This place is between 3 and 4 stars for me, I would give it 3.5 if that were allowed. The good parts is that I like the bakery section with all the goods and I tried their shanghai mooncake and lotus mooncake which were pretty good. The ambiance is also nice. However, I didn't enjoy the things we got there as much as I would've liked. The lychee mascarpone cake is unique but the mascarpone flavor overpowers the cake. Next the mango mousse was okay but the ratio of mousse to cake is off, there's way too much mousse and the texture is quite gelatinous as well. I also found the milk tea rather basic and honestly not that great. So I don't think I'll be going back, maybe for the bakery items but not the drinks or cakes for me.

Love the cake and late night hours! Service is friendly and fast. The cakes are beautifully decorated and packaged so nicely. We ordered a strawberry short cake and the cake layer and cream were very fresh. They were packaged neatly and even included candles, cake slicer, and a small chocolate that said happy birthday we placed on the cake.

What a Yelp find! After a less than amazing dinner date my hubby and I were looking for dessert and coffee + tea and found Sweet Hut. The concept is wonderful - grab a tray & tongs and indulge! They offer sweet and savory pastries and have a plentiful menu with coffee, tea (decaf & caffeinated) as well as boba. They also have small bites like chicken nuggets, sweet potato fries and the like. We were on a mission for sweets so we grabbed + Cinnamon Swirl Roll - the dough was so moist and sweet! We warmed it up and it was tasty. However, the cinnamon was lacking and there was no drizzle on ours. We ended up dipping it in the nutella that oozed out of my next pastry... + Chocolate Nutella Bun - amazing heated up! Wow! I had nutella dripping down my hand. The bun was a sweet dough and so soft it complimented the nutella wonderfully. I HIGHLY recommend this one! + Portuguese Egg Tart - my hubby wanted to try this and found it tasty. + Coconut Tart - my hubby likened this to a macaroon, maybe not as sweet, but good still. + Brown Sugar Ginger Root Tea with milk - my hubby loved this and it smelled delicious! We will definitely be back and next time we are bringing the kids! I may also wander in here to just grab a treat and a coffee some days too!

Came across this place on Social Media and I said I have to give it a try.. My wife and I decided to make a the drive to see what's Sweet Hut is all about. So the place is actually like a small bakery/cafe where people can enjoy a coffee, tea, lattes and fresh fruit smoothies.. We bought some very delicious bread and also some drinks. The service at the counter was very polite and recommended us some great options. They have plenty of great options. If we are ever in the area again we will definitely make a stop!

Just okay boba, nice selection of baked goods, but really just a good late night place to hangout nearby some of our favorite Asian restaurants. We tend to end up here after dinner if we dine in the Plaza. Kind of has college student vibes. Lots of indoor and outdoor seating

I stopped here for dessert. Picked up a mango mousse and a Black Forest Swiss roll. The roll wasn't overly sweet, which is exactly how I like it. I haven't tried the mousse yet but it looks great! There were quite a few people when I stopped by around 7:30 pm, but the line moved fast. Clean restaurant and plenty of seating space.

To walk in stilettos takes guts So I hold Barbi's hand while she struts Her figure is art But so is this tart With custard, @Plano's Sweet Hut! We came here looking for a treat And Barbi to show off her feet And her shiny high shoes But you'll never lose When you come to the Hut that is Sweet! If it were full of Swedish people, it'd obviously be Swede Hut. And if it had a dirty floor, it'd be Sweep Hut. Whereas if it had no working AC, it'd be Sweat Hut. Thankfully it's not. What to get: Custard Tart! Yummm. The wife cakes. Free water. Free microwave. What not to get: Taro Smoothie - very popular but overrated. The best thing about Sweet Hut is the hours and the fact you can come in here at any given time and just hang out, do work, use WiFi, tons of people, lots of flirting, young people, older people, whatever you want. It's mostly kids from the nearby UTD, but it's eclectic. Barbi always says, she wishes every city had Sweet Hut, where you could come, hang out, get pastries, get drinks, any time, all the time. The downside is, everyone knows about it now, and it's even busier than the ones in Atlanta. No matter what time of day or night, you'll find it hard to get a table or chair or outlet, and some of the kids are very selfish (5 chairs, 1 big table, 4 outlets, 1 person, bags in all the seats, type thing). But no matter. Let's rap. Welcome to my studio, I call it the BEAT HUT One of my balls is posh, the other is a STREET NUT ATL is too warm, I'm stuck in a HEAT RUT And I can't play golf cuz I have such a WEAK PUTT So I go way up to Plano, trying to MEET THOTS Put my window down and blast the RHCP's ROBOTS Drop my tea and all my pastries, I'm such a TREAT KLUTZ Better go back to get replacements from SWEET HUT This chain is from ATL, and has 4 (I think, maybe more by now) very popular, wildly busy locations in the North Burbs there, as well as one right in the heart of Midtown too. I love the ones in ATL, especially for people watching, but lately, with Atlanta dying down a bit and Dallas coming up, this has become my fave location. It's packed with cute people and great for people watching. Or if you're a schoolteacher who brings his or her class here (mistake?), Pupil Watching. I was excited to try the first-ever SH outside of Georgia. I've been to every single one in Georgia, and have reviewed them too, and even taken my cats there (Harley and Mochi, check the pix out). They are amazing places to hang out on a Saturday night, and after a tricky start, that has become the case here. As Atlanta has scaled back hours and become less of a late night destination, this location has slowly morphed into what Atlanta used to be, and it has become our go to destination in DFW for hanging out at night. Now I need to get in bed, or as I call it, my Sheet Hut. And I need to get some Sleep Hut. While listening to No Doubt, Don't Sweet (Hut). And if you don't like this review, I don't give a Sheet Hut. Also, my fave pastry here these days, along with the custard tart, is the lovely flaky wife cake, which isn't called that here, but you'll see it in some of the pictures, so you'll know which one to get. Now I need to go and find my AC remote because it's getting a little Hut in here. Or I could take off all my clothes.

You can see through the glass that there are a lot of seatings

My favorite is the Hong Kong Milk Tea. This is a very popular study space/work cafe because it is opened until midnight. Never had any issue with the wifi, service, or the food. This is a very solid work/study location if you want a great boba tea and typical Asian pastries on the side.

Creme Brulee Milk Tea & Taro Milk Tea

This is a bakery PLUS. They have quick bites to enjoy with your boba drinks & dessert. It has HUGE selection of sweet treats, and decent selection of savory treats. The interior has modern design. The staff is friendly. It's a nice place to hang out with friends, but you would need earbuds to block the noise if you plan to study or do some work. We had the creme brulee & taro boba. I would suggest 50% sweetness level if you don't care for super sweet foods or drinks. I had 75% & thought it was still a bit too sweet.

Tried it for the first time and I'm a fan! I liked their selections and everything we tried so far's been yummy. I went on a Saturday night and it was PACKED! I don't know if there were any seatings left but we weren't planning to stay anyways so that was okay. Definitely will return!

    Matcha Latte + Baked Goods
    Lucie N.

FOOD + DRINKS Matcha Latte with boba - The Matcha latte was pretty mid overall. The flavor is very reminiscent of drink mix and it was not super well mixed. Also the boba was pretty hard. Bakery Goods - really good overall. Great flavor, fluffy, soft, and just delicious. Great snacks for studying! I had the Taro Butterfly which had great texture. It wasn't super paste-y as other Taro snacks I've had have been. Very nice and soft taro flavor. The other two buns, the Hokkaido Milk and the Violet (something) were also yummy! VIBES Great place to study or catch up with friends. The Wi-Fi here is pretty decent so a great place to do some work. I had some meetings and there wasn't any lagging or cutting out. It does get pretty crowded with students throughout the day but there is plenty of seating and outlets. SERVICE Service was nice. I ordered boba in my drink and it didn't come out with boba when I received it so I let them know. They were very polite about it and added it in.

Very tasty Taro milk tea and samosas. I wouldn't get the samosas again because they are overpriced for the tiny amount they give you.

Look at the cake, shrunk and dry as cardboard.
    Amy W.

I would give ZERO star if I could. BE AWERE if you buy cake for to go from this place! They packed some aged cakes instead of the fresh ones in the display counters. As soon as I opened the box I noticed the cakes look different, they are dry as cardboard, I can't believe how terrible they taste. Dishonest place, won't come back again!

An absolute gem in Richardson -- we'll definitely be back!…read more La Casita Bakeshop completely exceeded our expectations. From the moment we walked in, the vibe was warm and welcoming, and our server Diana made the whole experience. She was knowledgeable, genuinely enthusiastic about the menu, and so pleasant to talk to -- exactly the kind of hospitality that turns a good meal into a great one. The food itself was outstanding. We ordered the French Toast and the Birria Brisket Croque Madame, and both were incredible -- beautifully presented and packed with flavor. The Croque Madame especially blew us away; it's the kind of dish you think about after you leave. The side hash rounded it all out perfectly. And then there are the pastries. We grabbed the Mango Sticky Rice Cream Puff and the Amaretto Cherry Basque Cheesecake Brownie from the Weekend Selections -- both were stunning, not just visually but in flavor. The cheesecake brownie topped with those cherry meringues looked almost too good to eat. Almost. Washed everything down with the Salted Honey Matcha and it was the perfect companion to the whole spread. Honestly, the hardest part was choosing -- the menu is so creative and well thought-out that we already have a list of things we want to try next time. And there will be a next time. La Casita has earned a regular customer. Highly, highly recommend.

Great food, but front-of-house operations and management are a total mess…read more My family and I finally visited La Casita Bakeshop over the weekend after seeing a lot of marketing for it. While the food itself was definitely good, the front-end operations were incredibly poor, and the service left a lot to be desired. The serving staff seemed completely untrained and lacked basic common sense, right down to knowing how to properly handle plates and utensils. To make matters worse, we encountered the shift manager, Jesus, on Sunday, May 24th. Not only was he arrogant, but he completely lacked Customer Service 101 skills. At one point, he told us the wait time would be an hour, yet there were four completely empty tables inside and servers were just standing around idle. He is clearly an inexperienced restaurant manager who does not know how to efficiently run a floor or manage a team. A major caution for potential guests ordering takeout: The staff has absolutely no clue how to properly pack food. They packed runny eggs into a standard cardboard box, which inevitably leaked right through the holes and made a massive mess everywhere (see attached picture). On top of that, for a bakery and coffee spot, they didn't even carry basic options like 2% or Lactaid milk. My humble suggestion to the owners is to invest some serious time and guidance into improving your front-of-house operations and management training. The kitchen is doing its part, but the front-end experience and sloppy packaging are dragging the whole establishment down.

Located among the shops and bars of historic downtown sits 1418 Coffee, a cute and genuinely great little shop that fits the area perfectly. Inside, the shop is fairly narrow but offers a good amount of both indoor and outdoor seating. I arrived with a friend a little before 11 am on a Sunday, and it was absolutely packed. A biking group was posted up outside, students were inside working on homework, even though most colleges have not started yet, and plenty of other patrons were taking their Sunday mornings easy. Despite having at least 10 to 15 people in front of us, the line moved pretty quickly. My friend who was more of a regular at the shop knew a lot of the staff and had convos with them. It feels like a little community! I ordered the Maple Sausage Croissant sourced from Sugar Loaf Bakery along with a hot Purple Haze latte made with lavender and vanilla syrup. My drink came out fairly quickly, and I thought it was great. It was well balanced and not overly sweet. As for the Maple Sausage Croissant, it was exactly what it sounded like, a maple sausage tucked into a croissant. I initially expected the croissant itself to be maple flavored, similar to a McGriddle, but it was still fresh and enjoyable. They had been keeping them warm in a heater throughout the morning, which definitely helped. I have stopped by 1418 Coffee a few times when visiting Dallas, and I plan to keep returning. They consistently do a great job and fit right into the charm of downtown Plano. RIYL: A warm haven in a beautiful downtown.

The baristas are all super friendly and were happy to answer all my questions. It's also super cozy with dim lighting, and the music isn't super overpowering or loud. I was able to comfortably complete some work on my laptop, with working wifi. There were also people here socializing in the morning. They no longer serve breakfast tacos, so I opted for a bacon cheddar scone at one visit and a lemon blueberry scone on another. They were both delicious! The baristas told me that their chai leans toward the sweeter side versus the spicier side, so I opted for an iced sugar-free vanilla latte, which was not overly sweet. I also tried the beez neez (latte with honey and cinammon) another time and enjoyed it! They offer 2% milk, which I don't always find at coffee shops. Since it's in downtown Plano, there's street parking, which wasn't difficult for me since I came at 8 AM. I believe there are parking garages located nearby. Overall, I've greatly enjoyed 1418 Coffee and will most definitely be visiting more throughout this month while I'm working in the area!

The typical bakeries in this area (Plano, Frisco, McKinney, Allen etc) are often chains, and focus on soft breads such as donuts and cakes, with the token boring croissant, and the Asian bakeries (also chains) offer a completely different style of breads, so to finally come across a place with innovative crisp laminated pastries is a treat! Note - they do not sell breads. I visited on a Friday morning around 8am and although there were only two people ahead of me in line, they were already out of almond croissants and I took the last sausage roll on display (but the bakers were probably baking more). There was a continuous flow of people in and out. The location is definitely set up to be a to-go place and NOT somewhere you come to sit and eat. No ambiance.
