I have always been someone who's never felt comfortable in their own skin. So what am I doing writing a review for Fem Boudoir you might be wondering? I stumbled upon Fem Boudoir on instagram, they had a contest specifically for women with tattoos. I figured heck why not enter, what are the chances I get chosen... Lo and behold, Jiyeon contacted me! I was excited and shocked, followed by nervousness and so much anxiety. The photos of the women on the Fem Boudoir IG account were beautiful, sexy and so confident looking! After confirming with Jiyeon I was interested, I spoke to her on the phone where she briefly went over what to expect and how the day would unfold. From the time we got off the phone to a couple of days before my big day, Jiyeon kept in touch via email sharing tips on what to wear, ways to mentally prepare myself for the day of, and the different packages to choose from. When the day finally arrived I was beyond nervous, but let me tell you the moment I met Jiyeon in person and I sat on the chair to get my makeup and hair done all the nerves went out the door! It was very intimate, just the wonderful makeup artist (please forgive me for not remembering your name) who made me feel so beautiful... from there, she left me with Jiyeon who took me upstairs for the actual photoshoot. Jiyeon is so sweet and personable, I've never felt so comfortable with someone who I just met!!! Throughout the shoot, Jiyeon would direct me on how to pose while giving words of encouragement. And in between we would talk about anything and everything. I was bummed when she took my last photo because it happened so fast!! After I got dressed, I met her downstairs where we reviewed the photos and OMG I have never felt so beautiful and sexy in my life! Jiyeon is a master behind the lens. I no longer looked like the shy, insecure person I've always felt... on screen I saw a confident, prideful woman! It was so hard to choose because they all turned out so beautifully. Let me tell you something. Jiyeon is so damn good at her job that it'll be impossible to choose a favorite photo once you're done. I am still riding a high from my experience. I brought an entire duffel bag filled with lingerie, robes, and loose t's/tanks, a garbage bag with heels, a box of earrings, and my freshly showered self. Upon arrival, I was greeted by Jiyeon and she is one of the most charming, funny, kind people I've met. She immediately made me feel comfortable and we got to talking about our favorite things, our lives, the outfits, and food! As I was getting makeup and hair done by Corissa (absolutely amazing, with the best smelling products), Jiyeon took my whole closet and organized it on set, while also thinking of complete outfits for me and the set/poses for each fit. I can't describe to you how easy Jiyeon made this process. She is the perfect director, the perfect teacher, the perfect hype woman. These poses had me looking and feeling snatched (because it's a workout). She helped remind me to breathe. She made this a sexy and fun experience, complete with all my favorite r&b music to set the mood to really deliver those bedroom eyes. As someone who loves having my tiddies out all the time, I was super comfortable, but even if someone was uneasy about being pretty naked in front of a stranger, Jiyeon's peaceful demeanor, private studio, and encouraging energy will make you feel so comfortable. Some tips: 1. If you're getting hair done, come with your hair dry to speed the process. 2. If you're getting makeup done, wear a loose top to not get makeup on it 3. Prepare yourself to be sore! Proper leg, glute, and back workout holding poses. 4. Remember to breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth. When she tells you to look at the camera, remember not to wrinkle your forehead looking up, lol. 5. I am not sure if Jiyeon actually recommends this, but I personally would have loved to take a couple shots of tequila before the photos to reeeeeeally loosen myself up. 6. She will ask you what music you want to hear - I would recommend to pick the music that makes you feel sexy. There was something about posing with an arched back, ass up, on silk bed sheets, and hearing songs that make me think of sexy times. 7. Do this for YOU. Even if this is a gift to someone else, do this to remind yourself how incredible you are. 8. When you go through the photos, really go for the ones that you're drawn to the most. I'm sure people like to pick a certain number of photos per outfit, but I chose so many of the same outfit and said no to so many other outfits, just because I was so drawn to the poses, the set, and the outcome. I felt the sexiest in those that I said yes to. 9. I would recommend going in with a budget in mind. A high and a low because you may want more than you think. Not many things make me nervous, but the thought of undressing into something intimate and posing in front of a camera isn't something I felt very comfortable with. As soon as I stepped into the the studio, Jiyeon welcomed me warmly and we began hair and makeup with another artist Carissa who, might I add, did an AMAZING job with my make up. Very natural and subtle but still very sexy. After hair and makeup, I went upstairs to strip down to my photo shoot attire. Although I felt vulnerable for the first couple of minutes, the feeling quickly faded when Jiyeon made the posing feel so natural. We did breathing exercises throughout and Jiyeon has a way of executing her vision to take these absolutely stunning photos. She assured me throughout the entire session that I looked good and was doing well which I very much appreciated. At the end of my photo shoot, she met me in her office to show me the results. I was completely shocked after seeing her vision come to life. I was even more shocked that I was capable of looking so sexy and empowered. These photos would not have been possible without Jiyeon's direction and pure talent. I did this shoot to finally fully embrace my body. I also did it to celebrate me and it was a special gift to myself for my birthday. I cannot recommend Jiyeon enough. She does a great job of making you feel comfortable and takes gorgeous photographs that make you feel absolutely beautiful. She gives great direction, so even if you have no posing experience, she does a great job of making you feel at ease to achieve great poses that translate to her wonderful photographs. The young woman who did my hair and makeup was an absolute treat and she was very down to earth and kind and paid very close attention to any concerns for features I may want to accent and did a great job of highlighting my existing look and features for a very natural palette. Jiyeon's works quickly and was able to showcase the photos she took immediately after the shoot to go over which ones you like the most to move forward with her other packages. She wasn't pushy at all like a lot of other photographers and salespeople and created a very safe space to make your own decisions about how you want to move forward with your photographs. Jiyeon is awesome! She's truly a master when it comes to photography and making you feel confident. She used to be a professional wedding photographer, which shows with her excellent eye for photography and her abiity to get you to relax. Jasmine, who is the hair and makeup artist, is also so talented and fun to talk to as well! So many people commented on my hair and makeup both in person and from my photos :) From start to finish, Jiyeon is so on top of it. She called me to make sure I was ready for my appointment, and sent me lots of email reminders and helpful tips.
