I ordered an iced tea with *regular ice* and I realized when I drove away that there was no ice. At all. So I turned right around and I came back and happened to arrive when the scheduled pick-up was (at 4:40. I picked it up at 4:35. It is 4:50 as I am writing this). I let them know that they forgot the ice and showed the employee my receipt and he told me that maybe it had melted. He asked me if I wanted ice in it and I said yes. It's the main reason I came back. So he took the cup and began to peel off all of the boba seal which did not come off easily at all. At that point I would have just made a fresh drink. Looking for cheap and great boba around UTD? This is the place to go! This is now my favorite spot because of the rose oolong tea. There aren't many places that have rose on their menu, so I'm happy to see it on Feng Cha's menu. Feng Cha does an excellent job in balancing sweetness and ice. My boyfriend had the kiwi basil seed drink. I don't recommend it- it's pretty bitter and we had to request for extra sugar. The regal grape wasn't good either, so that was disappointing. However, I really LOVE the peach oolong tea and lychee black tea! The lychee is more on the sweet side though. Boba is cooked perfectly here. Not too soft, and not too firm. Personally, I am not a fan of the milk foam. It's not bad, it's just that I would rather not have it. Also for drinks without the milk foam, there's usually a giant tea bag inside the drink. It's nice but I wasn't sure if it was a mistake or not when I first went here. A regular drink with tapioca is about $3 here! That's SO cheap compared to other boba places! The workers here are very kind. They offer a student discount as long as you have your ID. If you would like to sample the milk foam, just ask. They are very friendly and are here to help you choose the perfect drink for your tastes. One thing I would like to suggest is to call out numbers instead of the workers personally delivering the drink. Just moved to the area and this place is right around the corner where I live. Came in and got the Classic Boba Milk tea (4.25) and the Mango Au Lait (4.50$). The drinks came out fast and it looked great. I love how they design their cup to be very sturdy and possibly reusable. The decor inside also looked great with adorable stuff animals laying around. With that said, the issue for me here are the drink themselves. The tea that they use to make the classic boba milk tea where not very good. I mean it is probably the easiest thing to make and they didn't get it right. The Mango au lait was way too sweet and just wasn't that good. So sad. Also, I am curious about the way they make their cup. When you order a large, you get this tall and long cup that made it looked like you are getting a lot but I'm pretty sure that you are being played. Just something to think about. read more

Black Tea tasted like chocolate milk and Green Tea also tasted like it was made with powdered milk. It could be the sweetener they use, but it was not refreshing. The people who work there seem new and try to help, but they seem to be less aware of customer experience, like getting your cup near the seating, etc. Providing napkins in convenient locations, would also be nice. read more

What I love the most here is the design of their cups and vert strong tea flavor from the drinks. I usually order oolong tea with milk cheese foam. I can taste the tea very vividly and and cheese foam is creamy and cheesy. It might sound weird but it fit each other well. I usually order it with light ice and less sugar though. My friend loves their citrus lord, which is fruity tea with fresh orange slices and cubed strawberries. Very refreshing. Jasmine tea and classic milk tea are also good. What I hope they will have is egg pudding topping. They currently only have boba, aloe and black jelly. Very limited choices of toppings. Their cups are tall, skinny and sleek. I tried the matcha milk foam with oolong tea on my first visit. The milk foam was interesting, definitely unique. My friend's taro version was definitely better and sweeter, whereas the matcha version had a bitter taste to it. This place is definitely more Asian and for tea purists. There aren't a ton of sweet, fruity flavors or blended drinks. The drinks are already less sweet so you don't have to adjust as much in asking for less sugar. When I went, Yelp offered a check in which they were able to combine with a student/military discount! I will definitely be back to try some more flavors! read more

One of my favorite boba place. Mostly because: 1, this is one of the few boba places that is peaceful - no loud kpop music blasting. I can hear the cashier and myself and during the precovid time, this was one of the few places I actually enjoyed hanging out for some quiet time 2, fresh ingredients, esp the seasonal drinks, they use fresh dragonfruit or mangos and not a lot of boba places so that. Most use syrups and other artificial powders ... not this place. 3, quality tea. Good boba is really dependent on the base and if you don't have quality tea than it's really just flavored water. Here the tea is brewed well and is strong. Plus, the owner is so nice and checks in with the guests. I'm surprised at how she is able to maintain her niceness... usually boba joints have grumpy overly stressed owners who emanates that same attitude to their workers who then also emits that to their patrons. The cheese foam is so good, it tastes like liquid cheesecake, and all their tea are so good but not too sweet. The sizes are great, as the cups are really tall. New favorite boba place alert! In a metroplex filled with bubble tea shops all over it's hard to stand out and make yourself different. Feng Cha has managed to completely wow me with their drinks and concept! Straight from Taiwan in the nation's second US location but first in Texas, they opened up in Richardson near the UTD area. They are known for their fresh fruit teas, but what caught my eye were the milk foam caps. Now I know what you're thinking - man just another place that does milk foam caps... but Feng Cha has managed to make the milk foam in 3 different flavors and super creamy that it taste like a dessert on top of your drink! The three flavors are milk foam, cheese cap, and matcha! I tried the matcha and it pretty much tasted like matcha tiramisu cream...it was amazing. In addition to the milk foam cap, the tea was smooth and the boba was delicious and had a nice chew. As for the citrus tea I'm pretty sure they fit a whole orange into the drink (check the photo to see!). Service was great and their drink cup quality and caps totally put a extra touch that made the whole drinking experience all the more better - you can sip your drink or poke the straw through the other hole to get to the boba. Finally got around to trying this place. I'd say its better than your average tea shop. My go to at every place I try is the black milk tea. The black milk tea here tastes like they use real tea not the powder. It's also not overpoweringly sweet like other places. Next time i come back, I'll definitely give the foam a try. Some other nice things about this place: very spacious and modern interior, nice comfortable furniture and artwork, nice quality cups and straws. Those last two are pretty insignificant, but i still noticed. Also 10% student discount for you students out there. read more

Wow, what a new Gem! So happy I stumbled upon this place while visiting. I'm from New York so bubble tea is NOTHING new to me (Kungfu Tea, Vivi, Gongcha, etc.) But Feng Cha somehow managed to reinvent boba. Since I'm a health nerd, I care a lot about ingredients in my drink. Most boba places use powder and a lot of artificial ingredients, but not this one. I ordered their Brown Sugar Ginger Tea. They seriously put fresh ginger juice in it, like I could taste the fiber of the ginger! It can't get more authentic than that. They were also very generous with the goji berries which made the drink sooo aromatic, like something you'd get from some fancy 5-star hotel teahouse. And almost forgot to mention the value: the cup was HUGE, bigger than a Starbucks Venti. Worth every penny. I was kind of sad that I wouldn't be able to drink it anymore when I go back to NYC, but they recently opened one here! Def give them a try! read more

I think I have a new favorite boba place and it's called Feng Cha. I heard of this place from a friend and decided to check it out. The person working at the cashier was friendly and even took the time to explain everything that was on the menu. She emphasized how the fruit was cut fresh daily and no fruit syrups were used to substitute the fresh fruit taste. She also described the leaf teas as fragrant and you can even smell the tea leaves yourself by the small boxes of tea they have at the front of the cash register. SHE EVEN OFFERED SAMPLES OF THE FOAMS!!! No boba place has EVER offered me any samples and the fact that Feng Cha did was so thoughtful and I didn't have to be my indecisive self and not know what I wanted. I tried the cheese foam and the matcha foam, which were both delicious by the way and very unique but the cheese foam was my winner. It's less sweet and more savory but IT WORKS. TRUST ME. I got the dark roasted black tea with cheese foam. I was mad at myself that I forgot to ask for 50% sugar but I was so pleasantly surprised by the fact that the drink was not overly sweet AND I could taste the delicious black tea taste. I give this place a 5/5 for their wonderful customer service and delicious teas. I'm so so excited to go to this place more and more. read more

During my vacation to Dallas from southern California, I got to try Feng Cha Teahouse and it was definitely one of the highlights of my trip. Honestly, I went to Feng Cha probably TOO often during my Texas trip... Anyways, Feng Cha is located in a plaza with ample parking, and has tons of space inside for University students nearby to study. They provide a student discount and even have a study room that students could potentially reserve! As for the drinks, Feng Cha have a huge variety of teas that they brew compared to other places. They also have the most variety of milk foam compared to any other boba shops that I've seen from standard cheese milk foam, sea salt milk foam, matcha milk foam, taro milk foam, and even tiramisu milk foam. So if you really like milk foam as a topping on your drinks, then there's a huge variety available! As for fruit teas, they use all real fruits compared to other places, and all the ones I tried were delicious. I would highly recommend the Jasmine Green Apple Tea, Citrus Lord, and the Bursting Dragon Fruit. My friends enjoyed the Kiwi Basic Green Tea a lot though, so I would recommend that as well. Feng Cha doesn't make their drinks too sweet compared to some other places, so I honestly think regular sugar and regular ice is perfectly fine! But Feng Cha do let you adjust the sugar and ice level, so you always have the option to adjust if needed. As for their special drinks, I'm a huge fan of the Dirty Boba. It's just a brown sugar milk tea, which is very trendy nowadays with almost every boba shop having it on the menu. But I think Feng Cha does it especially well. You could even get the Crème brûlée version of the dirty boba, which is pretty unique and would recommend trying that if you like brown sugar milk teas. Feng Cha has some pretty cool cakes as well! If you're boba crazy, then the Sea Salt Pearl cake has boba on top of it. But I personally really liked the Oreo Cheese and the Matcha Love cake! The cakes were a tasty and very aesthetic snack to share with friends. Overall, I would highly recommend Feng Cha, and it was definitely one of the highlights of my Texas trip. It is a gem in the neighborhood especially if you're a UTD student, this is your GO TO PLACE at all times :) Love their atmosphere and décor, everything is simple and minimalistic yet artsy. I ordered the fruit tea that day because it was the hot day for the winter lol refreshing and not overwhelmingly sweet with artificial sweetener like all other bubble tea places used fruit powder or concentrates. I have to say I think the brewing process still needs work. The brown sugar ginger chrysanthemum tea was better than what we had before. Their green tea was a little on the watered down side. However, if you let the drink sit for about 30min then it allows more time to brew to bring out the flavor. Most people however prefer to order a drink and drink it at the time they order it. My first time at Feng Cha and I am thoroughly impressed! I'm not an avid boba drinker anymore (had to leave the life that was killing my bank account) but I still know what's what. Simply decorated, Feng Cha is the zen-est boba shop I've ever been to. The staff is helpful and sincerely sweet to their guests. As for their drinks, I got the Green Apple Green Tea purely because it looked cute on the menu and it didn't sound like a humanly possible combination. To my surprise, it was fantastic! I asked for half the sweetener and light ice and it came out just slightly sweet with a hint of Jolly Rancher green apple and the slight aftertaste of green tea.
