I never had a professional headshot done before. My employer asked me to get one so they could advertise an upcoming webinar I'm doing. First, it was really fun. It took about an hour and I really enjoyed it. Aleigha Tucker was fast, fun and produced remarkable results. She gave a quick pre-session with tips on posture, etc. She keeps you moving and takes you from serious to outright laugher in about 5 seconds with a shot catching all the expressions between. The hardest part was selecting my favorite 3 photos from the session. Aleigha helped with that as well. She must have taken 200-300 photos during the session and 90% show me better than I've ever seen myself. She's amazing. Easy to give 5 stars for this kind of professionalism. I've said it on Google Reviews, and I'll say it again here: Moving from Los Angeles with a bit of modeling experience, I feel lucky to have found this gem of a studio in Charlotte (NoDa, to be exact). It's hard to create stunning headshots, but Fenix Fotography did exactly that. At the first of this year, I had an opportunity to have my photo in Forbes. I was sick because in my 44 years of career growth in my industry I have had my photo taken by numerous professional photographers throughout the nation and was still using one from 1997, which was the only one I liked. So I had a professional photographer take photos for an hour and still had to submit my old photo, telling them I did not have a current photo. Then I got two emails this month--a local paper wanted my photo for a write up and Forbes wanted my current photo for their website. They both wanted them within weeks. Sitting at my desk on a Wednesday, I was desperate and resulted to prayer! Then I googled "Top Head Shots"in North Carolina. That's when I read about FENIX. Michele was amazing, proficient, and thorough at communicating everything I'd need to know or ask from the initial contact all the way to the confirmation email. Ryan was equally amazing, knowledgeable, an absolute pro. While I do enjoy photoshoots, I can tend to feel awkward about how to pose in order to get the best possible resulting photograph, but Ryan gave fantastic and clear direction. JUST WHAT I NEEDED! I first became a fan of Ryan at Fenix Fotography when his amazing fashion work was published monthly in Uptown Magazine in Charlotte. Being from Charlotte, I read Uptown Magazine pretty frequently and I couldn't get over how excellent and talented he was. When I became engaged, I knew I wanted something different brought to the table. I didn't want the usual wedding photographs all my friends were getting. They seemed to be paying an arm and a leg for mediocre work. I knew Ryan would bring an extra creative vision to my wedding day. He was with me hours before the ceremony and saw all kinds of little details and unique viewpoints that I never would have imagined. He was extremely attentive and worked very hard to make sure he was capturing every moment of my beautiful day. Ryan's style was that he guided me a little, but mostly let things unfold naturally. During the ceremony, Ryan and his assistant were unobtrusive, but captured the action from many different angles (I'm sure it helped that he attended the rehearsal to know all the ins and outs). He wanted to attend the rehearsal to get the feel of the house and area so he knew exactly what he wanted to focus on the next day. As far as I'm concerned that was monumental to how beautifully he was able to capture my day. The formals went smooth and they even did all the silly shots my mom asked for :) One thing Ryan did which I really liked is that he set up several flashes around inside the reception tent--which gave the images a cinematic look. When I got the final images, I was absolutely ecstatic. Price-wise, it was worth every penny. read more
