Disclaimer: I absolutely loathe the dentist and I'll admit it...I don't go to regular dental cleanings as often as I should. I was super impressed by this dental office. To give you a bit of context, I work full time and barely have time during the week to attend any appointments so it's great when they have availability on Saturdays. Only thing is you'll have to wait one or two months since there's limited availability. The purpose for this visit was for a teeth cleaning and I decided to get there a bit earlier than my appointment time to fill out paperwork. Upon walking in, the lobby looked professional with wooden floors and spacious lobby. I was greeted by the receptionist, completed the paperwork and waited about 15 min before being called in. I ended up getting called in early and completed some quick x-rays. I then waited for Aida (hopefully I'm spelling her name right). Wow, all I can say is she was extremely helpful. Also, she made that vacuum suction device very tolerable and I didn't feel rushed with her at all. She took her time and explained to me some important information in relation to my teeth that no other dentist even mentioned to me before. I understand everyone is busy nowadays, but when someone can actually take the time to explain what's going on with you, I feel like that can go a long way. Once the cleaning was done I did some other x-rays and was instructed to return for a much earlier follow up. The reason being, I'll be undergoing some insurance changes and she wanted to make sure I use my benefits accordingly. The office staff was extremely helpful and if I could give this place 10 stars I would. Hands down best dental office I've been to ever. This will be a little long but worth it. Sooooo as many I loath dentists and don't trust most of them. About 8 years ago I went to a recommended dentist in NY on Park Ave. Fancy place, had a filling that lead to root canal few months later and completely traumatized me. So after that traumatic experience I decided not to get a crown on that tooth. Mind it's the last back tooth that I chew with on the right side. So forward 8 years. Surprised it lasted this long as I chew gum sometimes.... I felt like something cracked but couldn't put my finger on it. Looked in the mirror and saw that back part of that tooth broke off. OMG, no insurance and as more days passed I started to feel pain there. At that point I didn't even know if tooth can be saved but the fear of putting the crown there took over because I have super sensitive gums. I remembered reading a few years ago that there are new type of crowns where they can be made the same day. So I started doing research on Google and found out that the name of it is CERIC crown. So here I am doing research on the price and every where I call it's super expensive. I came across this dental office website offering the crown for $1k and I couldn't believe it. Made an appoint, which they where super flexible. Took X-ray of the tooth before and after. The Dr. heard me loud and clear about my sensitive gums. Let me tell you. Once he was done, it was like my own original tooth was there. It didn't feel off, other then a bit of sensitivity on my gums for one day. I didn't even need time to adjust to it. If you need a crown and an honest dentist, this is your guy. The place is clean and operates very efficiently. And they didn't charge me extra for the X-rays on the tooth as most dentists would. Excellent office and experience. The parking is in the back of building. Went in for a cleaning and exam using the Groupon deal they had made available. The staff was friendly and helpful. The office had a nice waiting area and tv. It looks like they made comfort a priority which is great. My appointment began on time and the facilities appear modern and of good quality. Dr Ada was excellent. She kindly answered all of my questions and is very knowledgeable. They did a good job of explaining the treatment plan. I made cleaning 6 weeks ago. I bought voucher at Groupon for X-ray and cleaning. Duration was 30 minutes. 15 minutes X-rays and 15 cleaning. Only 15!!! I never had a short time like this. Now my dentist told me that I need to do it again because my teeth looks like uncleaned. She showed to me plaque on my teeth. I visited SFDA after finding them on Groupon for various services. It's a great deal but the appointments are only scheduled on particular days if you purchase through Groupon so keep that in mind if you go that route. When I arrived the parking lot was full but they have a very nice man that acts as an attendant to help. The location was not really what I expected but it was clean and the staff was nice. I had my 6 month dental cleaning scheduled for Saturday 11/3/18 at 11:15am since the day of my original exam and cleaning appointment on 5/24/18. I got various automated reminder texts starting on 10/20/18, reminding me to come in on 11/3/18. On Thursday afternoon, I even called and let them know I had an appointment scheduled for Saturday but I wanted to ask if by any chance they had availability to see me on Friday afternoon since I only work til 3pm. They told me no, that the doctor doesn't work on Fridays. Ok fine, no problem. Saturday morning I wake up and drive over to make my 11:15 appt. I get there a little before 11. The door is locked. I knock, no one is answering. A few minutes go by and someone comes up the stairs and is extremely surprised to see me. She says she works there but she's there to see an emergency patient. I'm assuming she's another doctor but she won't really tell me, just keeps telling me the doctor that's supposed to see me doesn't work that Saturday. Needless to say, they scheduled me on a day that no one was there and I wasted my time. I got a call back from the office manager that day but he left a message that I couldn't understand, it was all broken up. I left a message back, explaining that I was left a message that I couldn't understand and I'm the patient that was scheduled incorrectly. Whatever dumb ass receptionist that heard my message somehow interprets my message wrong lol and calls me back and tells me she heard my message that I wanted to make an appointment. Um, no! She's Probably the same one that didn't check the schedule. Or the same one that answered and let me tell them I had an appointment on Saturday and didn't catch it. The office manager called me again Monday (yesterday) while I was at work and apologized. I mean great, yeah, thanks for the apology but the apology didn't clean my teeth or give me my wasted time back. I would never go back to this place, I'm self pay and would rather spend my money at an office that has their shit together! read more

Worst customer service ever!!! I have dental insurance through my job and it was changed at beginning of this year. They kept calling my old insurance for approval. Finally it seemed everything was ok with my new insurance , they confirmed my appointment and I was even told what my copayment amount was, only to be told when I got there, they didn't take my insurance. After getting several calls from different people, I was assured I could come in for the service, which I did, paid my co payment, and half of the procedure was done. My 2nd appointment was supposed to be tomorrow to finish it, only to be told today, again, my plan is not accepted at their office. I have never experienced such lack of professionalism and organization. read more

I hate going to the dentist. But Dr. Hernandez and his staff have made me change my mind. I had meet a " dentist " last week before the 4th and was advised that I need to have a root canal done and I would have to pay $1,000 with cinga dental insure, nevertheless I called on Monday July 8th South Florida Dental Arts and advised them of what the other " dentist " told me, they called my insure found out what I need to pay and saw me on Thursday and completed my root canal, I felt more pain before going to see them compared to going through the root canal process. This was one of the most gratifying experiences I've had with a dentist! I'm not one to usually leave reviews, but my grandmother had some implant work done and I've never seen her smile more. The staff was not only welcoming and friendly, but made a point to get to know who the patient and their family is. Dr. Hernandez took the time to explain step by step the procedure to make sure my grandmother knew exactly what to expect. I was very impressed how after everything was done, the dentist still made an effort to make sure we were happy with the tooth shades and worked with us with no further charge till we were completely satisfied. Last week I had all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed, the whole process was awesome and easy thanks to the staff at South Florida Dental Arts. The doctor and his assistant who did the extraction were exceptional. They answered all my questions and made sure to make me feel secure and comfortable. The dr recommended a certain procedure pre/post op in which resulted in zero swelling/ complications. I got my wisdom teeth removed at South Florida Dental Arts with Dr. Hernandez, and I honestly can't think of anything bad to say. It was mostly pain free for the horror stories I've heard about other people getting their wisdom teeth out, and the staff is quite comforting. PLEASE READ: I went out of my way to make a yelp account to write this review. Keep in mind that I am not one of those customers who complains when someone forgets to put ketchup on my burger. I am not a difficult customer to have anywhere. I am so mortified at my experience at this dental office today, I must share. I have always hated my teeth, had braces for 6 years when I was younger & still was not happy with my teeth. I soon came to realize it was just the shape of my teeth. I have a small face, small mouth so naturally I have a small smile. I knew that I wanted to fix the front 4 of my teeth so I decided to get Veneers. I researched many different places, read reviews, etc. I came across Dr. Hernandez online as one of the best cosmetic dentists' in South Florida. I made an appointment and went in as soon as possible. When I first walked in they kept me waiting for over an hour and a half, just for my consult-unprofessional. I finally get put into a room & Dr. Hernandez walks in, introduced himself. My biggest thing with anyone is personal. I like to feel connected with someone, especially someone who is doing my teeth, any change to the face or body is such a big deal and it takes a lot to put your looks into someone elses' hands. All of his reviews touched upon how personal he was & how he made everyone feel at home, safe, etc. That was the complete opposite vibe that I got from meeting him. Dr. Hernandez was so unfriendly and impersonal towards me. Mind you I have wanted my teeth cosmetically fixed for so long and I just landed an incredible job and can financially afford to get the cosmetic work I have always dreamed of. I brought my sister with me for moral support, opinion & questioning. My sister is very intelligent and every single time she would try and ask a question, he looked at her like she was incompetent. Hernandez proceeded to respond with things like, "I've been doing this for years", "No sweetie, that doesn't even make sense", "that is absurd", "let me handle it". Like, HELLO this isn't Family Feud, you're not on a timed schedule to answer these questions. When someone is paying great money to have their entire smile changed, they have chosen to give you the business and put their safety in your hands-you be considerate, you take the time and excuse my language but you give a fuck. He quoted me a fantastic price and my face lit up, I was so blinded by the fact that I was going to get my dream smile by the "best cosmetic dentist in south florida" that I didn't see any of these red flags. I finally went into my appointment today and as I am waiting for Dr. Hernandez to come in he finally comes in doesn't say hi, how are you, are you nervous, good to see you, can i get you anything just-open your mouth. With Veneers you always get temporaries, he told me I was going to leave today WITHOUT TEMPS!!!! So prettty much i was going to walk out of there like a shark. So thats the 2nd red flag of the day. When I first walked in on the first day I wrote down that I was INCREDIBLY allergic to topical numbing creams and anything that ends in a "Cane" or "Cain" which is what most numbing products consist of. I told him the specific compound that I had a reaction to BLT. Benzocaine, Lidocaine and Tetracaine. I then reminded him again, right then and there do NOT forget that I am severally allergic to the caine family of numbing that I told you about. HE LAUGHED IN MY FACE AND SAID I TOLD YOU WE DON'T USE TOPICAL. So he puts me under the laughing gas, after I am completely baked off that and completely out of it, he puts a needled in my gums and injects me I asked the assisant what he just used, she said Lidocane. My heart stopped and the high I had from the laughing gas had completely worn off, my hands started shaking and I took the mask off, looked and my sister and I saw it in her face that she saw my face starting to swell. The past @ reactions ive had to this have been so life threatening that my eyes completely shut, my face puffs up so bad that God forgive me but i look absolutely deformed. I have never been so furious in my life that I put my safety in the man's hands. Imagine if my sister was not there? That i kept the mask on covering my face and that no one knew i was having a reaction? Dr. Hernandez infected a product directly into my blood stream that could have killed me. I told them I had to go to the hospital that I knew my body and what was happening. The assisant tried to tell me that its a different Lidocane....hahahaha. As i am rushing out, my sister is furious she asked for a refund, MIND YOU DR. Hernandez was not even in the room for the rest of the reaction, he goes " if you think youre having a reaction then go to the hospital." HAHAHA on my fathers life this guy didnt even care!! after he infected me with something that he knew i was deathly alleric to. Dr. Hernandez was so careless. I spent the day in the ER hooked up to steroids to undo this mess. read more

I have never waited here more than 10 minutes and am always seen right away. The office building is very convenient and easy to get to. So far so good. My first appointment today. Fastest service ever. I was there for a consultation only because i dont have the money yet but They even fixed a hidden cavity the doctor i had before never noticed. They put antibiotic on a defective crown and ordered a new crown while putting a temporary crown after paying only a deposit. The lack of parking spots is a big pain. But i cant complain. Once inside, every person there was very professional, focused and respectful. I still must go back and see if the rest of the treatment actually works but today was perfect. read more
