There are really three sides to doing a fence: Sales, Service from the office & Installation. My need: A full re-fencing of my entire yard. Quote range was $4500 - $5800 On the Sales side: The Fence Outlet sales person was great. Tyler, I think, was his name and he had no issue going to my house while I wasn't there (with my permission of course) and doing the quote and leaving it at the door. I got 5 quotes and, while they were mostly the same price, Fence Outlet came in slightly less. Even better, their price for Vinyl was only a couple of hundred dollars more than all wood and way less than everyone else's Vinyl fence prices. I went to the Oviedo office the day after my quote and signed an agreement and gave a deposit. That part was very easy. 5 Stars Service from the Office: The office staff are really great people. Cassandra is the main person I dealt with and she was extremely friendly and professional. Not everything went smoothly, though. My permit request wasn't put in for two weeks after they said they put it in and I had to call them a lot to find out why I wasn't getting a permit. I was told to aim for approx "3 weeks" but it was closer to 5. In their defense, I got this fence in the busy season so I'm sure things were hectic. My experience with Kathleen for the scheduling was very smooth and she got me scheduled as quickly as she could once my permit was issued. 4 Stars Installation: The guys showed up a couple of hours late but I did get a call well before hand informing of the delay. The installers showed up and got started but left early because they said they didn't have all the parts they needed. They said they'd finish up in the morning and that I didn't need to be there for that part. I was super skeptical though and was very delighted to come home the next day to a completed fence. They did an excellent job, although, they left some trash including rusted nails in my drive way and a piece of aluminum that would have easily destroyed my tire had I ran over it. But the install was great otherwise and the fence looks nice. 4 Stars Overall, this is a great company to do business with. Set some proper expectations and realize there are a lot of moving parts and I think you'll be very satisfied with Fence Outlet. I think the one main variable is the installers. While mine worked out fine, I know that contractors can be hit-or-miss so this could make an otherwise great experience into a bad one. read more

I had a great experience with Fence Outlet. I received quote for materials & installation as well as materials only (for self install) for a vinyl fence. Fence Outlet was fair and the staff was really friendly and easy to work with. I ultimately decided to do the materials only and self install the fence, price was a large factor here - the cost difference was significant, which I understand but ultimately led me to the self install. I was able to break my materials only order into 3 parts and install one section at a time. Pick-up was easy, the folks loaded it right in my truck and helped secure everything. When I needed to make a second trip, it was as simple as returning and picking up the second half. There was no hassles for any issues - for example on one order there were 3 fence slats that were damaged due to the strapping that bound them. I brought them back and the staff looked over them and replaced them for me. The vinyl fence was easy to install - the hardest part is not the fence - it is navigating your own yard and avoiding marked underground cabling or removing roots in the way. At the same time as I started my vinyl fence my father ordered wood panel fence and they quickly delivered to him with a few days (wood fence if course is a little more of a pain to install......and you can't install in without help :) Overall, I am happy with Fence Outlet and recommend them if you have a fence project read more

I originally got 3 quotes, Fence Outlet was the cheapest by roughly $350. Now I see why. Things first went well, for the most part, they removed my old fence, and put up the new fence in half a day. Per the city, Fence Outlet needed to leave a 5 foot section undone until after inspection, then they would come back and finish, no bid deal, I get it. Day of install, a random person rings by doorbell, says they saw on facebook I was getting rid of my fence and to come pick it up, free...I didn't post it and I was confused. Come to find out, it was the installers. So now I have two other people on my property hauling away fence. God forbid they get hurt, I can get in trouble. Next, someone from Fence Outlet comes to finish the 5 foot section, and I realize after he leaves, the fence post feels unstable, not sturdy like the others. I dig about 6 inches down and realize they decided not to concrete this post in. I let a manager know and it still hasn't been corrected, its been 8 days although I was told he would of been here last week to fix. And lastly, today I decide to check my sprinklers are running fine...well they aren't. They broke a line. Yes, they make you sign a waiver that they aren't responsible...but you know when you hit PVC Pipe with a shovel..so a heads up would have been nice. read more

7/1/24 i contacted Fence Outlet for a quote to replace my back fence and one fence on the side. The fence was installed by two hard working employees on 8/19/24. It took around 6-7 hours to install. They should of had more than two people doing this job for a 5K job. After meeting with my representative in person to tell him I wanted vinyl fencing, +2 gates one on each side of the house. He took measurements, looked at the fence line and told me that I was gonna have to get a landscaper to clear the area to install the fence. In a smug, sarcastic tone, he told me they didn't do that, I would have to get a landscaper, because they are not in the landscaping business. They were fence installers. I let this comment go for now. After contacting my landscaper, he did the best job he knew how based on what my representative told me that I needed to do to make this happen. Once my representative came back to look at the job the landscaper did, he said more things needed to be done. So, I contacted the landscaper yet again. After the landscaper did the job the second time, the representative came out again and said it was not enough, that he still needed to do more. That is when I got annoyed and he said again we are not landscapers. We are fence installers. I said passionately, you may not be landscapers, but you know what needs to be done to make it happen, so you should have people that can do both, so the customer doesn't have to keep going back-and-forth to get this done. After I walked away from this guy very upset, he contacted his manager who said for a few hundred dollars more we will go ahead and do it for you. My question is, why didn't you offer that to begin with instead of putting me through this nonsense. Make it part of the job you quote!!! In addition to all of the above, I've had to get a survey completed, they had to get a permit from the county and utility yard inspection. in fairness to the company, I could have had this installed on 3 August, but I was on vacation for two weeks and out of the country. I am torn whether to recommend someone else go through this, but I've had other people come to my home before them to give a quote and they never even responded with a quote after taking measurements. Contracted 6 weeks ago for 145 feet of alum fence and was told it would take 4-6 weeks. Now 6 weeks later they are telling me another 6 weeks for a total of 12 weeks from start to finish (already have 1/2 of my money by the way). Seems the salesperson that sold my job got "promoted" and my contract was misplaced or some other excuse. Mind you, they had no problem cashing my check and over the past 6 weeks, they have provided ZERO communication to me. All I will write is this. Audio and video record the walk-thru and estimating process. You'll be happy you did. 25% off for the 25th anniversary was not as advertised or as committed to verbally. Walk-thru of my property with their estimator was thorough, even to the point of their employee pointing out the roots I would want to remove in advance of the fence being installed however this entire section of the fence was somehow not included in the original quote. This wound up costing me an additional $800.00. What I was led to believe was a great deal was no better than the competitors. I went with a family-owned business because I work for a family-owned business but I now regret that decision. Again, audio and video record the walk-thru and estimating process. You'll be happy you did. UPDATE 01/10/2020: After being contacted by Fence Outlet I stand by my review. At the time of the meeting with their estimator I was never presented with a sheet that showed the breakdown of their 25th anniversary promotion. I was not given a breakdown (sent as a PDF) until I questioned the billing and the 25% off turned out to be for purchases over $10,000.00. Their estimator made a big deal about it being their 25th year in business and verbally promoted the 25% off discount. I have a residential home and I was getting less than 100' of fencing and two gates installed. Why promote or even tell me about the 25% off? In the response to my initial review Holly alludes to my "confusion." I am not and was not confused. I understood fully what I was told but I wrongly assumed that what I was told is what was on the contract. If they had been up front and honest I may have still decided to hire them to install my fence but I cannot and will not recommend them to any friends, family, or co-workers. Audio and video record the estimating process and have your lawyer review the contract before signing. Sadly it has come to this when dealing with a family-owned business. Also be aware that they do not secure the fence post caps so if you want to make sure they don't come off you may want to secure them with a bit of clear silicone. Also if you have a post that is going to be right up against your house or other structure take a look at the cap that they use for that post as they will likely just take a standard cap and rough-cut it to fit. For a company that prides itself on having its own manufacturing capabilities I would have expected that they would have designed post caps for these types of installations, maybe something that is actually molded with a finished edge. read more

I'm sitting on the patio enjoying a cup of coffee right now, zenning out looking at our backyard with our gorgeous fence and realizing that I forgot to write a review of our fantastic experience with Fence Outlet! We got quotes from their competitors (Mossy Oak) being one of them. I was almost sure we were going to go with Missy Oak, but after our sales rep, Marc Ellis came out, I knew we needed to go with Fence Outlet instead. Where Mossy had rushed our initial meeting and said that the installers would figure things out day of install, Marc took the time to find our actual property lines and helped us trouble shoot the different areas of our property. The quote started high because we had a weird slope in the back and we wanted the height of the fence to be all one level, this meant custom panels and tall ones would be needed. However we ended up deciding to take that cost difference between the quotes and hired a landscaper to do a simple grading of our backyard and it paid off! Marc came back out to the property to re-quote and was able to drop the price by a couple grand using all standard sized panels! This included having the New England style post caps and white hardware for a nice seamless and regal look (in my opinion). Install was super quick. Took them exactly 5.5 hours to do (just as they said, even worked around the rain that day timing their breaks to work with the Orlando weather) were able to hide our unsightly cable and phone boxes and although they accidentally arrived with black hardware their customer service department had another tech come out a couple days later to switch it to white. Installation was in August and there have been no issues. Cleans up so easy with hose (or rain) and holds up to all the tropical winds. We highly recommended them for your project!!! read more

I had a few different quotes and Fence Outlet wasn't the cheapest option for a White PVC fence. I choose them because they said their PVC fences have metal inserts in the bottom support to prevent sag. I liked the idea of no sag, so I said lets pay for the higher quality fence. I was not home when the install occurred due to busyness at work. When I got home, I checked a panel to see how sturdy they were, and it was very flimsy. I was not convinced it had metal supports on the bottom. I went ahead and took one panel apart. Guess what? No metal supports inside. Fence Outlet called me the next day and asked how the install went. I let them know my concern about the non existent metal beam. It didnt seem they believed me at all and they said they would be in touch. The next day I decided I was going to go over there myself. I told them my concerns, and they really did seem skeptical about my claims. They agreed to schedule someone to come out to have a look. 3 days later (total of 5 days lapsed since install) the sales guy did come out. I showed him the flex, and we took a panel apart to show no metal support. At that point someone finally believed me. He did mention the people who installed the fence were new guys they haven't used before. He got on the phone with someone and told me he would be in touch. 3 days later (day 8 days since initial install) my neighbor sees me outside to let me know that 2 guys were at my house the previous day to fix the fence. I was surprised as I never received a phone call to schedule an appointment for them to come out. I wanted to be home at the time to witness the metal inserts being installed into the fence. My neighbor said he went ahead and talked to one of the guys because I mentioned to my neighbor what happened. My neighbor told me the first guy told him the supports fell off the truck. He talked to the second guy a little later, and was told that they forgot. Thankfully my neighbor was there to talk to them We called Fence outlet a few days later and we let them know we didnt receive a phone call, but they did fix the issue. When we asked what had happened, the answer we received was miscommunication between installers and fence outlet. Personally I would never use fence outlet again. If I hadnt checked the fence myself, I wouldnt have been the wiser and woudlnt have gotten what I paid for. You judge for yourself if you would based on my experience. read more

They did a good job but the communication is horrendous. The sales people and the office are very slow to respond to text messages, voice mails and any other message. They will get the job done but arm yourself with somepatients. Ensure that all is completed the same day if possible because if you need to have the come back, it will be a pain for them to even call you back to reschedule. read more

Everything seemed to go OK. Fence went up and I was happy with it. Then the hurricane hit and part of the fence broke. I took a look myself and saw that it was shoddy installation. The screws for the fence latch were not drilled into the metal insert, but rather screwed in to bend the metal insert inside the gate post. Also one of the fence posts was held by a single screw. To keep the post vertical the cross beam had screws in both sides. This kept the post vertical and together. Of course the hurricane easily ripped the screw right through the post. Now the post has a crack. I've fixed this by putting a metal plate inside the post. I've contacted my sales person and called the office. The sales person was very nice and got right back to me. The office has not even acknowledged me. No response to anything at all. No email response, no phone call. I would shop around more before hire this company. At least after installation and before you approve the job, take off the caps and look down the posts to make sure they didn't do shoddy work. read more

I was happy until I had to reach out for correction of work. (they neglected to place posts in concrete that I had paid for) thus causing my new fence to lean. I understand they are busy after a hurricane, but for weeks to go by with no reply to multiple phone calls is totally unacceptable. Not only did I make multiple phone calls but when I went in to personally get resolution I was told I would get a phone call by end of the day with a solid date to make corrections. End of business came and went with yet another failed call. I would wait for corrections, but I have reached the end of my patience when they refuse to return phone calls. Do it yourselfers bettter know what they need when going in. The clerks have no idea when you need something out of the ordinary. I asked for everything to do a fence. I winded up short screws. When i called back she said those parts dont come with screws. I stated i needed all parts to self install fence. She had to ask if she could give me the 20 or so screws i needed to finish job. I would have bought if she knew. I asked about stepping it on concrete steps. She had no clue. I understand they are not installers but take iniative to learn basics. The fence itself is fine, the install went fine, and dealing with Fence Outlet was a positive experience overall. When the installers came, I had a couple issues to solve such as a slope in my yard, they had the experience to suggest the right to ideas to make things work. They also provided 12 months no interest which was attractive to me, but the company they use for their financing, Lendmark, appears to be a shady company and they are out to make sure you end up paying interest either way... Very high interest... In a nutshell, I paid $3,000 for my fence and when I received my first bill from Lendmark I saw that the amount due was over $4,000! I ask them why, they said "the interest get's added first and if you pay the $3,000 within twelve months they take it off". I also got my first bill in the mail with the first payment due 10 days later - and if I missed that first payment the deal would be off and I would start paying interest. Lastly, my bill does not even show what my payoff amount is, only shows that my balance is over $4,000 - this seems like purposeful deception as most people would assume they have to pay off that balance on the account, but they don't. I also just found out that Lendmark declared to the credit agencies that I owe the $4k, this is on my credit report until I pay off the original $3k and HOPE they refund me the $1k of interest they charged me on day 1! The only reason this place gets 1 star is because I could not give it zero! I was given two ESTIMATES one with a tree boxed in and one with the fence butted up against the tree. When the installers got there they did NOT box in the tree and fence outlet still wanted to charge me for it! Then they tried to tell me they could only give me a small discount because they used more things. I could not find a difference form the first estimate and what they did but they still over charged me. I was disgusted by how I was treated and am getting an outside source involved. **Orlando/Oviedo*** The estimate and installation was quick and painless, but what really sold us on the fence was their "lifetime warranty." After the install, I noticed that they didn't put concrete in the ground for the gate to stay secure, but figured I could do what they missed. Needless to say I hadn't gotten around to it when a windstorm blew open my poorly installed gate and broke part of the vinyl that is supposed to be under warranty. Not only have they not honored their promise, they won't even return a phone call. Have been trying for months to get help and they aren't interested. George and his crew came and did the installation and were very accommodating with our request to have the fence as low to the ground as possible (so that when the landscapers sprayed weed killer around it, it would still be low to the ground when the grass died). I'm a fence contractor. I try to find the best material at the best price for my customers. Because of that, a few years back, I began to purchase the vinyl fence and other products from a different supplier. Recently, FO emailed me, asking if they could get a chance to compare prices. I gave the chance, but they were around 400.00 more than the real wholesaler. I should have listened to that voice in my head, and stayed away. But recently I was contracted for a small vinyl job. With such a small order, I called FO out of convenience. Holy crap! If you plan on doing business with these people using a credit card over the phone, expect to email both sides of your credit card and your drivers license. Then fill out a form repeating everything you've ordered, including all your vital info and sign it. That is their policy. That's fine for some people, but I don't like the idea of my personal information laying on a counter. Not even for 2 seconds. That bothers me. There's people coming and going through the day. Who knows what's going on there. I talked with the manager over the phone, but it was just a policy he wasn't willing to bend no matter how much business I've done in the past with them. My business operates through this card. It's used hundreds of times a month. FO is the first to use such tactics. Hesitantly, I went with them because of scheduling and time constraints. Then I find out at the last minute while someone is picking up the material, that it is not routed or prepared. Their machine is broken, forcing us to route out the posts and gate kit ourselves. You'd think they would have cut us a small discount. Nope. Will I return? I've never gone through the trouble to write a negative review. Would you bring your business back? The fence company took the post which was attached to the fence between mine and my neighbor's yard when they installed a new gate leading into my neighbor's property. According to my neighbor and the fence company, the fence between the properties is mine. They took my post, The fence is now falling over and they refuse to come and repair the damage they created. I am filing a police report. The thing is, what kind of fence installing company would knowingly remove a fence post which is necessary to hold up a fence? A TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE. From non English speaking workers, to poor installation, rude workers, and non working gates! I asked for my fence to be set level. At first, it was. Now i have post sinking and pulling the fence apart. They say its because of the hurricane.. And want another $485.00 to fix it. If the post would have been set correctly, wet set, this would have never happened.. I had several caps fly off and am missing 8 of them. I go to Home Depot to find replacement caps. They sell them with a small tube of glue for each one!!! If mine had been glued on, not just set on, they wouldnt have come off!. We got a few quotes before deciding to go with Fence Outlet based on reviews we heard from others. When we met with the sales guy we told him NUMEROUS times that we were only allowed to do 4 foot PVC white picket style fence because of our location in the neighborhood being on the water that is what HOA allows. While signing the contract we were all busy discussing and our sales rep continued to talk so we signed the paperwork. The day of the installation we showed up halfway through the install and I looked outside to see they were doing the picket style fence on the far end of the yard, but the sides were 6 foot privacy fence. We immediately stopped the workers and they showed us the paperwork that said that's what we were getting, so we called the store. Indeed the sales guy had written on the paperwork that we wanted that. We still have no idea where he got that idea because we NEVER said anything about that. They were able to get the right fence out and complete the installation that day after we paid additional fees to get the PVC fence for the entire yard. Our wonderful sales guy also told us that if they did break a sprinkler during the installation they would come fix. Well guess what happened? They broke one, so we called the store and they said they would send someone out. After multiple phone calls someone came out 3 weeks after our installation. So, for 3 weeks we had to turn our irrigation system off until they "had someone in our area". We weren't home when they fixed the issue, but come to find out he only fixed one sprinkler head and there were two others broken. We finally had someone else fix the issues for us because the fence outlet would take 2-3 more weeks and we couldn't wait. My husband did call and they said they would talk to their boss about reimbursing us, but we never heard back. Our fence looks great, but I would not recommend this company to anyone. We have had numerous neighbors ask where we got our fence and we tell them do NOT use the fence outlet. read more
