I was given peridex which stained my veneers three shades darker by the end of the week. Three dentists in NYC confirmed I should never have been given Peridex on porcelain veneers and that there was no issue with the gums or placement of veneers to begin with. There is no way to fix the damage done unless I want to redo the entire thing which is risky and costly. On top of this I spent over 2k getting second opinions as Dr Chaviano told me I would most likely have multiple issues from the veneers placed. All three NY doctors confirmed that was not true. It was distressing, time consuming, and a loss of money to go on a wild goose chase just to realize there was nothing wrong my veneers in the first place. As much as Id love to forget about the experience Im reminded of it every time I look in the mirror and see my damaged veneers. All in all anything cosmetic related Id go elsewhere as I was told "aesthetics are less important than health" when there was nothing health wise wrong with my teeth to begin with. The first time I came was right before a vacation, I wasn't even a patient yet, and the doctor took a look at a tooth that was hurting me, worked on it a bit, and told me it was not a big concern. All this at no cost to me! The office is very clean and modern, and the staff is always very nice. I love that they send text messages to my phone to remind me about appointments, or when I'm due for a visit. Michelle, the office manager is great at what she does. She explained all of my dental insurance information to me, and told me what each visit would cost me before I got my services done. Extremely nice and helpful. Dr. Aran is very thorough and detail oriented! Best of all, she is a very nice person, easy to deal with. Parking is a bit of a hassle, but everything else about this office outweighs that. Because of greedy, negligent, arrogant and unworthy practitioners like him, countless people are dying daily or getting sicker when they could have been saved!!! I don't recommend anyone with periodontal disease to see or trust Romano. He is negligent, inconsiderate and careless to patients' welfare. I started seeing him in late December 2023. I went in with 3 deep pockets that needed immediate attention. The rest of my teeth were fine. All they needed was a deep cleaning, which l requested. He rather dismissed my request and told me carelessly that the state of my teeth was beyond scaling (which he denied when l reminded him of that today). In fact, he was pushing to remove the infected teeth and have me spend around $30k in bone grafts and implants. All he was interested the extractions + implants and neglected the rest of my teeth that were healthy but needed just a deep cleaning. Unfortunately l kept coming during the course of 9 months for unnecessary regular teeth cleanings when in fact l needed a scaling! Guess what? My pockets got bigger and my teeth that were healthy started deteriorating because the superficial cleanings were not going deep enough to remove the tartar build up. I had to probe and insist in August 2023 for him to reevaluate my teeth and confirm that l needed indeed a scaling. 9 months later!!! During the scaling scheduled today, l asked questions to understand why he'd dismissed my requests for scaling all along and if my unaffected teeth that are now worsening could have been saved had we done the scaling earlier. He was unwilling to communicate. Kept cutting me off, was very rude and defensive and would not answer my questions . His behavior was totally unprofessional and portrayed lack of responsibility and accountability. When he felt cornered by my questions his answer was that he is not the only periodontist in town and refused to perform the scheduled scaling. All of this because l asked questions about the decisions he made concerning my oral health! It was impossible to communicate objectively and professionally with this man who behaved in a totally irresponsible and rude way. He is after your pockets and not concerned about your welfare!!! Please think twice before trusting him with your teeth. What a shame and disgrace to the medical profession!!!!

It was going to be quite pricey--even with two insurances--but I've struggled with self-esteem issues related to my teeth for years. Despite the cost (roughly $15,000), we decided to proceed. While one may ask, "Why didn't you just stop after the first disappointment?" I'd say this: my teeth have always been an issue for my self-esteem, and any improvement seemed huge to me. I wanted to trust the process. Unfortunately, my experience became a series of frustrations. The first set of dental work had a visible gap at the top of my two front teeth. I was told this was necessary if I wanted my teeth to come together, but it felt like a compromise I hadn't agreed to. The second set of crowns had a different color, which I was told happens if you don't do everything at the same time. The third set left me with significant sensitivity, which they tried to treat with medication, though it only provided temporary relief. The fourth set has been the worst. I've been in continuous pain ever since, relying on Advil daily to get through it. The office recommended $600 retainers, which ended up being a complete waste of money because I can't wear them--they only intensified the pain. Eventually, they said I needed to see a specialist for a potential root canal. After waiting another week and a half for the specialist, I was shocked to learn--just as the procedure was about to begin--that they were out of network, and my out-of-pocket cost would be $1,600-$1,900. After all the money I've already spent at this dental practice, I was devastated. I had never been told the specialist wasn't in-network. I simply couldn't afford to pay even more, especially that amount. Instead of showing empathy or trying to work with me, the office just let me leave in pain. Now, upon reflection, I can't help but think of the huge amount of money spent, the pain I'm feeling, and the disappointment. The last $600 for the retainer was essentially money wasted. It causes me so much pain to wear it and I wasn't even offered a refund, after all, it wasn't even my idea to buy it (and they kept (held) 2 out of the 4 without the OK from me.

Told me I need some implants and gave me a business card. I paid $125 for a consultation to get a business card to another dentist. That is not cool.
