I'm in at Friends Neighborhood Bar and I'm parked in a handicapped spot and an employee comes up to my truck and says "hi can you move to that spot I want my employees to be closer to the building". I responded "I'm handicapped with handicapped tags on my truck and I'm in a handicapped spot". He said "O you are", then walks to the back of my truck to check. I said "see" then he says "you don't have to yell". He comes back up to the truck and says "youre ok" I said "I know I'm ok I'm not doing anything wring. I said "my friend just introduced us while in this establishment and I've been coming here for a few yrs and I park in this spot. He realized I was recording it and said "are you recording this" I said "yes I am" I then attempted to talk to the manager she was so unprofessional and yelled "he just wanted you to move so our employe can get in" and walked away from me" I said "you were there" I said "I'll let the police inform you that you can't request that I move. I said "the employee is illegally parked" when they realized the cops were coming they had the illegally parked came out and corrected his parking

Ask the Community - Friends On Ponce

Is there a hotel within walking distance or close by?

Yes. Several along Peachtree, Forth hotel and hotel Clermont to name a few.

Is there parking? If not, where is the closest parking lot?

There is a parking lot in back it's very small probably about 6 cars but right next to it is a lot next door that's open to all the businesses so it's fairly crowded. If you go through the lot across the street on maiden there is a paid lot.

    Is it 18+?

It's on Edgewood so you know you have to worry about figuring out parking on your own and most likely it's going to be paid parking. Now they do have street parking so keep that in mind but that's always the first to go so just keep that in mind as well. It seems that the food is solid so I didn't even try any food because I'd already eaten. Maybe I get to give another go on a good night and try the food to give it an accurate assessment but as of right now it was just a typical bar situation. You'll go ahead and head to the door and get searched by security and then you'll sit down somewhere and they'll eventually take care of you. I wasn't wowed by anything and it wasn't earth-shattering as far as service goes but it was a good experience. That's exactly what I expected lol. Nothing wrong with that though don't get me wrong, but it just was what it was.

The fries were amazing and I should've gotten the aolie initially, but didn't get it until I saw another table with an order. It was delicious. The service was very good. I came with a friend around 7pm on a Saturday and the place wasn't too crowded. We were seated immediately. They have both inside and outdoor patio tables. The vibe was chill with music playing at a decent volume, but over the next hour the place got very crowded and the music got louder. By 9pm, the place was quite packed and we were politely asked to close out to give our table to others waiting in line. I was very surprised by the cocktails - in a good way. I was pretty hesitant looking at the cocktail menu because most of the drinks had at least one ingredient that I don't like. However, the drinks were fantastic. I got the Hot in the Shade and my friend got the Fast Idol, which were both delicious. I don't even like gin and yet my drink, which has both gin and vodka, were outstanding. I will definitely be back! It's a great spot for a chill hangout cocktail bar but definitely get there before 7:30 if you want a table.

I didn't realize that the two were connected! FYI, if you sit downstairs, you'll be seated next to where the live music performers will be playing, so it will be louder there. As for the drinks, I tried the Zombie. I loved it so much, I ordered a second one instead of trying a different one! It tasted sweet and slightly tropical with the rum and spiced liqueur. It also had some absinthe, which I was worried about when I first ordered it since I hate the taste of it (not a big fan of black licorice flavors), but I didn't taste it at all! The wings were all well seasoned, and even the dry rub wings didn't taste dry. It tasted tender and juicy and I've never experienced that before with dry rub wings. We ordered the lemon pepper buffalo wings, buffalo wings, and Korean bbq buffalo wings and a side of fries. Our favorite was the buffalo wings. It had the right balance of juiciness and flavor. I wouldn't recommend the Korean bbq wings since it didn't have enough tangyness to it and didn't stand out. The French fries are a must order. The fries were so crunchy, and they were still crunchy even towards the end when we were almost finished eating. We arrived 30 minutes before they opened on a Friday and there were already people waiting in the lot which was crazy! It started raining while we were waiting in line and the line got even longer. So make sure you have your IDs with you and are 21+. There's a bar area for drinks and a separate counter where you will order and pay for your food. (They make it pretty explicit that you can't get wings to-go.) Find a seat, and once your food is ready, they'll announce your name, and you pick up your food from the window. FOOD: We got wings in the flavors of lemon pepper (dry rub), sun-dried tomato (dry rub), buffalo lemon pepper (wet), and jerk buffalo (wet). I will say that I definitely preferred the wet wings to the dry wings. I found the dry wings to be a little too salty. In my opinion, the wings and the cook on them were just okay. I wasn't blown away or anything. Maybe the relatively cheap beer and the vibes help draw in all the appeal. TLDR// I don't think I had the greatest wings of all time here, but the vibes were really casual and pleasant. I'm glad I was able to try a place so beloved by locals.
