't take anymore of the smoke filled room and didn't want to take additional time off my life by hanging out with future lung cancer patients in the chamber of death. I hope these people are signed up for Obamacare because hanging out in places like this, they'll definitely need some coverage for their cancer treatments! I couldn't get served. I walked in, had a seat and the bartender said "I'll be right with you hun." I was content in waiting...and waiting. He did not prioritize my business. Instead he talked with other patrons and made his way through a set of double doors and just completely forgot about me. It didn't feel warm or welcoming which was really disappointing because I came for the karaoke. I politely took me, my hips and my money right across the parking lot to Burkhart's (which is where I would've been in the 1st place if they had karaoke on Thursday too) who treats all members of the LGBT community with respect regardless of gender. I'm not sure if I'll give Felix's another chance... I want to support our businesses but I vote with my feet. read more

I've been to Felix's a few times and almost always have a great time when I go. The bartenders are friendly, the drinks are strong, and the karaoke is fun. As I get older, I tend to enjoy bars that don't have a whole lot going on at once, and Felix' s is definitely that. read more

But I have to say after hanging out there this past weekend for a friend's birthday celebration I am now a fan of Felix's. The place is small, but the drinks are strong and the staff is friendly.
